The Strength Contest by M.C. Two powerful women test each other’s strength - in a rather unusual way. Jane and Sally are the best of friends. Just one week apart in age, these 30 year-old women have shared virtually their entire lives together. Growing up on the same block, attending the same schools (from grade school right through college where they were roommates), they are now living in a nice home that they bought together. Jane is a brunette with short curly hair, while Sally is a blond who usually ties her long, beautiful locks into a ponytail. They have many things in common. But the perhaps the most amazing thing these two women share is that they are both very large and strong...incredibly strong! In fact these two large and powerful females - Jane is six feet-two inches tall and weighs 235 pounds, while Sally stands six foot-three and weighs in at 240 - are the stars of their own strong- women act in a circus. But even that doesn't explain the amazing physical strength of these two women. For Jane and Sally aren't just the strongest women in the world, they are the strongest people - male or female - period. In their circus act they routinely challenge ten of the strongest men in the audience to a tug of war, and they always beat them - giggling with each other as they pull these big, strong men across the line. Once they even beat the entire offensive line of a professional football team and then the defensive line - with no rest in-between! (After this humiliation, the N.F.L. issued a ruling prohibiting any of their players from competing against these super strong women). How these two females became so strong is a mystery that nobody seems to understand. They have been examined and tested by many experts - blood tests, cellular structure, and DNA just to name a few. But all the experts are still completely baffled. They simply can't come up with any scientific explanation for Sally and Jane's incredible physical strength. All that is known is that sometime after the girls turned ten, something very strange must have happened to them as they began to get unusually large and strong. But whenever they are asked about how they acquired their amazing abilities, the girls would simply look at each other and giggle - as if they're sharing a secret that only they know. So, for now at least, the mystery of how these women acquired their tremendous strength remains unsolved. Since they are far stronger than the strongest men, Sally and Jane can only be challenged by each other - and they're always searching for different ways to do so. Arm wrestling, girl-against-girl tug of wars (with chains instead of ropes as the ropes would sometimes break, such was their strength), friendly wrestling matches and weightlifting. They also sometimes look for other, more creative ways to challenge each other too. Interestingly, Jane and Sally appear to be virtually equal in strength. The winner of their challenges often depends on the nature of the discipline. Jane, being the better wrestler, usually (but not always) prevails in their wrestling matches. Sally, on the other hand, seems to have more endurance; so in a tug-of-war she usually outlasts Jane. In arm wresting Sally, being right-handed, always wins on her side while the lefty Jane always wins on hers. The problem with lifting weights is that there are no bars that can handle the immense weight that these women can lift without bending. After all, have you ever seen a bar with several tons of weights on it? In short, Sally and Jane appear to be pretty much equal in strength. One day the girls decided to take a walk down to the zoo which was located not too far from where they lived. They heard that an amazing new exhibit had just opened and they wanted to see it (both Sally and Jane love animals). They entered the zoo and walked over to the new exhibition and - lo and behold - it was a dinosaur exhibition...with real live dinosaurs! How could this be? Didn't they all die out when a meteor slammed into the earth some 63 million years ago? And yet here they were. How was this possible? The answer was written at the entrance to the exhibition. It seems that not all the dinosaurs were wiped out by the meteor and it's catastrophic aftermath. There was an isolated island located in the Southern Pacific where a small colony of dinosaurs did survive. Incredibly, that island remained completely unknown to the outside world until only a few years ago when it was discovered by a team of American geologists searching for oil. Imagine their shock when they discovered dinosaurs instead! Teams of paleontologists were sent to study them and it was decided to bring several specimens of dinosaur species back to the United States to show off this amazing discovery - including two ferocious Tyrannosaurs Rexes. Sally and Jane stood at the edge of the railing before a large compound. Twenty feet below them were two huge, mean looking Tyrannosaurs (for abbreviation purposes they will also sometimes be referred to as T-Rexes). As they read the description of the T-Rex that was written on the large placard near-by, Sally said to her friend,"it says here that the T- Rex was the fieriest creature ever to walk the earth. They really don't look so tough to me Jane." When she heard her friend say this, Jane began to giggle. "What's so funny?'' Sally asked. "I just had a great idea for our next strength challenge Sally. Let's each choose one of these so-called ferocious beasts and then jump down and fight them; and whoever knocks out their T-Rex first is the winner." When she heard this Sally too began to giggle. "Why what a lovely idea Jane. Yes, let's do it; tee, hee, hee." The two powerful women tied their hair back into ponytails (so that their hair wouldn't get in their eyes while they were fighting the dinosaurs), climbed up onto the railing and jumped down the twenty feet to the compound. As they began to walk towards the huge, ferocious beasts, Sally calmly said to her friend,"I'll take the one on the right, the other one is yours. O.K.?" "As you wish Sally. So let's go over the rules again. The first girl to knock out her T-Rex is the winner. Right?" "Yes. Seems simple enough to me Jane. We start on three. Ready? One...two...three..." POW! WHAM! Almost simultaneously the two powerful women smashed their rock-hard fists into their huge opponents' abdomens (Jane with her left fist and Sally with her right), eliciting a blood-curdling roar out of both of them. But such was the power of their punches that the ferocious beasts keeled over, thus enabling the girls to punch them in the jaw (a Tyrannosaurs Rex stands about twenty feet tall, so punching them in the jaw would be difficult for the girls if he was standing upright). CRACK! CRUNCH! With a few more mighty blows, these remarkable women snapped the heads of the creatures back and knocking out several of their teeth in the process. After that, Sally and Jane resorted to different - but equally effective - tactics against their respective opponents. With her T-Rex momentarily stunned by the power or her punches, Jane moved forward. She wrapped her powerful arms around one of his legs and lifted him up; then tossed the now off-balanced beast to the ground. Sally, on-the-other hand, ran around behind her equally stunned dinosaur and grabbed him by the tail. And in an awesome display of her amazing strength, she flipped him up over her head and slammed him down to the ground. Jane, with her T-Rex on his back now, leaped up on top of him and sat herself down on the underside of his neck and began pummeling him with her fists. As her T-Rex tried to get up, Sally, still holding him firmly by the tail, slammed him down again on the other side. "How's it going kiddo?" Sally casually asked her friend as she continued to slam the huge dinosaur back and forth on the ground. "Great!" Jane replied as she continued to bash her equally helpless T-Rex in the jaw with her mighty fists. "This is fun. Aren't you glad I suggested it?" "Yes Jane, I certainly am. This was a fantastic idea; tee, hee, hee." THUD! Sally slammed her dinosaur to the ground once again. By now the dinosaur's once ferocious roars were reduced to nothing more than pathetic shrieks; but the girls hardly seemed to notice. Jane stopped punching her T-Rex for a few moments and glanced over at her friend to see how she was doing. "Sally, I just love the way your ponytail swishes around while you're slamming your T-Rex back and forth. Your hair is always so soft and fluffy." "Thanks kiddo." SLAM! "You should let your hair grow long too. I'll bet it would be as pretty as mine if you did." SLAM! Aware the she might lose the contest if she didn't continue, Jane resumed punching out her dinosaur. PUNCH! PUNCH! PUNCH! But that didn't stop the conversation she was having with Sally. "My hair just doesn't seem to have the texture and softness that yours has." PUNCH! PUNCH! PUNCH! SLAM! "Maybe that's because you're just too lazy to take proper care of your hair Jane." Sally then slammed her battered T-Rex to the ground one more time - this time knocking him unconscious. "I win!" she cried out as she flexed her awesome muscles as a sign of her victory. "I knocked out my dinosaur out first!" POW! Jane knocked her dinosaur out just a few seconds later. "No fair Sally. I call foul." "No way kiddo. I won this one fair and square. What are the grounds for your objection?" Jane untied her hair and calmly fluffed it up, then said, "First of all you distracted me with your ponytail swishing around and that caused me at least two punches. And second, how do we know which of these T-Rexes was the tougher one? Maybe it was mine. Therefore it would have taken me more time to knock him out; wouldn't it?" Sally walked over to her friend who was still sitting on her battered T-Rex (understand, that the Tyrannosaurs Rex is considered to be the fiercest creature ever to have walked the earth - and Sally and Jane battered them both unconscious while casually carrying on a conversation with each other...about their hair!). "Excuses, excuses Jane. You're just being a sore loser, that's all." Jane giggled as she slid down off the unconscious dinosaur's neck and walked over to her friend. "I know," she said as the two mighty women engaged in a long, passionate hug. "But you have to admit it was close. I was just one punch away from winning." "Hmmm...tell you what Jane - let's let these two beasts recover from the beating we just gave them for a couple of weeks. Then we'll come back and fight them again - only next time I'll fight your T-Rex and you'll fight mine. I'll even braid my hair so you won't be so distracted. Deal?" "It's a deal Sally. Now let's go home and cuddle. After all, there's nothing like beating up mean ole dinosaurs to put a girl in a sexy mood." Leaving the two battered, unconscious dinosaurs lying on the ground behind them, Sally and Jane climbed out of the compound and, hand-in-hand, began walking home; giggling like little girls as they went. Later that afternoon: Jane was lying on her back, running her fingers through Sally's long, beautiful blond hair as her lifelong friend lay on top of her. And while she was doing so, Sally was gently sucking on Jane's large, firm breasts. "I just loved the way your beautiful hair was swishing around while you were beating up your dinosaur today Sally," Jane said softly. "You already told me that cupcake." "I know, but I'm telling you again; for emphasis. When we fight those dinosaurs again please don't braid your hair...I so love it in a ponytail." "You know Jane, those Tyrannosaurs Rexes were supposed to be fierce, horrible beasts. But personally I found them to be a disappointment. They were way to easy to beat up." "I know Sally, I felt the same way. But still, it was fun, wasn't it?" "Yes, cupcake; it sure was. Tell you what, the next time we fight them let's not compete against each other. We'll just have some more fun with with them. O.K?" "Deal." While the two incredibly strong women continued to embrace each other and engage in 'pillow talk', a small rock located on the table next to their bed was emitting a strange, reddish glow. Sally glanced over at it. "Do you think we made the right decision about our rock Jane?" "You mean about keeping it a secret?" "Yes." "Definitely Sally. If we had told anybody about it, they would have taken it away from us and god only knows what they would have done with it. Yes, we definitely made the right decision." Jane reached over and picked up the glowing rock. "And besides Sally, it's very pretty isn't it?" Prequel: Twenty years earlier The small meteor that had been traveling through the vast reaches of space for uncounted millennium began to heat up as it entered the atmosphere of the planet which, quite by chance, it encountered. As it descended, it began to glow brighter and brighter. It would have probably burned up in the atmosphere completely had it not struck the planet's surface first. BOOM! But because it crashed in an open field in a rural area, nobody heard it when it landed - nobody that is except the two ten year-old girls who just happened to be playing near-by. "What was that noise Jane?" Sally asked her playmate and best friend. "'I don't know Sally. Let's go and see." They walked over to where the sound came from and were confronted by a very strange sight. In the small crater that the meteor had made upon impact (now technically called a meteorite because it reached the ground), the two girls saw a very unusual object that appeared to be some sort of rock. But what was even more unusual about it was that it was glowing in a bright red hue. And as they approached the strange object, Jane and Sally suddenly began to feel a weird sensation - some sort of heat (radiation actually) appeared to be emanating from the object and entering their bodies. "What is this Jane?" Sally asked her friend. "And what is this weird thing I'm feeling?" "I don't know Sally, but I'm feeling it too." Jane picked up the small, glowing rock and carefully looked at it. "Whatever it is, it sure is pretty. Let's take it home with us and we'll examine it some more." Jane put the strange rock in her pocket and the two girls walked home. As they were neighbors, they went to Sally's house as it was the closest, went into her bedroom and closed the door. Jane took the rock out and placed it on Sally's bed. "I'm still feeling this weird sensation Jane," Sally said. "Are you?" "Yes. Whatever this thing is, it's doing something to us." "Do you think it's dangerous?" "I don't know. But I don't feel bad. In fact, I feel good; very good actually. How about you?" "I also feel good...and somewhat stronger." "Yes, me too. So what should we do about this rock?" The two girls thought about it in silence for awhile before Jane finally said,"you know Sally, if we tell people about this, they'll probably take it away from us; and then we'll never see it again." "I was thinking the same thing Jane. Maybe we shouldn't tell anyone. Keep it our little secret; just between you and me." "It's a deal. Let's take an oath Sally, that neither of us will ever reveal to anybody else what we found today." The two girls then shook each other's hand and swore that they would never to reveal to anyone what they would eventually come to understand was the source of their incredible physical strength. Author's Note: This was a work of pure fiction. No actual Tyrannosaurs Rexes were harmed in any way, shape or form in it's construction. I'm totally against any kind of cruelty to animals; especially extinct ones.
