Tara, The Jungle Amazon: Part 5 by M.C. After her tug-of-war with an elephant, Tara has to deal with two escaped polar bears. The trainer of the massive, five-ton Indian elephant began to lower his arm, signaling that the tug-of-war was about to begin. Tara, the powerful six foot-six inch, 350 pound jungle Amazon, gripped the rope as tightly as she could. She then leaned back, planted her feet firmly into the ground and prepared herself for the ultimate test of strength - a one-on-one tug-of-war against this, the most powerful of land animals. When the trainer's arm was completely down, the huge beast (Simba) began to pull forward while Tara began to pull back. The entire crowd in the packed arena stood in stunned silence as the beautiful woman matched the elephant's tremendous strength and neither one seemed able to get the other to move. After a few seconds, even the most skeptical person in the audience could see that this was clearly not an act but a bona-fied test of strength between the super strong woman and the elephant in which, unbelieveably, the incredible female appeared to be holding her own. For about a minute they struggled on even terms, then Simba slowly began to move forward; dragging Tara forward with him. Although it was difficult for him, the elephant clearly appeared to be winning now. The Amazon dug in her heels and strained even harder - there were two groves in the ground several inches deep where her heels had been dragged along - but, slowly but surely, the elephant appeared to be triumphing over the woman. Then, as Tara approached the line which would mark the end of their contest, she heard a girl's voice cry out,"come on Tara, you can do it!" It was Brenda, and her cry was immediately taken up by nearly all of the spectators - "come on Tara," they screamed, "fight, FIGHT!" Whether it was the encouragement she recieved from Brenda and the audience, or the fact that, after more than two minutes of intensive struggling the elephant's strength began to wane, Tara dug in her heels again and, with a tremendous burst of raw female power, stopped the massive animal in his tracks...just two feet short of the line. Then, after several more seconds of effort in which neither of them gave an inch, the amazing woman slowly began to pull the five-ton elephant backwards; much to the delight of the cheering crowd. "Go Tara Go!" they yelled at the top of their lungs,"Go Tara Go!" It was a sight none of those in attendence would ever forget - the large, powerfully built woman pulling the huge elephant backwards by the sheer strength of her amazingly strong arms and legs. After another minute, Tara managed to pulled Simba back to the point at which their contest began. Well aware that her opponent was weakening now, the seemingly tireless Amazon continued to drag him backwards. Now it was the elephant's turn to dig his feet into the into the ground in an effort to stave off defeat - the groves he left measured over a foot wide and nine inches deep. But the mighty jungle woman would not be denied. With the entire crowd screaming out,"TARA! TARA! TARA!" the awesome female dragged the elephant across the line that the announcer had drawn. She had done it! Tara had beaten the enormous pachyderm in a test of physical strength! Brenda was the first to congratulate her. Squealing with delight, the teenager ran up and threw her arms around her victorious friend. "You did it Tara! You did it!" she shouted."You were magnificant! Totally awesome!" Hand-in-hand, they then walked over to where the elephant was lying; completely exhausted. "That was a very good fight we had Simba," Tara said, well aware that he probably couldn't understand what she was saying. Tara leaned over and gave her vanquished opponent a hug. But when she noticed that Simba was having a great deal of difficulty getting to his feet, the mighty woman decided to assist him. First, she squatted down and placed her hands against the elephant's side. Then she leaned into him and began to push forward with her powerful legs while, at the same time, push up with her equally strong arms. As the crowd watched in amazement, the super strong woman slowly began to raise the five-ton elephant off the ground at an angle. She continued to push him until her arms were fully extended, then supported him in that position until he was able to stand up on his own. "That's a good boy Simba," Tara said,"now go and have yourself a nice rest. Maybe we can do this again sometime; I really enjoyed it." Before being led off by his trainer to recuperate, Simba put his trunk into a pool of water and shot out a stream at the woman who had bested him in their test of strength; drenching her completely. "I'll remember this the next time you and I meet," Tara said with mock sterness; and added with a smile,"I may even have to give you a good spanking you naughty boy." The crowd began to laugh hysterically when she said this, then cheered as the awesome woman and her small friend - both soaked from head to toe - left the elephant arena. "That wasn't very nice of Simba," Brenda remarked, trying her best to hide her ire as she and Tara re-entered the main part of the zoo,"he must be a really sore loser." "I don't think that's the reason he sprayed us Brenda. I think it was just Simba's way of saying, 'have a nice day girls'. I didn't get the feeling that he was being vindictive at all. Anyway, it's rather hot here and after that little *workout* of mine, I found it very refreshing; didn't you?" "Refreshing? You call being showered with elephant snot refreshing? I don't think so. And how do you know what Simba was thinking Tara? Until an hour ago you didn't even know what an elephant was." "That's true Brenda, I didn't know what an elephant was. But they are very similar to the mammoths we have on my island; only our mammoths are much larger." "Mammoths? You have mammoths on your island? I thought they were extinct. What do you do with them?" "Usually we leave them alone and they leave us alone. But occasionally, when my tribe needs food, I have to go out and kill one," Tara said casually. "You kill mammoths? How?" "It's simple Brenda - I look for a very old one whose going to die soon anyway and smash his skull with my club. For him it's quick and painless, and it saves him the trama of either a long, slow death or being torn apart by other predators. Then my people will have enough food for at least a month without my having to hunt again. Have you ever slept under a blanket made from mammoth's fur on a cold winter night? They're by far the warmest; much better than a saber-tooth tiger's, and they make the most comfortable rugs too. When Tara saw the surprised look on the teenage girl's face, she smiled and added softly,"Brenda, on my island this is what I do. I guess you'd call it my *job* - to protect and provide for the people of my tribe; as my mother did before me, and her mother did before her...and so on as far back as anyone can remember." "How many people are there in your tribe?" "I don't know for sure, but I would guess around 500 or so - and they are all my responsibility." For the first time, the modern, 21st century teenage girl looked at her huge, superstrong friend and realized the tremendous curtural gap that existed between them. She, who had spent her entire carefree life in Southern California, could not possibly comprehend the kind of life Tara had lived on her remote, isolated island; nor the huge responsibility this mighty woman had resting on her shoulders - that of the safety and well being of her entire tribe."I'm - I'm sorry," Brenda said,"I didn't realize exactly what it is was you do. I thought this 'isolated island' thing you talked about was just a joke." "That's O.K. Brenda," Tara said as she gently took her friend by the hand,"I don't expect people in this civilization of yours to understand who I am or what I do. Compared to yours, our lives are very primative." "What do you mean Tara?" Before she had a chance to answer the young girl's question, the sounds of people yelling and screaming suddenly shot out. Turning their attention towards the commotion, Tara and Brenda saw a group of people running towards them with looks of panic on their faces."What's the problem?" Tara asked a man as he ran by her. "The polar bears have escaped," he screamed,"run for your lives!" Close behind the fleeing crowd, they saw two very large, snow white animals coming in their direction; growling as they came. "Now that wasn't very nice of you was it?" Tara calmly said as she stood in front of the approaching bears with her hands on her hips,"scaring all these people. It looks like I'm going to have to do something about the two of you." She looked over at Brenda."You stay off to the side little one, I'll take care of these brutes." "Be careful Tara, I read that polar bears can be really mean and nasty." "I'll try to be careful," the large Amazon said and added with a grin,"with the bears that is." She turned around to face the two huge animals who were now only a few feet away from her."If you boys will be so kind as to accompany me back to your nice, cosy home, I won't have to get rough with you." As if on cue, the two fierce carnivores - each of which weighed nearly 1500 pounds - stood up on their hind legs (towering to a height of nearly nine feet) and closed in on the fearless woman. "Very well then,"Tara sighed,"I guess we'll have to do this your way. But remember, I warned you." The bear closest to Tara took a swipe at her with his gigantic paw, but the surprisingly agile woman easily backed out of his reach. When the bear's forward momentum sent him down on all fours, Tara quickly stepped forward and punched him several times in the nose with her rock solid fists; forcing the large creature to back up."You'll have to be faster than that to catch me," she laughed. The second bear tried to attack her from behind; big mistake. Tara whurled around and drove her right fist deep into his stomach. Such was the power of her blow that the bear began to keel over. As he did, the muscular six foot-six inch, 350 pound Amazon connected with a hard right hook to his jaw. Tara's punch spun the huge creature completely around. Somehow he managed to stay on his feet for a few more seconds; staring in shock at the strong and beautiful woman standing before him. Then the lights went out and he fell, unconscious, to the pavement. Tara knocked him out with just two punches."Pleasent dreams sweetie pie. That's one down and one to go." She turned to face the first bear again who, furious at being bested in their earlier encounter, charged forward. The mighty Amazon decided to meet his charge head-on this time and slammed right into the 1500 pound bear. "THUD!" It was like two huge linemen crashing into each other in a football game - only these two titans were much bigger; and much, much stronger. Tara, fresh from her victory over a five-ton elephant, sent the polar bear reeling backwards. Momentarily stunned, he rose to his feet and roared out loudly."O.K. big boy, let's see what kind of a bear hug you've got there." Tara stepped forward and wrapped her powerful arms around his waist (or at least as far around his waist as her arms would reach). The huge carnivore did the same. Brenda stood off to the side and watched in awe - as did hundreds of spectators who gathered around to view this unique event. Not fifteen minutes earlier, Brenda's amazing friend defeated a hugh elephant in a tug-of-war. Now, she was taking on two polar bears, one of which she had already knocked out cold. Was there nothing this incredible woman could not do? "Tara, you're awesome!" Brenda yelled. "Thanks," she smiled,"but this really isn't such a big deal; Simba was much more of a challenge." Tara's head was about the only thing visible to Brenda, the rest of her was engulfed within the bear's massive arms. But even though the huge animal appeared to be squeezing with all his might, the smile never left Tara's beautiful face. "O.K. my big, furry friend," Tara said as she looked up at the huge animal that towered over her,"now it's my turn." She then began to squeeze with all of her power and the huge carnivore soon found himself totally outclassed by the woman's superior strength. After about twenty seconds his arms fell uselessly down at his sides; Tara was the only thing holding him up now. She released her grip on him and the bear, much weakened from her *Tara hug* (as she would jokingly refer to it from now on) fell down on all fours front of her. Tara lifted up her right leg and put it around the bear's neck; trapping his head in-between her powerful thighs. With her hands on her hips again, the mighty woman began to apply pressure with her legs; easily ignoring the bear's now feeble attempts to dislodge her. "Please don't hurt him Tara," Brenda called out,"he was just doing what bears do." "Don't worry little one, I'm not going to hurt him. I'm just going to put him to beddie bye." After a few more seconds the fierce animal's resistance stopped entirely. Tara opened her legs and the unconscious bear slumped to the ground. As a sign of her victory, the invincible Amazon put one of her powerful legs on his head and flexed her awesome muscles for the cheering crowd. "Tara, you're the best," her 15 year-old friend giggled as she stared down at the two enormous bears lying on the ground."What are you going to do with them now?" "I think we should take them back to their *home* so they can sleep this off. Which one would you like to carry Brenda?" "I think I'll just carry your purse if you don't mind." "Lazy girl," Tara laughed,"in that case I guess I'll have to take them both myself." She bent down and grabbed one of the unconscious bears by the back of his neck with her right hand and the other with her left. The amazing woman then began to drag the two huge animals - nearly 3,000 pounds! - towards their habitat. "So Brenda, what do you say? Four bank robbers, an elephant and two polar bears; not bad for one afternoon's work. This civilization of yours sure keeps a girl in good shape; tee, hee, hee." 30 minutes later... Joan pulled her car up to the entrance of the zoo; Brenda and Tara were already waiting. "Well girls, how was it?" she asked. "Oh you know mom, the usual zoo stuff...lots of animals." "I see; and what were your favorite animals Tara?" "Hmmm...I think I'd have to say either the elephant or the polar bears; they were both fun to play with (giggles). "Fun to play with? Oh, I get it; it's a joke right?" Tara and Brenda looked at each other and smiled. "Mom, tomorrow can Tara and I go to Venice Beach?" "Gee honey, I don't know if that's such a good idea. There have been sightings of some Great White Sharks in the area. It could be very dangerous to go into the water." "Sharks, shmarks; whose afraid of a few big fish?" "It's no laughing matter Brenda. The Great White Shark is the most feared predator in the ocean. I've heard that some of them can grow to more than 20 feet long and weigh over two tons." Brenda smiled at her large, incredibly strong new friend."We'll be careful, won't we Tara?" "Yes Brenda, we will. I'll look after your daughter and make sure no harm comes to her." "In that case I guess it'll be O.K." End of part 5 Coming soon: A pleasent day at the beach or, Tara meets a Great White Shark.
