APPLAUSE RANG OUT!


Terry explained the Rules as the spectators listened intently!---- The
contestants would oppose each other with wooden rods which once belonged
attached to a rake with the ends cut off and attached to the ends of the
wooden poles were Pads!----Cruel constricted Rough Canvas covered small
Compact Pads and for the men Big Foam Rubber Pads. Outstretched arms of the
contestants were to be attached to the ends of the long Poles by Rawhide
tightly so that they could use the Pads by Swinging the Poles in order to
Attack their counterparts!----The Poles were then to be passed behind the
Heads of the contestants as if their arms were in a Cross!----- Behind and
along the Backs of their Necks. On each end of the wooden poles, the pads,
seemed to be a type of boxing glove. The contestants would have to stay
kneeling all the while inside the two large Circles that were staked out for
them, facing off on each side of a Center Dividing line. To assure that they
would stay in a squat position, leather straps were to be attached to the
contestant's ankles which were in turn tied up around the thighs of the
contestants and a two foot leather strap that would be attached to each ankle
limiting the movement of their legs. As Terry spoke Kotie and Wanie were busy
at work fastening the apparatus on both Deke Foster and Nick Johnson. It was
then that April Cummings Paled when she realized where she had Nick earlier.
The only woman present at this time and who was at the early morning event at

Standing up suddenly. all watched as the two groups of opponents faced off.

Cheering and standing the spectators were anxiously focused on the start of

As they struggled, Squatted in Anticipation, Deke was the first to Notice that

cause definite Pain and Debilitating Compromise for the Men in their effort to
win the Contest!----!---Nick also became Aware of the disadvantage!---But His
Response!---Unlike Deke's was much different!----Nick was beginning to get a

situation and were grinning directly at Him. The certainly seemed to be
