GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Bizarre sci-fi movie taken from the Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
novel about a man who beomes "unstuck" in time and has to live out the
traumatic events of his life in random order. these range from his youth when
he was a p.o.w. in WWII to a plane crash he survives to his elder years when
he is abducted by aliens and kept on their planet as a zoo exhibit!

SCISSORS SCENE: the old man is being kept by aliens in a living room setting
surrounded by a transparent dome through which you can see their planet's
rocky landscape. after the unseen aliens determine he is bored they "beam in"
a companion. Valerie Perrine suddenly appears in the nude. it's explained that
she is an exotic dancer who was whisked off an earth stage in mid-performance.
she is completely freaked out at finding herself on this planet listening to
an invisible alien as she tries to cover herself up. she goes beserk and leaps
on the back of the old man wrapping her legs around his body and her arms
around his neck. he is not nearly strong enough to support her weight and
sinks helplessly to the ground in the powerful griip of the athletic young
woman. as he gasps for air and paws weakly at her strong arms and legs she
interrogates him about their situation. with great effort he tries to explain
that he is also a prisoner there. he seems on the verge of losing
consciousness when she decides that he is not her enemy and relaxes her
powerful squeezing embrace. she releases her dual holds and sits in a yoga
like position as she cradles his head, runs her fingers through his hair, and
even gently presses his face against her breasts. he is in a helpless daze
from her attack but seemed to enjoy the way it ended.

POSITIVES: good setup, great camera work, energetic execution by Ms. Perrine
who, btw, looked fantastic, and it fit flawlessly into the fabric of this
offbeat movie.

NEGATIVES: no complaints at all.
