ACCESS: available on video, it has not made it to cable yet, to my knowledge.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: a psychology student (Chad Lowe) takes over as the
manager of a seedy apartment complex filled with bizarre and diverse
characters in this dark comedy. when he discovers the body of the previous
manager at the bottom of the pool, he becomes the prime suspect in his murder.
it's up to the nutty tenants to band together to clear him.

SCISSORS SCENE: Stan enters his apartment and is surprised to find wacky
police psychic and tenant Miss Cherille (Amanda Plummer) there. she claims to
be there to feel the vibrations from the murder victim. it's obvious she is
horny as she lies down on the water bed and claims to feel faint. he gets
water for her and finds her nude when he returns. he is shy and tries to hang
back but she lures him close and pulls him into bed with her. she rubs her
foot on his chest and under his shirt up onto his neck. she brings her other
foot up and briefly massages his face in between them. when the doorbell rings
her legs tighten around his neck, also drawing his entangled shirt tight on
his neck. her annoyance is clear and she squeezes him harder as he frantically
tries to unbutton his shirt. once he does he is able to pry her choking legs
from his neck. he gasps out, "excuse me," and goes out to answer the door,
staggering unsteadily.

POSITIVES: good lighting, camerawork, and the acting is first-rate. like the
rest of the movie, this scene was comically dark. it was not entirely serious,
yet nearly fatal. this was not too surprising, considering that this comes
from Tobe Hooper, who directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

NEGATIVES: in a movie featuring two very pretty stuntgirls/lady wrestler
characters. (Tyra Banks!!!! and Gina Mari) the scissoring is left to Amanda
Plummer. no insult meant to Amanda, she's a truly awesome character actress. i
just think that Tyra or Gina might have been more athletically suited to play
this scene.
