Summary: To save the lives of several children, non-super G.O.L.D. heroine Mei Wong must journey to a hidden valley in Africa to find the 'Talisman of Light'. The temple is guarded by Malika, the Queen of the Zulu Amazons, a lost tribe of amazon's who left Paradise Island 1000 years ago. Not knowing of Mei Wong's good intentions, and the fact that she has every intention of bringing it back, leads to Malika mistaking Mei Wong for a Temple Raider.

This story is dedicated to the catfighting jungle girls of GW, as well as my homage to Sheena, Shanna, and other jungle girls.

South Africa, 1999

The tall woman frowned as she observed the odd flying craft that had been circling for the last hour over the dense jungle that was domain.  Several other women had joined her. All were young and beautiful. The women all wore only loincloths, roman sandals, and bracelets on their wrists, although several also had various other arm and ankle bands. The women represented every race on Earth, European, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, but the vast majority were the skin tone of North American African Americans, rather than the darker pure Africans.

The 'black' girls however all had European features and long hair which betrayed their amazon ancestry from Themyscira. All of them were lean and muscular, yet still feminine. Their wiry muscles were those of well developed female athletes. And yet, the queen, Queen Malika, was the most beautiful and powerful of them all. Malika was truly the first among equals.

Malika stood in at 6' 1" and 180 pounds of solid, yet feminine, muscle. Her powerful legs were those of a gymnast, her arms were corded sinew, her stomach was flat and rock hard. Malika's impressive 42 DD breasts were high and firm without the slightest sag. Her dark brown skin was shiny with a thin film of sweat that had slight drips from her even darker nipples. Malika's long hair was almost a reddish brown that framed her heart shaped face. Malika's odd blue eyes, European nose, and full lips were from her heritage as a descendent of European amazons.

Over the last few years, the amazons had grown used to the sight of various types of aircraft, and many had seen jeeps from a great distance. This strange craft though seemed to be neither. It had no
wings yet it flew like a plane, but it also looked like those things called automobiles. Finally the craft found a clearing and landed.

Malika's frown deepened. Whoever it was, they were too close to the sacred temple of Zeus.

"Another tomb raider my Queen," Serena said.  "That makes - what? - 22 this year."

Malika was silent. Every year they seemed to come in greater numbers.  Treasure seekers, mercenaries, greedy hunters, poachers, and tomb raiders. All were searching for lost riches that did indeed exist, but that were treasured by the amazons. The greatest prize of all though was the Medallion of Light, said to have been given to Malika's great grandmother 1000 years ago by Zeus himself. The amazons were immune from age and disease and only died by accident or in battle.

"There was only one occupant in that strange vehicle," Malika finally said.  "I could not tell their race or sex. There is a great chance that the jungle itself will kill whoever it is, but my duty as Queen of the Zulu Amazons and protector of the temple of Zeus is clear.  Should the jungle fail, I must kill the intruder myself."

Malika was a heroine and disliked killing, but she would do whatever she had to to protect her people and their sacred treasure. Malika had killed more than her share of men and even a few vicious women, but she took no joy in it.  If I ever start to enjoy killing, I will be unworthy to be queen, Malika thought, as she grabbed her spear and shield from a young amazon. Besides her spear, Malika was also armed with two knives, one on her hip, the other on her calf.

Malika set off into the jungle in a dog-trot pace that allowed her cover ground quickly. Even at that pace though and the fact that he knew the jungle intimately, it was over an hour before she arrived at the strange craft. With her skilled eyes, Malika quickly knew her opponent.  The size of the footprints, a slight lingering scent of jasmine, a very small piece of torn cloth with the same scent.  A woman? Malika thought, surprised.  What is a woman, and a small one at that, doing by herself on such a dangerous quest?

Further examination revealed more subtle clues that only an experienced tracker like Malika could tell. Whoever she was, this woman was no amateur. The way she went through the heavy foliage with as little disturbance as an amazon indicated a possible background in martial arts, as well as some experience in similar terrain. The unknown woman was carrying a pack that was lightweight, and yet Malika correctly guessed, well prepared with only essentials.

"She's good," Malika said aloud.  "I would do well to not underestimate her. Perhaps I can even spare her if she is worthy. If she is attractive and wishes to live she could even become a sex slave."

Like 98% of all the amazons, Malika was a pure lesbian. Malika was especially fond of lesbian BDSM like 97.9% of the amazons. Malika loved 'getting it' as much as dishing it out like the same 97.9%. Malka's thoughts were cut short by the scream of a child and the roar of a lion.

Malika raced through the jungle until she came to a small clearing.  An amazon girl/child, no more than 6 was backed up against a tree terrified, her toy bear several feet away. The lion was a huge alpha male with a scar across his nose. Malika knew this particular lion.  It had been she who had given him the scar. This lion was a rogue 'man eater.'

Three years before this lion had killed 3 amazons including a child.  Malika and many others had hunted him for days. But except for one wild toss that had given him the scar, Malika had for the first and only time failed to track anything. The lion had actually simply gone to another territory outside of amazon boundaries. Since no other amazon, including one who was an even better tracker than Malika even caught a glimpse of this lion, no one blamed her for it getting away.

"Turn beast! Turn and face a queen of the amazons!" Malika yelled.  "Face a warrior instead of a child!"

The lion roared and did turn at the sound of the woman. The lion recognized the woman's scent immediately. This was the one who had hurt him. While the lion didn't think about such things as revenge he saw in Malika a larger meal than the morsel he had cornered. Malika further distracted him by banging on her metal Zulu style shield.

"When I give the word, run child," Malika yelled, "run!!"

So taken by hunger and instinct, the lion barely noticed the girl.  The thought, if he had any, was that the morsel was easy prey, and could be caught again should this 'bigger' one get away. The lion roared again and leaped. Planting her spear like a Zulu, Malika impaled the lion fully, dodging away at the last second. Malika's spear broke under the lion's body. To Malika's surprise the lion got back up.

"What??!" Malika shouted.  "I got you clean! There's no way you could still be alive!"

Malika had killed several lions and knew that by all rights this one should already be dead. Her thrust had been well timed and accurate, and yet this lion was actually running at her. Malika leaped and somersaulted clear over the lions head. Landing behind him she whirled around quickly. The lion tried to turn, only to have a powerful figure on his back. Powerful legs wrapped around the lion's mid-section as Malika stabbed once, twice, three times with her 14" knife.

The third stab sliced open the lions jugular vein, finally finishing him. The lion fell hard. Malika rolled away with nothing more than a couple of bruises. Malika then examined her spear thrust and found that she had indeed killed the lion with that. The lion, fueled by hatred, evil or whatever, had simply refused to die immediately. The child appeared again just as her mother, an amazon named Talara, also entered the clearing and gabbed the child.

Talara was grateful, angry at herself, angry at the girl, relieved and a number of other emotions. Malika smiled as the girl was scolded and hugged, but couldn't stay to accept more than cursory thanks. Malika was way behind the suspected raider now and needed to make up a lot of ground.

Mei Wong had trained in jungle terrain and knew something about them. Despite the seeming chaos of vegetation, there was a pattern to it. The Zulu Amazons knew this as well. Mei had a machete, but tried to use it as little as possible. Mei didn't know how far away she was from the Temple of Zeus a.k.a. Temple of Light, but knew it was almost due north. Mei was actually only 5 miles away at this point, but the vegetation was slowing her down to a degree that it would take almost an hour and a half to go that distance.

Malika paused as she came across the spoor of a gorilla. Something was wrong. The gorilla had been poisoned somehow, and had gone berserk.  What was even worse was that it was a big greyback.  What is it with alpha males today? Malika thought.  First a lion and now a gorilla.  He's headed right for that raider woman. If he catches her it's over.

Malika had figured out something else about her quarry. During the entire chase Malika had many chances to check the woman's faint scent.  Whoever she was she didn't have one of those weapons called a gun.  Malika could tell the scent of even modern cartridges and this woman wasn't packing. Whoever she was, this female raider was either very brave or very foolish.

"The Temple of Light," Mei happily cried as she looked down into the beautiful valley below.

Mei would never have seen it from the air due to a canopy of trees over it. A lovely waterfall ran beside it into a small lake that became a creek further down. Mei actually felt like a swim as she sat her backpack down beside the water's edge. There were no signs of crocodiles, or hippos, Mei rightly guessed that amazons used this place for swimming and other things and would 'clear out' anything dangerous.

Mei was hot and stripped off her shirt and unfastened her bra. Mei scooped up some water and splashed it on her breasts. Mei was still debating if she should take a shower or go straight for the medallion when a loud roar interrupted her. Looking up, Mei gasped at the sight of 500+ pounds of gorilla. Despite their fierce reputations Mei knew that gorilla's were normally very shy and passive. But this one was neither.

Mei knew nothing about gorillas, but even she knew a berserker when she saw one. Mei quickly looked around for a means to escape. There was none.

"Okay, tall, dark, and smelly," Mei sadly said, "looks like we do this the hard way."

Mei knew that this thing could literally rip her in half. A gorilla had the strength of a dozen men, but Mei had fought and defeated nutty super-villains that were stronger than a dozen gorillas. Mei quickly sized the greyback up. Even a gorilla had to have weak points.  The eyes and throat, Mei thought, maybe the groin, but not like a man.  Knees, they're out though.  Mei had no wish to hurt the ape and less wish to be torn apart.

The maddened, poisoned, gorilla charged. Mei gracefully flipped away, and drawing 2 of the slim throwing daggers from her right wrist and threw them at the gorilla's eyes. Mei had a rare miss as both daggers penetrated the gorilla's shoulder. Painful, but in no way would slow the creature down. Mei scrambled away, barely cartwheeling to safety as the ape reached for her.

"No way am I going to try to go toe to toe with you, gruesome," Mei joked to no one in particular.

Mei didn't want to resort to dirty tactics, but her life and the lives of innocent children were at stake here. Mei hit the gorilla with a whole handful of tear gas pellets. The gorilla roared in rage as he was half blinded. Mei threw a smoke bomb right at the gorilla's feet, followed by 2 more daggers. Once again Mei's throw was slightly off, as the gorilla took both daggers in an arm that was across his face. Mei drew the sai.

Mei landed a few kicks to the half-blinded ape. The kicks were barely an annoyance that did no damage. Mei then leaped and with all her strength drove the sai into the eyes of the berserk gorilla, driving the sharp points into the brain. Mei released the sai, and kicked off the gorilla's massive chest, flipping backwards away from the greyback's death throes, and landing on her feet.

"I'm sorry," Mei said as the gorilla twitched for the last time.  "I meant you no harm gentle creature, but I can't let anyone stop me."

Mei turned, her eyes tearing up and walked up the steps of the Temple of Light. There inside, glowing with pure light, around the neck of the statue of Zeus was the Medallion of Light. Mei cautiously approached it.

"I swear I'll bring it back, Zeus," Mei said.

Mei had never believed in the old myths until she had became a member of G.O.L.D. Now, she had met the Chinese War-God Yuan Ti, the Japanese god of thunder Lord Raiden, the Japanese War-god Hachiman, seen her friend and leader China Dragon become a demi-god, had sex with Golden Girl whose real name was Apella the daughter of Apollo, and had been to Asgard itself.

"No need for that," Malika said from behind her.  "You won't be taking it in the first place, raider!"
