These are the stories with a file date within the last thirty days. Of course, any alteration to a file will change its date, so some of them might be alterations of an old story

This index is recreated daily. In the small hours of the morning (while you're safely asleep in your bed, or indeed in any other bed, or even if you haven't gone to bed at all), a Valkyrie looks at every story on the web site and lists those with a file date that's within a month. Of course, any alteration to a file will change its date, so some of them might be minor corrections to an old story.

The files on the third bookshelf (where many of the very latest stories are kept) are excluded from this search, because they're on a different server, until they are put into their more permanent home.
