ACCESS: it just hit the video shelves and the premium movie channels.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: the protector of the magical Tibetan scroll (Chow Yun
Fat) is looking for his successor and believes he has found him in a
streetwise young thief. he schools him in the ancient arts as a ruthless band
of third generation nazis pursue them both relentlessly.

SCISSORS SCENE: a confident young thief has broken into a mansion to return a
necklace he had stolen from a young beauty. he was intrigued with her as she
had fought very aggressively against him but later on saved him from a
streetgang. he finds her sleeping on the couch in an opulent, spacious living
room. coming up behind the couch he bends over it just a bit, smiles, and
starts whispering to her to wake her up. suddenly her legs shoot up and
scissor his neck. his hands reach up to grab her calves as he gasps, "shees",
but she is already flipping him over the couch. he lands on the floor on the
other side of the couch and she quickly pounces on him, straddles him, draws
back her right fist threateningly, and asks, "what are you doing here?" he
manages to flip her off and over him so he winds up kneeling above her head as
she lies flat on the ground. he waves the necklace over her face and asks,
"did you lose this?" she gymnastically brings her legs up above her head and
catches his neck again, this time in a reverse headscissors, as she replies,
"no, you stole it!" he groans and grimaces as he slowly pries her legs off of
his neck. he denies that he stole the necklace and hangs onto her feet,
presumably to avoid being caught in any more scissors, but she kicks him off.
he lands on his back and she scrambles atop him but facing away. she props her
body up on her arms and legs preventing him from moving. when he grabs her and
tries to roll out she quickly scissors her legs around his knees. she calls
him a liar as they roll around the floor. he seems to be surprised that,
although he is holding her from behind, her legs still have a tight grip on
him. she releases him and they both continue to banter back and forth as they
fight. he admits he took it so that he could give it back to her, and she ends
the struggle by flipping him over her shoulder to the floor, knocking him out.

POSITIVES: it's a nice long scene for a change. (i never get to say that!) she
puts him in 3 different scissors holds in one scene, which is a new record.
the girl is pretty, energetic, and dressed in a pair of gray pajamas with a
revealing midriff. the camerawork and lighting is fine, and even the love/hate
repartee between the two principals is above average. top notch!

NEGATIVES: the only possible negative here is that the third scissors may
leave you scratching your head. it's extremely unusual to say the very least
but it does not detract from the quality of the scene.
