A hard man is good to beat

April

In England Spring is here. April means showers, one of the 84 words we have to describe rain. But this month we had snow, too. April 15th, heavy snowfall. Blizzard, really. Well, more like snowballs falling from the sky. Floods in the south of England. Isn't it nice in springtime? On April 27th, I saw the first butterfly. It was yellow, so that means a long hot summer. In England, that means at least several days over 70 degrees.

New Galleries

You'll have noticed the ongoing series of pictures from the Ms O - now we've got to the bodybuilding section.

Malgorzata Dydek is the world's tallest female basketball player, Ruth Bergenson is a new old-timer, and the Gallery of Ticking was done at the special request of Victim, one of the chat-room regulars.

An especially warm welcome to Batgirl, of course.

The Library

Hardie got his own Bookshelf; lots of appalling stories about girls kicking men in the balls; go and be appalled.

Mac has his own bookshelf too; stories about women growing powerful. Look out especially for Mary the librarian.

And a warm welcome to Paul Smith, who has produced a lot of growth stories very fast, and has his own Bookshelf.

A whole new bunch from Kandor, the eagerly-awaited Finders Keepers series (one of the characters is one Diana Valk, no relation to Diana the Valkyrie), and a few accounts of encounters with Sandy Bouman and Sonia Fernandes, great for people thinking of venturing into their first wrestling encounter.

New artists

CDR has arrived, with his Supercharged Cuties.

The Movie Theatre

More new stuff. I've been digitising stuff that Andrulla brought back from the Ms International, plus there's a load of boxing video.

Ladybumps

A few updates, including Jayne Mansfield, Lisa, Uschi Digard and Margret Adler.

Newsgroups

More flaming, I'm not sure what it's about. If you're interested, go read it. Once something deteriorates into personal abuse, I don't find it of any interest, so I exercise my freedom to ignore, a vital freedom in these days where "free speech" includes garbage sent to you by email.

Also, I heard that the IRC #awa channel (on IRC.SUPERLINK.NET) has split into three, consisting of the old #awa, a new one #muscle&fitness where they have rules against harassment (funny, people only ever try to harass me once) and a third one #femalemuscle If the old one wasn't to your liking, maybe one of the two new ones will be.

The Clubhouse

There's a few new Message Boards. Welcome to Kathy Meyers, who is a fitness competitor who has decided to go for bodybuilding. Also Sherry Volante, a most unusual lady. And, because people seem to want to discuss the problem of drug abuse in bodybuilding, I've added a board for that. Also, I got begged nicely for a Biceps board, so I put that up too.

On the undistaff side, Tre' now has a place for his Trumpetings, and he's been trumpeting loudly.

And you'll have noticed the new clocks. Clepsydra is in the Message Boards area, and in the Clubhouse. She serves two purposes. One is to tell you the time (it gets it from your computer, so if it's wrong, fix your system time). The other purpose is to hear if they give people problems, because they're Java applets, and I want to know if I can use it more widely. Trouble is, WebTV users don't have Java, so I have to use it for things that don't matter just now. Clepsydra in the chatroom, however, keeps EST. Have a chat with her some time.

In the Chatroom

Everything I tell you here is taken from public postings, you can read it yourself in the Archives.

A big welcome to ShyGuy, who has a great series of dramatic entrances. Shame on Scooby, who grabbed his security blanket on 8th April, and, well, if you want to see the saga of the blanket, read the archives. Subsequently, ShyGuy pulled the Valkyrie's pigtails, I pulled something back, it came off in my hand (they don't make them the way they used to, and so ShyGuy had to write a story to get his leg back. You can see the story in the Library, it's rather good. ShyGuy also goes by verious other names, all of which have the initials FBB, such as FabulousBritishBoy.

Also on April 8th, sub and HBP got back from their session with Sandy, and were bubbling over about it. HBP wrote it up and his account is in the library. I suggested to sub that he digitise the video he shot of his session, noe thing led to another, and now sub is going to Florida to spend some time with Sandy and shoot video - could romance be in the air?

Lutz returned to Germany from his vacation in the USA, where he met Karla (and, of course, wrestled with her). He's also getting Berlin sorted out as a great place to meet wrestlers.

Sonia Fernandes went to America too; New York and Chicago. In Chicago she was wined, dined and treated like a queen by Littleman, so she had a great time there.

Another big welcome to ByzantineHermitCrab (from France), and to Sandy Bouman, who is the lady that HBP and the others met in St Louis in April.

Another newcomer is Charon. Now obviously, to anyone who knows their Greek Mythology, Charon is the ferryman across the river Styx to Hades. But to people who aren't clued up on this, Charon sounds like Sharon, which most people assume is a female name (actually, one of the world armwrestling champions is called Sharon, and he's definitely male, but leave that aside). So people start trying to make time with Charon on that assumption, while everyone else is ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing). Meanwhile Charon is wondering if maybe he should change his name. I hope he doesn't, it's a good name. It was even funnier when Charon assumed that Michele was female, confusing his name with "Michelle", which does tend to be a female name.

The lesson is, this web site is global, there are people from all over the world visiting here and having fun, and the different cultures are different and that's good, and it's a lot of fun finding out what the differences are. Just don't assume that people know what you know, or think like you think.

A frequent visitor is WB270, the chap who maintains the Big List of women who wrestle. Because of that, he has an intimate insight into the world of mixed wrestling, and shares the gossip with us. If you want advice from The Man, WB270 is the bloke to talk to, and his web site is the place to visit. He's unbiased, doesn't take any percentage from anyone, and knows what he's talking about. TomNine is another good person to get advice from, he seems to be wrestling with every lady he can find, so can give you first-hand impressions. The late evening (EST time) chat time is often about wrestling, although when Scooby's around, talk usually turns to mixed fighting in the movies.

We've also started getting DEATH dropping in occasionally. I'm not sure how welcome he is, though. Well, it takes all sorts.

People often use abbreviations in the chat room; here's some common ones. You'll have seen lists like these before, the difference is, that this is a list of what people actually use.

I added a couple of new commands to the chat room. /link http://www.somewhere.com/somedirectory/somefile.jpg (that's the preferred way) and /picture http://www.somewebsite.com/somewhere/something.jpg

The Forbidden World

Have you visited it yet? Well, you shouldn't.

Nicole Bass

There's a new bunch of pictures of Nicole, Nicole seeing the sights of London, and Nicole buying a pair of boots (great for the people who like large feet).

Andrulla Blanchette

Andrulla did a great posting on her message board, all about buying a bangle, about how sure the vendor was that "one size fits all" until Andrulla rolled up her sleeve, and ... well, read the posting, it's on her Message Board.

Back Page

We have a main page in Japanese. It was done by someone who does this sort of thing professionally, so it must be good. I can't read it, of course.

I checked the site statistics. that Sandra counts up each night. 89,000 pictures (4.7 gigabytes), 3.4 gigabytes of video, 2538 text files (mostly stories).

Someone asked what happens when I run out of space - it won't happen. I've still got more than ten gigabytes of free space, and the big new server for the site has arrived, with 50 gigabytes of space.
