These Muscles are Strong Review by Caprishus, video 1995, Ray Martin Productions This one is strictly for beef lovers only. No vegetarians, no chickens allowed. If you've ever said about a female bodybuilder, "She's carrying too much bulk," you'll probably want to skip this tape. The 5-3 Sharon Marvel does this video at 175 pounds, her heaviest filmed weight. All bodyparts, especially her triceps, deltoids, torso and thighs, are engorged to almost maximum thickness. On the rear shots, an awesome detail is how much space is filled with muscle by the meeting of Sharon's humongous triceps and her massive lats. There's the impression that nothing less than a missile from a rocket launcher could dent the muscle of her chest. Even her neck looks so thick as to be invulnerable. There's only enough definition to deliniate the various muscle groups. I recall the line from a Grace Metalious book, "He exuded an aura of masculinity that almost choked Angelique." So it is here that Sharon exudes an almost choking aura of muscularity. The flyer advertising this video asks, "Can you handle Sharon as this massive weight?" and it's a valid question. You might find yourself cutting the video off several times before the end out of feeling overwhelmed. The video opens with Sharon in a velour (I think) one-piece with a short skirted section and two thin straps up top. She's playing pool, then stops, says she has a much better way to show off her body and begins flexing. Throughout this video, Sharon moves deliberately, giving the impression that she wants you to really drink in her mass and that someone with so much obvious power doesn't need to rush ("He moved in the lumbering manner of a big man who knew that people and events would wait for him." -- Nicholas Pileggi in the book Wiseguy about Paul Vario, on whom Paulie in GoodFellas was based.) During this first dress sequence around the pool table, Sharon does take time to give us her dimensions -- arms almost 17", thighs 27", calves 17" -- and brag about each bodypart as she features it for a couple of poses. I love dress and outfit scenes because it gives perspective as to the size of a bodybuilder vs. the size of an average woman. The effect is heightened here because the room is small and the pool table makes it smaller. Then, it's on to the gym for much heavy lifting. Some gym sequences I like, others I don't. Here, the gym sequence makes the video more complete, but does nothing for me. Sharon pushes some good iron in a gray leotard and cycle shorts, but I wanted to see more posing at this point. Strictly a personal thing, mind you, and if you're a gym scene person, this won't disappoint. Out of the gym and into a yard for much leotard posing. We start off in front of some bushes with Sharon posing and rubbing oil on herself. The camera gets in close at opportune moments, allowing us to feel the density as Sharon massages her muscles. Then, it's over to a tree for some lean-and-push against the tree poses. The monkey bars sustain Sharon for several poses and there's a nice series of poses while she sits on the bench. During most of the leotard posing, Sharon somehow comes off as coldly arrogant. It isn't offputting, it's just unsettling. We close with posing in a light blue cocktail dress and a sleeveless vest-hot pants combination in a small living room. In the latter outfit, there's a sexy series of poses on the sofa that makes you wonder how you would react if you were on the couch with her and she became aggressive in an amorous manner. Excellent posing video with nice variety on the outfits. The gym stuff is good. The woman is almost beyond belief physically. Give it five and a half of six reps.
