February is cold, but the buds hint at March, which is just around the corner. The catkins are in fine fettle, and the rain has a hint of warmth to it.
I was born within the sound of Bow Bells, so I'm a Cockney. I grew up speaking like a Cockney. Cockney ain't just rhyming slang (and most of the rhyming slang dictionaries I've seen are 80% invented, and would never be used by kosher Cockneys).
Until you can get to London for the real thing, here's Diana the bloomin' Valkyrie's web site, translated into Cockney. You can browse it, just like you would normally.
Or you can go look at someone else's web site, Cockney version. Cor lummee! Diana the Valkyrie has translated the entire internet into Cockney for you, so you can browse around as per usual, but everything will be in Cockney. Gordon Bennett, it's the dogs bollocks.
And there's kushty Rockney ding-dongs to play, such as Rabbit or The Sideboard Song.
If that's tickled yer fancy, take a butchers at The Cockney Internet where it's all laid aht, and there's more fun stuff.
Did you know that some of the slang words you use (bread for money (bread and honey) raspberry for rude noise (raspberry tart)) come from rhyming slang? It's gone so deep into the language, people don't even realise they're using it. Indeed, sometimes it's right hard for me to know which words I learned as a nipper, and which dicky birds I picked up later.
If anyone's interested in helping, I could add other dialects, such as Yorkshire by gum, Scots, Irish or even Strine. To do any American dialects (Texas, Nyawk, Redneck, Ebonic) I would need a *lot* of help. Dialects where there's only a few differences from Queen's English aren't worth doing, because you can't really see any change in a web page.
I've also done the Yiddish Internet, with help from Fistman for the vocabulary.
If you know a dialect that needs translating, email me, I'll tell you what you need to do to help.
I guess I don't have to tell you that this is one of the biggest web sites on the Internet, in terms of the amount of content. So the problem is, how do you find what you're looking for?
The most important thing to know about is the Magic Carpet which gives you a shortcut to most places on the web site. Some people have made that the page that loads up when their browser loads. It doesn't change much, but when I add an important new area, the Magic Carpet will be updated.
There's more than one way to find things. Let's start off with the stories.
Sandra will search the web site. She's quite sophisticated, and very fast. She'll search for a word, or a phrase, and you can tell her to search for complicated things like "head and (scissors or headlock) and not naked"
There's also a list of just Muscle Growth stories, but that hasn't been updated for a while.
You can also look to see what's new in the last 30 days or in the last week or the last two days. There's been a new story pretty much every day since the web site started.
If you know the name that you're looking for (such as Jane Doe) then you should check the alphabetically sorted list in the East Wing.
If you're looking for a kind of picture, then visit the West Wing because that has all the other pictures, subdivided into various categories. But if you find, for example, a riding gallery, you shouldn't assume that's the only one!
Galleries get updated, and now ones created. To see what's new, you can check the list of what's new or updated in the last thirty days, or the last seven days, or the last two days, what's best for you it depends how often you visit the site.
When existing galleries are updated, that shows up in the "What's New". But when Corinne has to create a new gallery, she puts it in the Transient Wing, where it stays for a while until I decide where it will finally go.
Bodybuilders are in the East Wing and everything else is in the West Wing
A lot of the movies are in special theatres, such as "Lift and Carry", and "Boxing". You'll find a list of these in the main Movie Theatre.
New movies in the last thirty days are listed with thumbnails what's new at the movies and you can also see new movies in the last seven days or two days.
At the beginning of February, there were so many stories in the Library, that Sandra couldn't search them any more. She just gave up, and people couldn't do searches any more.
So I had a look into it, and I explained to her about indexing, and gave her an assistant, who will index the library once per week. Indexing is a *big* job. This means that, although new stories will still show up as before, and also on the "What's New", it'll be a few days before they're searchable.
The good news, though, is that the searching is a lot better. You can search using "and" and "or" and "not", so you could look for "arm wrestling and not boomer" to find all the arm wrestling stories not by Boomer (because you've already read all of Boomers, right?).
You can ask Sandra to display them 10, 20 or 50 at a time, and then you can look at the next bunch, or the previous bunch, and so on. In fact, it's very like the NewsThumbs.
Two new stories from AmazonFan, including a very authentic story that starts off in an AOL chatroom (I know, I've been there) and winds up ... well, not in bed, they were too wet for that.
There's a new Movie Theatre, which is a mixture of feats of strength, weightlifting, lift-and-carry, circus stuff. It will be arriving every few days.
This is a complete list of all the video clips available on the web site that were posted in the last thirty days. This index is recreated daily. In the small hours of the morning (while you're tucked up nice and safe in your bed) a Valkyrie looks at every movie on the web site and lists them. Of course, any alteration to a file will change its date, so some of them might be re-uploads of an old clip. The files are sorted with the most recent at the top.

You've heard all the get-rich-quick and make-money-fast schemes. American Eagle Web Publications (Ameg for short) is a make-a-small-amount-of-money-slowly scheme.
It's open for anyone who's a member of the web site. Here's how it works.
A lot of the members of this web site, run sites of their own (they'll be in my list of links somewhere). For example, Armfan, Winsock and, of course, SlowDive (the man with a million web sites, is what Clepsy calls him). And one of the problems of running a web site, is the need to update it every month, every week or (as in my case) every day.
So, I've announced a new service for webmasters (provided you're also a Member of the web site). You can have some NewsThumbs on your web site. Here's how it works.
You choose which NewsGroup you want, out of my list (if you want one that isn't on my list, I might be able to add it). Then, every day, I'll send you an email consisting of the first NewsThumbs page for that NewsGroup, plus the 30 pictures it indexes, all in one big zip file (it'll be 1 to 2 mb). That page will work just fine as soon as you unzip it and put all the files on your site, but the references to the next page, to other days, and to other NewsGroups will point back to my site, and people will have to become members to access it. As an alternative to emailing you one big zip file, if you give me an FTP address to send it to, I'll send it to there, unzipped. This means that if you arrange things right, you can wind up with having to do no work at all.
So, it means that you'll be able to put content up on your site that's fresh every day, which is what people love, and will bring them back each day to see what's new. And what I get out of it, of course, is people wanting to see the rest of the NewsThumbs, will have to join up.
Obviously I can't guarantee 30 pictures every day. But if there's less than 30, then that's because I received less than 30. And I can't guarantee what's actually in the pictures, but when Narella does her spam-sorting, she puts the ones she thinks might be spam at the end, so the first 30 are more likely to be non-spam.
Many of the pictures that are posted on the NewsGroups are copyright, some are spam, and some may even be illegal in some parts of the world. But all this material is available on every ISP (including, for example, AOL). And AOL seems to have no problem with the legality of it. I think the argument used is "common carrier", but whatever the legal position is, I don't think anyone's ever challenged it. However, I don't know if that same position would apply if you're carrying just a part of a NewsGroup. If you're concerned, consult your local lawyers.
Read about Outreach Newsthumbs and email me if you're interested.
The second thing that Ameg'ers get, is redirection. Instead of giving people the address of your web site to click on, they click on an Ameg code. Freya then whisks them off to where the site really is, and it's so fast, they won't see it happening. This means that you can set up two sites that are identical, and if your service provider decides to remove one of them for whatever reason (Freeyellow took down my free site, and I have no idea why, it was all mpegs of Andrulla in the gym), you can switch to the other one instantly by telling Greta about the change of address.
So, it's still up to you to make sure that you don't break the rules of the free service that you use. But even if you don't break their rules, they can still take off your files, and since it was free, you don't really have much of a say in it.
Mary, my eagerly-awaited new news-server, is starting to collect NewsThumbs. She's assisted by Nancy, who's only just arrived. Nancy talks to the outside world to collect the News, then Mary gets it from Nancy and makes the NewsThumbs. I'm hoping that Mary and Nancy can take over from Greta some time soon. Mary has 120 gigabytes of space ...
Joan had been running non-stop for five months, but there was a minor problem, and we decided to take her offline for a couple of hours. Before we did that, we switched the load over to Diana, so that I doubt if anyone noticed it happening. This was on the 9th February. It was a good test of the spare server idea I'm using.
I added a thing that lets you search the new archives, if you're a member. If you're not a member, you can read, and search, the old archives.
At 12 noon on the 27th February, Athena and Tex were united in Holy Musclemony by the Reverend Femuscle; Mad Scientist acting as witness.

In the middle of February, Clepsy took a good look at the "Cockney Internet" (see above). So now, all Clepsy's jokes and wise sayings are in Cockney.
And you can talk in Cockney too. You can check the "Cockney" box as you enter, or else use "/Cockney on" and "/Cockney off"
Or if you prefer Yiddish, do "/Yiddish on" and "/Yiddish off".
Hello, Kids
February has come to a close and it's time for me to report the goings on in Diana the Valkyrie's Coffee Lounge. February was a busy month in the chat with Diana's new inventions as well as the usual discussions encompassing the world of female athletics.
In the past few weeks Diana added a chatroom that is specifically intended for the discussion of web page design and implementation. American Eagle Publishing is for those who specifically want to chat about their web sites without risking boring their fellow chatters in the Coffee Lounge. Diana and Winsock (happy birthday, Winsock) were the primary residents here. Diana is a wily veteran at web page construction, while Winsock seems to be drawing from her considerable knowledge in operating his own web sites. If you haven't visited Winsock's site, I strongly recommend that you do. His list of links is unbelievable! Slowdive has been absent from the chatroom lately and we look forward to his return. He will undoubtedly be of great influence in the American Eagle chatroom and all his web sites continue to draw more and more people to Diana's fantastic cyber playground.
Diana also very recently added another check box to the log on screen of the Coffee Lounge. If you click on the Cockney box, all your text will be translated through a Cockney database and be printed in its altered form in the chatroom. It's quite a site to see. It's almost like speaking a foreign language. Wotcha!
This month stood out above the other months that I have been privileged to report on, as it seemed to be strongly focused on the world of sessions. PJ met with Jasmine Johnson (he undoubtedly has posted a review on the message boards) and reported that she was undoubtedly the strongest woman he had ever wrestled. He also remarked several times how pretty she is. The best of both worlds. PJ is a lucky fellow. Boomer also had the opportunity to wrestle our friend Lisa Houston. Lisa can occasionally be found in the Coffee Lounge using the name LadyDragon. She also has her own message board, as well. After his encounter with Lisa, Boomer was convinced that he was a weak man, as Lisa had no trouble at all putting the unfortunate fellow in his place. Squishedfish just met with Tami Frazier and though he was too excited to reveal many details, he did say that she was ripped and gorgeous. Methinks the poor lad is smitten. The man with the big list, wb270 reported that some women were now advertising that they would do belly punching. I am sure -jabber is smiling about that. Let's just hope that they will be letting us punch their hard abdominals instead of them punching our soft, pudding bellies. Otherwise, I doubt they'll have anyone brave enough to let them try. The queen of all sessions, the lovely Sonia, made frequent appearances in the Coffee Lounge this month and belittled and abused several men in her uniquely charming way.
The really big news was that ultimate lift and carry man, HardbodyPaul, arranged to take part in a video with our Sheila Burgess and Kasie Cavanaugh. The video was a contest of who could lift Paul the most times. Sheila even said that Paul was naked. Let us all pray that she was joking! The -jabber is going down to Austin with HBP to meet Jill Brown.
Also, Tex and Athena have made tentative plans to have a chatroom wedding. Diana will marry them. Let's hope that those two lovebirds can manage to keep the honeymoon out of the chat or it could get messy! CaptainCorc and his lady, Miz L, got together with Tex and Athena this month. Details are still pending. Speaking of grand weddings, JoanneK and JoanneFan have been considering a chatroom wedding as well as a real-world wedding. I wonder if JF will be able to go through the ceremony without saying, "Shit," "Teehee," or "LOL." Will JoanneK be able to keep her massive arms under wraps? Buy something with loose sleeves, JK. With all these chatroom romances, Valentine's Day was extra special. I am sure that everyone is wondering if they have to dress-up for a cyber wedding. Do I have to wear a tuxedo?
Winsock's girlfriend, Gigi made a rare appearance. Dragon, our friend from the message boards did the same. Blasterman joined the FBI (female body inspectors) and Blu provided us of images of Nicole's oatmeal wrestling adventure. -Jabber fell out of his chair with great frequency and Diana graciously offered him a seat belt. Unfortunately, PJ's bench press contest with a local dancer was cancelled. Shy Guy is making plans to visit the states. He hopes to be able to meet Ms Sheila Burgess when he is in Vancouver and eventually make his way to a science fiction convention in Dallas. All of this seems motivated by his obsession to see the new Star Wars movie on its opening night. Tre' logged on under a thousand different names and Diana spilled her beloved chicken soup all over bolle. Speaking of Diana, she shared with us some more of her past by revealing her working-class background and her frightening experience of being attacked by a flying fish in Trinidad. Andrulla continued her contest preparation for the Ms International in March. Good luck, IronGoddess! Speaking of Andrulla, her movie "Magneeta" was realized this month. Check out the FTV page to order. This month was a month of gender issues. The concept of femininity was debated rather vigorously. Dell seemed to be the champion of Renee Toney, a woman who seems to push the envelope with a lot of people. Scooby and Prodigy excitedly discussed their favorite television program, VIP. Richard and sen both put in unreal shifts at their hospitals, though Richard is known to check in during work.
Sheila was on the end of two impressive strength challenges this month. Legscissors challenged Sheila to try and burst volleyball between her massive thighs. Alexei then challenged her to try and tear a phone book in half. I'll report the results as soon as they are available. In the meantime, Sheila is practicing her volleyball-bursting skills on her boyfriend's head. She is also making several new videos with various companies and has extended her deepest thanks to all of us who have made this work for her.
Wow! Lots of news! Can you believe with all that happening this is actually the shortest month of the year? Spring is nearly upon us residents of the Northern Hemisphere. Soon we will no longer have to get teased by all the Australian chatters and their summer weather. Well, my fingers are tired, so I'll see you kids in the Coffee Lounge (Diana permitting, of course).

A narrow victory for Winsock, chased closely by Mad Scientist.
Colette Guimond has a shoulder injury, and she's been unable to post to her Message Board, so I made it read-only, and I'll be taking it down until she's recovered.
Mavis keeps a running total of who are the most frequent posters, and which message boards are most used. This figure is reset to zero each month, and you can see past figures in the web site newsletter.
She only keeps tabs on members. Non-members posts are also welcomed, of course, but since Mavis doesn't know who is posting, she can't include them in the tally.

Diana the Valkyrie is pleased to announce that this web site has been tested for Y2K compliance, and has not failed any ISO, ANSI or British Standard standards for compliance. In particular, web site members will be pleased to hear that the pictures will continue to be viewable and stories readable into the next Millenium.
There was some concern over a few of the stories, in which the date of the action is given as a two-digit number, and readers might be confused into thinking that (for example) the year 97 means 2097, and not 1997 as was intended. However, this has been rectified by using the context to insert the correct impression into the reader's mind.
Another cause for concern was the Message Boards, where although dates are stored with four digits, and displayed on the Message Boards that way, on the main message Board menu, the "Latest Posting" date has only two digits in the year field, which might lead readers after the millenium-change to assume that the postings are dated over 99 years in the future. But Diana the Valkyrie has stated that a note will be put on that page to clear up any possible misunderstanding, and with that assurance, Y2K compliance is granted.
So members of this web site can be sure that there will be absolutely no problems, when we celebrate the year 1900.
Once again, the answers to last month's quiz. Mr Grimsmold is disqualified for sending in the answers to last month's quiz. It's very easy when you've already seen the answers, Mr Grimsmold, but no prize for you. And I didn't appreciate the pot of yoghurt.
The "What is this" question - it was a kipper, seen from an unusual angle. Mr Toadstruggle is disqualified because he didn't say what it was, he said what he would do with it. Not that you actually could do that with a kipper. I think.
The "Where are they now" question; the item of underwear named by Mrs Kibblewell is a very unlikely place to find two people simultaneously. The correct answer was Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, unless you're an AOLer, in which case the correct answer is Shorpe in California.
The "Who's doing what to who?" group question was, I admit, a bit difficult. Indeed, there seem to be so many answers all of which are correct that we decided to scrub the question. Well done to everyone except Mr Nkadimeng, whose answer was very obviously copied from the Kama Sutra.
I checked the site statistics. that Sandra counts up each night. At the end of January 1999, there were about 135,000 pictures (6.0 gigabytes), 8.6 gigabytes of video, 2800 text files (mostly stories) and a total of about fifteen gigabytes. In addition, there's NewsThumbs, which is another 280,000 pictures in 17 gigabytes and 362,000 text files, a total of 18 gigabytes.
