movie mixed scissors scenes by dmg The 4th Tenor 2003 STARRING: Rodney Dangerfield Richard Libertini Annabelle Gurwitch Robert Davi Charles (voice of Roger Rabbit) Fleischer ACCESS: video and tv GENERAL DESCRIPTION: a singer tells a lovesick nightclub owner that she would love him if he could sing. He goes to Italy to learn how to sing and finds a magical wine that gives his voice wings. he also finds his true love, but at first does not recognize it. eventually he figures it out, and gives up his new voice to be with her. SCISSORS SCENE: a con man (Robert Davi) is pumping a beautiful singer (Annabelle Gurwitch) full of what he thinks is magic wine to improve her voice just before she is due to go on. not content with the many glasses of wine he keeps giving her, she grabs the bottle and starts chugging it down. there's a brief cut away to the bar. when they cut back to the dressing room we see Robert standing above her caught between her stockinged calves in a reverse headscissors! he has her high heels in his hands and it appears he was trying to put them on her feet when she trapped him. she is on her back with her legs up in the air holding him in her grip as she giggles hysterically. he is pleading with her to let go and she does, at which time he places the shoes on the drunken women's feet. POSITIVES: nice setup, slim but shapely legs (the stockings are a nice touch) on a pretty lady, good lighting, and very fine acting on both ends of the scissors. also, despite the negatives mentioned below, the movie is very entertaining and there are many fine moments, such as when Rodney Dangerfield stops at a table where two huge people are voraciously attacking their food. he stares at them, smiles and quips. "when you get to the white part stop! that's the plate!' NEGATIVES: the camerawork could have been better (bear in mind we actually join the scissors in progress. this could have been the directors idea of style, or something may have been left on the cutting room floor.) as happens with so many scissors scenes it is very short.
