The Sheriff of Black Rock Part 2 by M.C. Tough western town tamed by tougher Woman Sheriff Sheila opened the door of her office and walked out. The beautiful 5 foot 6 inch, 170 pound redhead surveyed the scene before her. Six tough looking cowboys stood in the street ready for action. Off to the side, mounted on his horse, was Bill Walker. She looked at him and said in a confident tone that belied her predicament, " Mr. Walker, as sheriff of this town I suggest that you take your men and go back to your ranch. I understand that you'll need them for your spring round -up soon; it would be a pity if they were in jail during that time ". An outside observer would have found this absurd. One lone woman was confronting seven men and confidently telling them all to go home. Bill Walker was flush with anger," we're not leaving here without our men " he bellowed. Sheila smiled, " if you try to free them - you'll leave here alone......and you'll have six men less for your round - up ....the choice is yours ". Bill Walker couldn't believe that she - a woman afterall -would challenge him like this; in front of the whole town (it never occured to him that it was he who was challenging her). Not only did he want to release his imprisoned men, now it was his pride that was at stake. For years he and his men had had the run of this town. Every sheriff that thought otherwise was run out of town. Now all that was being challenged - by a woman; it was something he just couldn't stand for. Bill Walker glared down at her and said to his men, " take her !!! " The six cowboys reached for their guns. Sheila went for hers. The whole town held it's breath. What they saw was the stuff of legend. With a speed no one had ever before witnesses, Sheila outdrew all six and, with perfect accuracy, shot the guns out of their hands. A moment of silence followed as the stunned men tried to come to terms with what just happened. Sheila smiled at them. She could have easily jailed them all now as they were disarmed, but she felt a lesson had to be learned. She holstered her guns and comely said," O.K. boys...let's see what you big, strong men can do with your fists against little old me ". The six tough cowboys, humiliated now and angry as hell, converged on her. It was a massacre. If Sheila's gunspeed was fast, her fists were even faster. She became a blur; a deadly combination of power, speed and beauty as she easily battered the outclassed cowboys into submission. From his horse, Bill Walker sat, stunned, as he watched the incredible scene infolding before him. Six of his toughest men were getting beaten up - by a single woman. As she punched them out, Sheila looked up at him and said, " now don't you go away, honey....we still have to have our little talk ". After about ten minutes all six men lay, unconscious, in the street. Sheila smiled down at them and laughed," well, this job certainly keeps a girl in good shape ". She walked over to the stunned rancher, grabbed his leg, yanked him down from his horse and began to drag him into her office. " Come on sweety pie, we need to have our ' talk ' now ". Sheila dragged Bill Walker into her office and closed the door. He was a big, tough man who towered over the smaller woman. He threw a punch at her which she easily blocked. " It looks as if I'm going to have to teach you some manners, Mr. Walker ". With that , Sheila slapped him hard across the face several times. She giggled as she did so. " Is this the rough, tough Bill Walker I heard so much about ? Why you're just a pussycat, tee hee hee ". After slapping him around for several minutes, She grabbed the now semi - conscious man by the hair, sat down, and yanked him across her knee. " Since you insist on behaving like a child, I'm going to have to treat you like one ". Sheila began to spank his buttocks hard with her bare hand. It wasn't long before Bill Walker, the toughest cattleman around, was crying like a baby. Sheila stopped spanking him and asked - in a soft, sweet voice," are we ready for our talk now ? " She grabbed him, roughly by the hair, and held his face a few inches from hers. " Now, you listen to me and you listen good , because I'm only going to say this once. You and your men have had your way in this town for far too long. Well that's over now. I'm the sheriff and I intend to enforce the law. >>From now on, when your men come to town, they come unarmed. They will behave in a normal, civilized manner and treat the citizens here with respect. I'm holding you personally responsible for their behavior. If any of them violate these rules, then I'm going the ride out to your ranch and beat up the whole lot of you.....and don't think that I can't do it either. Is this clear ? " Sheila tightened her grip on Bill's hair until he screamed out " yes, yes we'll behave ". " Good " she replied, " I hope - for your sake - that you do . I'm going to keep your men here for awhile -I'll decide when they'll be released. Now, I suggest you return to your ranch.....and explain the rules to the rest of your ranch hands, so there won't be any more ' misunderstandings '; do I make myself clear ? " A sadder, but wiser, Bill Walker emerged from the sheriff's office. He mounted his horse and, alone, slowly began to ride towards his ranch. Sheila began to drag the still unconscious men into the jail cells; two at a time. Each time she entered she would smile at Jim, who sat there amazed. From a third story window across the street, another interested party watched the scene below. His name was Jeff Stevens. He owned the gambling interests in Black Rock. He was corrupt, unscrupulous, and vicious. He would stop at nothing to achieve his goal; complete control of the whole town. The reason was that as soon as the new railroad line reached Black Rock and, with the rapidly expanding West, the influx of newcomers would offer him a chance to become very, very rich. With his rigged gambling, he could bilk the new settlers out of their lifesavings. He had a potential goldmine here. Only the mayor - Mary - and now this new sheriff stood in his way. " Something was going to have to be done about these two women," he thought to himself, " they could ruin my plans......... End of part 2
