movie mixed scissors scenes by dmg Beautiful Joe 2001 STARRING: Sharon Stone Billy Connolly Gil Bellows Ian Holm GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Billy Connolly has title role as an ex-Dubliner living in NYC who finds out he may not have long to live. he then goes home to find his wife with another man. she also tells him she's leaving him because he is boring. after some soul searching he decides to go out and have adventures. he meets Hush (Sharon Stone) a wild single mom and falls in love with her and her two kids. they go on the run from a loan shark (Ian Holm) and his hench men. the action is sustained despite some hard to believe plot twists. despite the beginning, this guy winds up being luckier than Ferris Bueller! SCISSORS SCENES: Hush is an emcee at a "pay to mudwrestle girls" nightclub. as the scene opens we see that the huge mudpit takes up about 1/3 of the floor and three couples are getting "down and dirty". Hush is wearing a tight black outfit, a PA headset over a red wig, and is sipping martinis as she makes comments on the action. one of the girls is on her back in the mud when she swings her long legs up and wraps them around the neck of the male seated next to her. the camera briefly zooms closer but then cuts away to Hush who says, "ooh, Buxom Barb has got her warrior in a leglock!" they cut back as the mudcovered young lady pressures the hold on the struggling male. her supple calves squeeze his neck as we hear Hush continue,"is that a computer in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" as quickly as it started the scene ends as Hush calls for a round of applause for the wrestlers. POSITIVES: good setup, great camera work, outstanding lighting, a sexy but anonymous scissoress, and Sharon's teasing commentary definitely adds to it. NEGATIVES: the mud factor obscures the wrestler's identity somewhat but many would not consider this a negative at all. they did throw away a great opportunity later on when Joe got to wrestle three girls simultaneously. they cut away for over 90% of the match. we got to see just about nothing. as with most scissors scenes, it could have been longer.
