Mother - Daughter talk by M. C. Margret and Penny have a heart to heart discussion. Margret Walker came home from her shopping. As she entered her home she sighed. There, sitting in front of the television - watching cartoons - was her 14 year-old daughter Penny. Lying on the floor in front of her, unconcious, were her two older brothers. "Fighting with your brothers again I see", Mrs. Walker said. "It wasn't my fault ", Penny replied comely. "I was watching cartoons and they came in and wanted to watch some silly football game. They tried to change the channel and I told them not to touch the T. V. -or else ". "I understand dear ", her mother said. Margret bent over and put one of her powerful arms around one of the boys, and the other around the second. Without straining at all she easily lifted the two 200 pound boys and carried them into their bedroom. She placed each one in his bed and tucked them in. She then came out and sat down next to her daughter. Margret : " Penny, you really must learn to treat your brothers more gently. " Penny : " I'm sorry mommy, but they were so rude - I guess I overdid it". Margret : "After all, honey - they ' re just boys. Perhaps when your father gets back from his business trip he'll sit down and have a talk with them". Penny : "I hope he doesn't go ballistic, like the last time, and blame me". Margret : "I don't think he'll be doing that again, dear - it took him a week before he could sit on a chair without using a pillow ". Penny : (smiling) "I know, I kinda got a little bit carried away there, didn't I? Mommy, will the boys always be afraid of me?" Margret : "Unfortunately , most boys(and men)are afraid of females that are more powerful than they are. It's a macho thing with them - they have to feel that they're in control". Penny : "But dad isn't like that, is he?" Margret :" He was when I first met him but I 're-educated ' him. After that things worked out fine. Don't worry, honey. You'll find a boy who'll like you because of your strength" . Penny : "Can I go play in the park now with my friends ?" Margret : "Yes, dear. And try not to get into any more fights with football players ". Penny : "Again, it wasn't my fault. We were playing on the field and they came and tried to take it away from us. I told them to behave, but they wouldn't listen - they were so rude. Will they be O. K. ?" Margret : "I spoke to the coach this morning - most of them should be getting out of the hospital in a day or two. It was sweet of you to go and visit them at the hospital yesterday ". Penny : "Why did they start to cry when I showed up ?" Margret : "It's like I told you - most boys are afraid of girls who are stronger than they are ". Penny : "How's Richard doing?" Margret : "You mean the boy you threw up into the tree?" Penny : "Yes, he was bothering my friends. I told him to stop, but he wouldn't; so I grabbed him and threw him ". Margret : "His mother says he won't come out of his room. I suppose he'll get over it , but it will take time". Penny : "Can I go now mommy ?" Margret : "Yes dear. And here's some money for ice cream ". As Margret watched her daughter leave , she sighed "what's a mother to do ?" Penny walked in the direction of the park. As she passed Richard's house she stopped, and decided to check up on him. Penny knocked on the door. A large man -Richard's father - opened to door. "Hi, my name is Penny. Is Richard here ?"The man looked down at her and scowled "yes he is, but he dosen't want to see you ". Penny comely reached over and grabbed his belt buckle and lifted him up. She hung him , by his collar, on a coatrack nearby . "I just want to see how he's doing", Penny said as she walked past the stunned man. As Penny entered Richard's bedroom, he began to shake. "W-W-What aa-a-r-e y-you doing here?"he asked, shaking like a leaf ". "I just wanted to see how you were ", Penny said as she sat down next to him on his bed. She leaned over and took him in her arms. She gave Richard a long, passionate kiss. As she did so she felt his shaking subside. When they finished their embrace, Richard had stopped completely. Penny looked at him and said, "I want to apologise for throwing you into that tree. You were bothering my friends - but I overreacted;I'm sorry ". Richard looked at her and said, "no Penny, you were right to punish me - I behaved very badly. I've learned my lesson ". Penny hugged Richard and said, " my mommy gave me some money to buy ice cream. How about if I treat you to a hot fudge sunday - we can start a new relationship ". "Sounds great to me", Richard replied. As the two of them left the house - walking hand in hand - they passed Richard's father ; still hanging on the coatrack. "Penny's treating me to a hot fudge sunday ", Richard said to him as they left the house. It was indeed the beginning of a great relationship.
