Running well. I've moved the current Newsthumbs to the archive, and set up a new server for the current.
Running well. In January, I'll be moving the main server farm to Cheltenham. I'm hoping that people accessing the web sites won't notice any change.
I've done a lot of preparation for this - setting up a load of big new servers, configuring a new firewall, getting the changes in the DNS servers ready. But there's bound to be something I forgot!

I checked the site statistics that Sandra counts up each night.
At the end of December 2010, there were about 1,271,000 pictures (223 gigabytes), 414 gigabytes of video, 13300 text files (mostly stories) and a total of about 638 gigabytes. There's about 450 million pictures altogether in Newsthumbs, increasing at about 5 million per month.
