THE SLOW MOVER By Kamal Jane from Texas I am going to tell you a story. This one is a touchy one. This may help you making decisions fast, it may help you not to be a "slow mover." I was a new foreign undergraduate student in my college campus. Everything was new to me. I was a lonely man lost in a strange land. I was so homesick. I was so frustrated. Sometimes I just wanted to get lost from this strange crowd. I thought I have to do something about this. I used to work out at my home, back at my country. I know how it helped get out of my stress and depressions. I thought why done try the college gym. And may be that was the biggest mistake in my life. I contacted with the gym official. He was very much happy about my interest. He asked me to join the gym the very day. After attending my classes, at the morning. I went to the gym. There I got my membership cards and completed all other formalities. The instructor took me with him showed around the gym. It was just GREAT! I used to work out with primitive equipments back at my home. There were things that I read about only on books or magazines. I was just overwhelmed. But that was not ALL. But that was everything. There was something other that the gym itself. I was to meet the SURPRISE. There were lots of guys. Almost everyone bigger than me, stronger than me. I started feeling like a Micky Mouse. The instructor asked me to start with light weights, with lower repetitions. I just got ashamed of myself. I just told him I better take a look at the gym before starting up. He said, "Ok, then see you later. And good luck!" I was just walking around the gym. In a way I was regaining my faith in me. I thought after working out for couple of weeks, maybe I can catch up with them. At least I hoped so. I was watching everyone doing their reps. Some of the guys were really outstanding. I was impressed by them. But I was most impressed by a watching a girl. I never watched girls doing weight training. I only saw such pictures in muscle magazines. So, I got curious about the girls. There were five girls. Almost all of them seemed like beginners or may they were actually fitness competitors. But one of them was really conspicuous. She was tall. She had wide shoulders. And she really packed some muscles on her body. I was stunned. And there was something more. She had a very pretty face and deep deep green eyes. I just could not take my eyes off her. She was doing her bench press. I watched her bust thriving with powerful grace. She was sweating like anything. She employed all of her soul in her work out. I thought it to be the best thing I ever saw in my life. Such combination of beauty and power was actually unperceivable for a mortal like me. May be I was taken by too much flabbergasting. Other girls started laughing at me. Then I came to regain my own senses. I was so ashamed of myself. She stopped doing her reps. And took a long look at me. Eye to eye. With her deep green eyes. I could not took my eyes away from hers. I could not read her face. But at that same time I did not fell bad about myself either. I though it to be the best moment of my entire life. Next day I met her on the campus. She was wearing blue jeans and a sweat shirt. She was gorgeously standing out of the crowd on her own. I was shamelessly looking at her again. She noticed me. But I could not put enough courage to talk to her. How can I ? I was nothing comparing to her grace and beauty. Later I found more about her. I knew her name was Jane. She was from Texas. And that she was already a super star in her bodybuilding career. Everyone was speaking so high about her possibility to be national pro in no time. They also told me that she may stop studying to train harder. They told me she was that much serious. From that on I started to day dream about her all along my awaken hours. I could not move her off my mind. I used to laugh on my own thinking about her. I used to talk with her in my day dreams. I started going to the gym regularly, just to have a look at her. And I considered it to be my reason to live. I knew I was in love with her. I had a CRUSH on her, crush of a life time. Time to time from her looks, I knew she was also conscious about me. Whenever I looked at her, she also used to look at me, eyes to eyes. May be there was also a faint smile on her face. But I never dared to talk to her directly. She was a goddess to me. My goddess. One day I found out she was not at the gym. I thought may be she was sick or something. I could not dare to ask the other girls about her. I thought may be I can meet her the next day. I missed her so much ! I can never forget how painfully I spent the night painfully desolated. I could not suppress my pain anymore. Tears started to come out of my eyes. I knew I love her with all my soul. I knew I must MEET her. I slept the nigh sleeplessly. I get out of my apartment at 6 in the morning. I knew where she lived. Why shouldn't I ? I was her greatest fan! I knew almost all about her. I pressed the door bell. The door opened. There was an elderly woman. I asked he that I want to meet Jane. She told me, "But I am afraid, she just left for Texas, a few minutes ago. She is leaving the campus for doing her crazy stuffs. She is such a creep. Anyway, do you know her?" I told her, "I met her at the gym" The woman took a sharp look at me. I knew she hates bodybuilding like most elderly people. She told me "Then you really know her ! You may meet her at the bust stand, her bus will be leaving at 6:30. " And before closing the door she smiled and said "And, good luck !" I started running for the bus stop. I could see her from the distant. She was standing there with her boxes. She was staring at me. I stopped just in front of her. She seemed not to be startled. May be she could read me like child. I said " Hi!" She replied, "Hi !" , smiling mischievously. I said, " I think you know me, we met at the gym.. " She was still smiling. Taking a deep breath I said, " I am here to say some thing, some thing I always tried to tell you, but I could not dare. " I took a look at her green eyes. She was still smiling like an angel, I think I rather say a goddess. I took some time for me to bring out the courage. I told her looking down on the ground," Don't miss understand me ,but I can't live without you. I really can't" I thought she will explode in fury. May be she would punch my jaw off may face. But nothing happened. I took a look at her timidly. She was still smiling. But this time she was heaving with her laughs. She just told me, "You are a slow mover"
