The Toughest Match I Ever Had by Sharla Garcia (SharlaTx2@aol.com) Sharla wins a tough, hard fought match with Matt. Warning: I'm told I need to put this at the start but I don't see anything here that can't be read by anyone. There is less violence here than the evening news and my matches are rarely erotic will little allusions towards sex. But if you're under 18 just don't read this. O.K.? (How's that?) Start Note. I suppose, if you want to get technical, my toughest match would be some contest where I got the snot kicked out of me the entire time and couldn't muster up a proper defense. Those have happened to me, but I didn't think I wanted to dwell on those! So maybe a more proper title for what follows may be the "Toughest Match I Ever Had and Won". It was the closest I can ever remember to losing and still coming out on the plus side. It's the only match in my recollection where I actually considered just giving in and saying I'd had enough and then gathering myself and finding it within me to keep going. I'm glad I did. And thanks for all you guys who encouraged me to remember it here. Sharla Matt was coming over in a minute and I was busily moving the furniture in the den aside and getting everything ready. I spread some coverings and blankets over the floor to cut down on some of the rug burns, but it never helped enough to eliminate them all together. Like I usually am before a match I was excited and a little nervous. Matt promised to really push me and I knew I'd have to be aggressive and strong to beat him. The doorbell rang and I went to the door. Matt was there. I shook his hand and quickly led him in. I showed him around and where he could change if he wanted to but he said he was ready. He looked it. Matt was about 5'11" or maybe 6 feet tall and weighed about 185 pounds with dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes. Quite cute, but we hadn't had any real romantic inclinations between us at all. By seeing him work out in the gym I knew he was strong and in good shape. I may not be able to overpower him and would have to really go to wear him out. This was going to be fun! We talked for a while, both a little nervous and unsure how to start. We small talked for a while before we both decided it was time to go and we went to opposite corners of the room and stretched. He took off his shirt and I admired his hard, decently muscled body. I was in a one piece, black workout outfit that I liked to wrestle in because it showed off my body well but still stayed on all the crucial areas when I exerted real hard. As I looked over at him I saw that my muscles were comparably sized to his even though I was about 4 inches shorter and 25 pounds lighter than him. I knew that he knew my capabilities in the gym so I wasn't going to take him by surprise in that regard. I tied up my long, dark hair and tried to flex and move in a way to show him my size and see if I could intimidate him a little. My muscles are big, but not defined like a competitive bodybuilder and my shape makes me look like the powerlifter I used to be. It didn't work as he wasn't intimidated at all, but I think he appreciated the effort judging by his smile. We both watched each other as we stretched. I had seen he was flexible and quick from training and sparring with him in karate. It was during those sessions that we got to talking and became friends. He always came at me hard in class, didn't pull his punches and didn't mind being hit by a girl which seemed to make him an ideal opponent. Several times we had gone out for a quick drink after finishing the karate class we were both in. I told him about my interest in a nice, hard wrestling match and we had been verbally sparring with each other in a fun, teasing manner for a while when we decided to give wrestling a try. Since we were friends we decided it wasn't necessary to have a referee or extra person around just in case. We both trusted the other to just have a fun, clean match. As we finished stretching I saw him looking me over, in particular eyeing my rather large legs. I smiled and told him that he was right to be nervous about them. If I got him good with those legs he was done for. He just smiled and grunted back and told me he just wouldn't let me get him good with them then! I was serious though, I figured my biggest advantage would be in knowing how to apply a good hold with my strong legs. We went over the ground rules. No pins, each "fall" would go to a submission. The first to 5 submissions would win the whole match. After each fall there would be a couple minute rest. There was no hair pulling or punching or going for the eyes. Blatant choke holds weren't allowed but we both agreed that strangle holds weren't dirty and could be used. We shook hands and both wished the other good luck and for a fun match. Then we started. Matt circled to the left and quickly came at me. His aggressiveness caught me a little off guard. He had always seemed kind of the shy type, but not when wrestling I was finding. He grabbed me by the side and lifted me up and threw me down to the mat, hard. I landed with a whoof and struggled to keep my wits and whirled my legs in a sit out and quickly got some distance. Matt seemed to not expect me to move so quickly out of the throw and wasn't sure what to do next. I used the time to recover from the throw and come back at him. He met my advance and we locked arms in a classic lock-up. We both pushed and tried to shove at the other. I could see he was impressed with the way I held him off and even forced him backwards a few steps. He decided to not be macho and try to match my force and instead stepped back quickly and I stumbled towards him. He took that advantage to trip me and landed on me from behind. A little stunned I fought to get back my equilibrium and got to my knees and threw my arms at him to knock him off balance. He avoided my elbows and grabbed my left arm and twisted it high behind my back. OUCH! His weight was well placed on my back and I couldn't move my legs much as he forced me back down to the floor with the arm lock. I fought to get to my knees a few times but Matt slammed his body into me and knocked me back down each time. I tried to struggle and move but it only made the pain in my back and arm worse. After a few minutes of wild struggling I gave up. Matt patted me on the shoulder and got up quickly. "One for me," he said glibly and he walked around to stay loose. Matt was every bit as quick and strong and skilled as I had believed and I knew I was in for an even tougher match than I had thought. I resolved to double my efforts for the next fall. We started again and I quickly stepped in at Matt and tried to flip him over my hip. He blocked it and we struggled with neither of us getting an advantage. Finally he pushed me away and we stood apart. We both charged at the same time and we collided in the center of the room. The force knocked us both over and now we rolled on the floor jockeying for position with our arms and legs. We struggled and rolled for a long period before I got my arms and legs around him and pulled him in close and squeezed. I heard a satisfying gurgle from Matt and squeezed harder. He pushed with his arms and legs and after a bit he managed to wedge a space between us and pushed me away forcefully. I tried to roll up quickly but he was quicker and he dived at my legs and tripped me down. From underneath I got my legs around him and squeezed. He grunted momentarily but he pushed with surprising strength and pushed my back into the floor hard. He was able to position himself so my body was up where I couldn't seem to get any real leverage on him. Then, he put his hands in back of my legs and leaned forward, his weight on my thighs in a nice roll up pin. I flexed and strained and tossed side to side but I wasn't able to unseat him. With a huge effort, I managed to push and rock enough to get a little sideways. But he changed positions and put me back in the pin again very quickly and after a few more minutes of struggle I gave up for the second time. Now down 2-0 I started to worry I was in trouble. I was feeling a little winded and wondered if I had enough left to gain 5 submissions against this tough opponent. I had even got my legs on him a couple of times and he had been able to fight through them very nicely. I started to think about what moves I should try against him and wondered if they would work. As we came together for the next fall Matt looked expectant and had a little smile on his face. This gave me the energy to want to really go at him hard and let him know he was in for a fight. I charged in at him quickly and got my head under his one arm and my arms around his torso. Leaning back, I flexed my body for all it was worth and pulled down and threw Matt down onto his back. He hit the floor with a loud thud. I fell on top as he managed to roll onto his stomach. I secured myself on top of him and used the same move he had earlier on me. I grabbed his arm and held it high up on his back. He grunted and thrashed but slowed down as he felt that only increase the pain. He reached with his free hand but I avoided it and kept his legs and lower body still with mine. After a few minutes he gave up and I gladly rolled off and collected my breath. That fall had gone pretty quickly and I began to feel a little better about my chances. I'm not sure how much I had hurt him and I think he just gave in to conserve his energy and go for the next fall since he was still ahead. But he nodded and told me what a good hold I had gotten on him as we got ready for the next fall. I smiled and promised him it wasn't the last hold he would feel. The next fall lasted forever. We wrestled and grappled and rolled back and forth for the longest time with neither able to get a winning advantage. If I had his legs locked up he was able to trap my arms and hold me at a stalemate. And vice versa. We would try a hold, meet an impasse, and release it and try again. We both started to sweat heavily and the deep breathing was loud off the high ceilings of the room. After many minutes of this I was straddling Matt's body and trying to get him over. My legs were on either side of his body and I was using my arms to try and roll him on his back with a half nelson. Using a big effort, he grunted loudly and pushed sideways and I fell off to the side. Standing up slightly, he leapt at me and landed on top of me with his elbow going into my side. I cried out in pain as he quickly moved in behind me and put his hands under my chin and sat back lifting my head and neck up. I cried out as the pain was excruciating and quickly gave up after pawing ineffectually at him with my hands. We rested for a few minutes after that long fall. I twisted and tried to get the soreness out of my back. "I'm sorry, was I too rough with that hold?" Matt asked. "No," I answered simply. "Good hold, Matt." But inside I was starting to think I was done and that at least I had won a fall so I wouldn't be shut out. He was breathing hard and sweating as I looked over at him but he appeared more than ready to continue. I didn't feel as good. I remember thinking "at least I made him struggle". I shook those thoughts out of my head and got up for the next fall. I felt a little unsteady on my feet yet after the exertions of the last fall but I decided to give it all I had left. But frankly I wasn't too convinced it was going to do much good. We both came right at each other and I kicked out my foot in a sweep at him and pushed in with my arms. To my surprise he flew backwards and landed hard on his back. I dived on top but he managed to lift his legs up and push me aside. We both scrambled to our feet but I was a little quicker and ran up to him while he was still in a crouching position. I got my arms around him and squeezed a headlock. He strained and pushed and pounded me in the back a little as I leaned down and got him to the floor. He seemed to lose concentration and forgot to watch my legs as I snaked them around him and pushed his head down hard and put it between my legs. I crossed my ankles and flexed and squeezed my legs for all I was worth. He pawed at my legs and gasped as if surprised that he had gotten there. After just a moment or two he gave up. Again, I don't think I had really hurt him too much and that he had just realized he was trapped and had given up to conserve energy for the rest of the match. But it made me realize I still had the strength and that if I got him in the right holds I could beat this man. That thought energized me as I got ready for the next fall. This time it was me with the little grin as I helped him up and he slapped my hand in congratulation of a good move as we got ready for the next attempt. As it started I again came out real quick and charged Matt and tried to throw him as I had in the last fall. He avoided or blocked my moves and instead got me off balance and down to the floor by hooking his arms under me and lifting up until I was on my tiptoes and then pushing me down to the floor. As I went down I managed to grab a hold of him around the waist and we rolled around again for a long time with no one gaining an advantage. I tried to get my legs around him but he slapped my legs away and, off balance, I fell back on my back. Moving his body quickly he got on top of me and applied a good cross body pin. He spread his legs wide and pressed into me hard as his body lay on and over me. I pushed and squirmed and despaired that I couldn't seem to move out of the hold. He leaned over me even harder and I found it hard to draw in breath as his body smothered me and pressed into my chest and neck. I leaned, pushed, kicked and almost screamed in effort but he held firm. I circled my legs and tried to use them for leverage but he was too well situated and kept me pinned. Just as I was about to give up I managed to get my head and neck turned sideways where, still trapped, I could at least breathe. (Looking back, I think if I had l given up then and gone behind 4-2 that I would never have won the match). Gathering myself I rested for a minute and then put out a big effort to get away. Aided by the sweat all over both of us I pulled and my head popped out and I jumped on top of him. I heard Matt mutter "Damn" and in passing I saw a look of surprise and maybe even admiration on the man's face as he had clearly not expected me to be able to get out of that pin. But I was tired, I could have imagined that's what he was thinking. We again rolled and struggled for dominance. I got his body in front of me, his back to me, and I managed to get my legs around his waist. He sat up and swung his arms back at me. I grabbed them and cinched in a full nelson and pulled him closer to me and really squeezed the body scissors. Matt grunted and groaned and struggled against the dual hold but couldn't move. With both his legs and arms held like that he couldn't do much but push and struggle and sway back and forth. He was stuck but I didn't seem able to squeeze hard enough to make him give. I didn't think he was going to give and just as I was considering what hold I should change this into, he muffled a surrender. Surprised I asked him to say it again. "I give already," he said a little louder, sounding a touch annoyed. I released him and apologized that I truly didn't hear him the first time. He nodded and we took a short rest before continuing. It was tied 3-3 now but I had changed the momentum and I felt like I was in control. He was breathing extremely hard and looked a little leery of continuing. This was confirmed in the next fall. I was clearly the aggressor and Matt was in more a defensive mode just trying to stop me from getting a good grip on him. It was obvious he was tiring and I was buoyed by that and pushed at him hard. After another long struggle we both pushed the other away and got to our feet. His hair was tossed and messy and sweat dripped off him and I saw him look down at his leg. Using that chance I charged in at him and basically dived at him. He looked up in time and caught me, but he was back on his heels and my momentum pushed us over and he landed hard on his back with me on top. I think he had the wind knocked out of him a little as he sucked in breath loudly and didn't resist much as I got on top of him while he was still on his back. I twined my legs in his and got my feet around his legs and pulled his legs apart as far as I could. I pressed my chest hard into his chest. My hands reached up under his chin and lifted his head and twisted it to the side as hard as I could. He never really tried to roll me off and was still breathing hard as I lifted and turned his head hard to the side while pressing hard with my body and legs to keep him from being able to move. He grunted loud in pain and pawed at my hands for a moment but then quickly gave up over and over. "I give, I give, I give," he yelled and I rolled off with a little laugh. I hadn't realized how much I could hurt him with that hold. (It's become my favorite hold since then and is very effective against most opponents.) I gave him a few extra minutes rest before we started again and I think he was a little reluctant. That last hold may have actually intimidated him now and he was now showing signs of being extremely tired which must have made him feel like he might not be able to come back. I was ahead 4-3 now and feeling good, tired and sore, but good. I resolved to make this the final fall and end it now while he was doubting himself. I knew better than to take him lightly and needed to keep up the pace and aggressiveness. To his credit he came at me hard when we started but when I managed to trip him down after a bit he seemed to stop trying. He stayed there as I quickly climbed up his body and put his head between my legs and started to squeeze. I crossed my legs and leaned back and really cranked it with whatever I had left. He pawed and rolled but soon stopped moving and just laid there. He was still conscious but he wasn't trying to get out, but he hadn't given up yet either. "Matt?" I asked. "Okay," he said with obvious reluctance in his voice. "I give. You win." I gave out a little shout, lifted my arms in triumph, and rolled off Matt and collapsed. I laid on the ground collecting myself for a moment. It had been a tough, grueling match and my body really felt it. My chest heaved for breath and now I could really feel the soreness already creeping into my muscles. I had begun to doubt whether I could win but I had managed to suck it up and keep going and pull out a victory over a tough opponent. I was really proud of myself and my effort. It felt so good to struggle that hard and come out on top. I was on Cloud 9! As I got to my feet, I saw Matt had gotten to a sitting position with his back to me. I thought he might be having a hard time handling that he had just been beaten in a wrestling match by a woman - and one smaller than him as well. I hoped I hadn't spoiled any chance we had at a continuing friendship but I was still glad I had given it my all and won the match. I never know what to say in this situation that doesn't sound condescending so I just crossed in front of Matt and held out my hand. I was worried he might be embarrassed or mad but I needn't have worried. He looked up and saw me standing there with my hand out and he smiled and let out a big breath. "Wheew, great match Sharla," he told me and grabbed my hand and let me pull him up. We hugged and I could feel the sweat pool between our bodies. He pulled us apart a little and looked at me and added, "But I'm going to get you next time!" I laughed and clapped him on the shoulder and told him "In your dreams, big guy." My respect for him soared as I saw how he handled the loss and just decided to try even harder next time. I led him to a shower and after we had both cleaned up we went back to the den and compared rug burns and other injuries and relived the match over some beers. We wrestled 3 more times and he did manage to beat me once. My overall record against him was 3-1 before he moved out of the area but none of the matches were as tough and tiring as that first one we had. End Note. (thanks to Miles Endeavor for writing large portions of this as I told it to him and for pushing me to write the rest. And for getting me to participate on the message boards to start with. It's been fun so far!) In this first story Miles encouraged me to make it a match against a guy where I won. So I did, but if he doesn't stop telling me what to do I'll tell y'all what happened when I wrestled HIM! Hee hee hee. Actually, he wasn’t a bad little wrestler, although his girlfriend is a far tougher opponent.
