movie mixed scissors scenes by dmg Sister Street Fighter 1975 STARRING: Sonny Chiba Etsuko (Sue) Shiomi Mie Hayakawa Sanae Obori Hsieh Hsiu Yung ACCESS: video only GENERAL DESCRIPTION: when a top secret agent goes missing, his sister goes undercover to find him. she runs into many vilains, including an assassin known as Hammerhead, but she gets unexpected assistance from none other than the Street Fighter himself, Sonny Chiba. this was his fourth Street Fighter movie. the movie has some excellent scenes but it most probably achieved cult status due to the often incredibly bad camera work and the sometimes amazing lack of continuity. SCISSORS SCENES: settle back and relax. there are 4 of them to tell you about! 1) Sue is approached by a group of young ruffians in a Yokohama noodle bar and a brawl erupts. after she hoists herself up to a sitting position on the bar she knocks ou her first two attackers and then paintbrushes the face of her next victim with her right foot. after slapping his face back and forth a few times she clamps his head between her feet briefly before releasing him with a parting kick. 2) Sue is hiding an injured female agent in the back room of a dance studio. a group of thugs wearing black wicker baskets on their heads (don't even ask) enter and demand to see the girl. when the dance instructor tells them to remove their shoes(!) the fight starts. at first she is overwhelmed but Sue quickly joins in. after dispatching four of them she punches #5 in the face three times, with the third punch spinning him around. she then leaps up onto his shoulders from behind and does a forward roll (see Kylie Minogue in Street Fighter) flipping him over her before she releases him with a vicious stomach punch. 3) this is the rarest of all birds. a male to female headscissors! (there's also one in Anaconda) during an all out melee, a female is fighting a slightly shorter male wearing black tights who does a forward headstand. his legs come up and he captures her head between his calves. (see Dance of Death or Mortal Kombat) he vibrates them rapidly and she cries out in pain but then she reaches around his leg and punches him directly in the family jewels. he collapses like a house of cards. (wouldn't you?) 4) in the movie's climax Sue fights the big boss on a rocky cliff overlooking the ocean. he leaps high into the air (see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and she follows. after trading blows at high altitude she tucks his head between her legs and tightens up as they descend. his head hits the ground first (kind of a piledriver from 50 feet or so up) and he is dead. it's unclear if she strangled him, broke his neck, or if it was the blow to the head that killed him. POSITIVES: none of these were that great individually, but four in one movie is hard to complain about. that makes it unique, and the male to female angle enhances it even more. NEGATIVES: each one was very short, but they got longer as the movie progressed, with the last one being the best. it's the only one where the male is held and squeezed for more than a second, and it does result in a kill. OVERALL RATING: **
