The Amazon Way of Life By M.C. How the mighty female warriors introduced their young cadets to Amazon culture and values. 1) The Enemy Approaches The tall, powerfully built woman couldn't help but smile as she gazed through the brush and spied upon the large group of soldiers that were crossing the river below her (the river represented the border between the territory of the Amazons in the North and their Greek neighbors to the South). Turning to the slightly smaller, but equally muscular, Amazon warrior standing next to her, she said, "You see how easily we were able to bait them, Captain? And all it took was a few tidbits of false information and here they are - blindly marching straight into our trap like lambs to the slaughter." "Yes General, I see," her second in command replied. "But why do they always fall for our ruses? Didn't they learn from the lesson we taught them two years ago the last time they tried to invade and conquer us. We killed two thousand of their soldiers and enslaved most of the rest?" "They never learn Greta," her commander answered, calling her comrade- in-arms by her first name now (although the Amazons are extremely skilled and disciplined warriors in combat, they also have a loose order of hierarchy - as opposed to all male armies - preferring instead to treat their fellow warriors as sisters rather than either their superiors or subordinates). "They never learn because they're men and that's what men do; rule by a combination of arrogance and ignorance." Then she winked and added, "Which makes it much easier for us to defeat them whenever they try to conquer us. Are our sister Amazon warriors in their proper place?" "Yes Alexandria. In fact they're not only in place, but they're ready and eager for battle. Especially the new cadets who can't wait to get their first taste of combat today." "Good. As we Amazons very well know, trial by combat is by far the best way for us to introduce our future warriors to our way of life. Do you remember your first combat experience as an Amazon cadet, Greta?" Now it was Greta's turn to smile. "Of course I do Alexandria. How could I ever forget it? It was such a wonderful experience. You were my commander even back then - the one who took me under her wing when I was just a girl and trained me to become the proud Amazon warrior that I am today. I still use your methods and techniques when I train our cadets; so effective were they." The large female general bowed her head slightly when she heard her second-in-command say this. "It was a great pleasure to train you Greta; and to see the great warrior that you've become." In Amazon culture, every veteran female warrior is assigned a young girl for them to train in the Amazon art of war so that they too will grow up to be great fighters. And overseeing the entire training program is an even more senior warrior. In Greta's cadet days that warrior was Alexandria; and now it's Greta's turn to oversee the cadet training program. Because their macho, chauvinistic male neighbors are always trying to conquer and enslave them, the very existence of Amazon civilization depends solely on the power and strength of their powerful female warriors. 2)The New Cadets "And how is this current crop of new cadets that you've been training Greta? Are they ready to face their first trial by combat to defend our territory against the Greek army today?" "They're ready, willing and able commander. In fact if anything, they may be a bit too enthusiastic to engage our enemies. You know how eager new cadets are to prove themselves in battle and earn themselves the right to be called an Amazon warrior. Along with winning the respect of their elders and defending our territory, it's the greatest honor that an Amazon girl can receive. That's why I always put them together with an experienced warrior to fight alongside; just as you did many years ago with me Alexandria." "Yes. I've found that that's always been the most difficult part about training our young girls how to become true Amazon warriors. We've never had a problem with either their fighting skills or their courage because, as you very well know Greta, we begin their combat training program as soon as they are able to walk. And courage is just something that Amazon girls are born with. The problem in training new cadets is teaching them military discipline, how to fight as a unified and cohesive unit together with their Amazon sisters, rather than as individuals the way men usually do. That's why, in addition to our superior training techniques and fighting skills, we Amazons have always defeated them in battle, despite often being vastly outnumbered." "And today won't be any different. I estimate that our five hundred veteran female warriors fighting alongside the two hundred new cadets will be facing around three thousand Greek soldiers. That gives our enemies slightly more than a four-to-one advantage over us - meaning that the odds are still in our favor. And I have absolutely no doubt that we will prevail. By-the-way Greta, did you explain to the new cadets about The Amazon Rule?" "Yes Alexandria. It's one of the things that the new cadets are always looking forward to. That, and proving themselves worthy enough to be called a True Amazon Warrior of course." (In their society, to be recognized as a True Amazon Warrior is highest honor that any female can hope to achieve. And it is, therefore, a coveted goal to which every Amazon girl aspires to). 3) The Amazon Rule According to Amazon tradition, new cadets - girls who have reached the age of seventeen years old and are judged by their elders to be ready to prove themselves in combat and thus become True Amazon Warriors - are allowed to spare the life of one man in battle to be used by her as she sees fit. She can use him as her slave, her servant, or her sex partner (or even all three should she so desire). How she uses him is entirely up to her. But it's her responsibility to train him to serve her properly; and to do that she can use any method she deems necessary. Amazon veterans like Greta - those who have fought in at least three military campaigns - are allowed to keep up to three males per battle for whatever purposes they desire, while senior commanders like Alexandria can take as many as five. It's not unusual for a high ranking Amazon warrior to have acquired as many as fifteen or twenty males that she has captured in her various campaigns over the years to serve her in various capacities. Alexandria, for example, has sixteen male slaves serving her - including the former general of a Greek army that she wiped out when they tried to invade the Amazon territory several years earlier. Now he bathes her, brushes her long, beautiful dark hair and serves as her sex toy when she desires. It's no doubt very humiliating for him as a former general of a large army to serve the powerful woman who destroyed his force and killed thousands of his men in the process. But at least Alexandria had spared him and keeps him alive; so long as he obeys her and does what she says that is. "Very well then," Alexandria said to Greta. "When the Greeks have advanced far enough into our territory, I'll give the order and our attack will begin. Do you remember my battle plan?" "Of course I do commander. First, when you give the order I will lead the Amazons and the cadets that are under my command and attack them with a frontal assault. Then, when they bring in reinforcements, we'll make a tactical retreat so that when they pursue us. You'll then lead your Amazon warriors and cadets to attack both of their flanks and cut off their rear, thus closing off their only path of retreat. I will then order my girls to turn around and launch another frontal assault at them so that we'll have our enemies completely surrounded. And then our combined forces will slaughter them like sheep. As usual Alexandria, your plan is both tactically brilliant and simple." The mighty Amazon commander smiled. "Thanks Greta. I'm going to call it the 'double envelopment maneuver' or 'pincer movement'; I haven't decided which yet. But if we execute it perfectly, it should lead to the utter destruction of our enemy's army. (Modern military tacticians still use both terms to describe Alexandria's maneuver). Historical Note: Alexandria's military tactic was not unlike the one that would be used by the great Carthaginian general Hannibal a few centuries later against the Romans at the battle of Cannae in 216 B.C.E. when, with a vastly numerically inferior army, he destroyed a much larger Roman army; inflicting over 65,000 causalities on the Romans to less than 6,000 of his own. Is it possible that Hannibal had learned something about his military tactics and strategy from a certain powerful woman warrior? Historical sources are, unfortunately, rather scant with regard to this. Alexandria's plan was now set in place against the Greek army that was marching towards them. And with her Amazon warriors and the new cadets in position - both primed and ready for action - the stage was set for another confrontation between the chauvinistic men that were trying to conquer them, and the brave women whose only goal was to defend their homes and way of life against the men who seek to destroy it and enslave them. 4) The Battle When Alexandria felt that she had allowed the Greek army to enter as far into Amazon territory as she felt was necessary to enact her plan, the mighty female commander, who had never been defeated in battle, loudly blew her horn, signaling to her Amazon sisters that the time to begin their attack had come. And attack they did, with both a speed and fighting skills that the surprised Greek soldiers proved unprepared to meet. Greta's veteran Amazon warriors along with the new cadets that were fighting alongside them drove the vanguard of the shocked Greek force back. But remembering Alexandra's overall strategy, Greta ordered the women under her command to halt after the Greeks brought in more reinforcements. Then she ordered them to retreat when Alexandria blew her horn again. "It's all part of our plan," Greta said to Tania - the beautiful, 18 year- old blond cadet that she had taken under her wing and was fighting by her side - when she asked why the Amazons were going to retreat when they had been driving the Greeks back. "You'll understand the reason soon enough Tania. But in the meantime, we're going to pretend that we're just scared little girls running away from the big, strong men." Then Greta winked at the young female cadet and added, "Wait until you see the looks on the faces of these tough, macho men when they find out what we Amazons really have in store for them." Just as Alexandria predicted they would, when Greta withdrew her Amazons back, the Greeks, thinking that they had the women on the run, charged forward with abandon; thus sealing their fate. "Like lambs to the slaughter," Alexandria said to Hera - the young cadet that she had taken under her wing to train - as the Amazon commander prepared to lead her warriors to deliver the decisive blow. And with another loud blast of her horn, the beautiful female commander led her Amazons forward, attacking the stunned Greeks from both sides of their flanks while simultaneously another unit rapidly ran around to the invader's rear; thus cutting off any chance of escape for the now doomed men. Greta then ordered her retreating Amazons to turn around and attack the front again; which the female warriors and cadets did with savage fury. Having completely surrounded their enemies on all sides with virtually no chance for them to escape, the Amazon women and girls fell on their helpless prey and began to slaughter them by the hundreds. The massacre continued until the Greeks, facing total annihilation now, began to beg for mercy. "If you drop your swords, shields and spears and surrender to us right now, I will allow your lives to be spared," Alexandria shouted out in her strong, commanding female voice. "And you will then become our prisoners and serve the Amazons for the rest of your lives. But whoever decides to continue to resist us, then we will kill you immediately. Do I make myself clear?" When they heard this, a few of the braver (or more chauvinistic) Greek soldiers decided that they would rather die fighting than to serve women for the rest of their lives. So they continued to resist but, as Alexandria had warned, they were all soon killed off by the powerful female warriors. The rest then did what Alexandria had ordered them to do. They threw their weapons to the ground and meekly submitted to their Amazon conquerors; thus bringing the battle to a successful conclusion - for the women that is. Although Alexandria's army won a crushing victory over their Greek invaders, it didn't come without casualties for the victors - as is to be expected in a violent military confrontation. Of the seven hundred Amazon warriors and cadets that she brought to the field that day, fifty had fought their final battle and another sixty suffered wounds of various degrees of severity. It was a causality rate considered acceptable in a battle where the enemy outnumbered her brave women warriors by more than four-to-one. And it completely paled in comparison to the causalities they inflicted upon their enemies who suffered more than two thousand dead while the rest of the survivors were captured and made prisoners. So, with a loss of just one hundred and ten female fighters, the mighty Amazons literally destroyed the invading Greek army of some three thousand men. A decisive victory if ever there was one. As a tribute to their sisters who had died in defense of their territory, the bodies of their brave comrades were taken back to the Amazon capitol of Themiscyra to be buried with full military honors, as befits fallen Amazon heroines. The dead Greek soldiers were simply left to rot on the battlefield where they fell. 5) The Aftermath of the Battle Of the Greek solders who survived the battle against the Amazons, several hundred of the more seriously wounded were allowed to return to their homeland as they would have been of little use to the Amazons as either slaves or servants - let alone a part of their concubine (though Greek mythology depicts the Amazons as being both cruel and ruthless towards men, the reality is that they could also be compassionate and display mercy with men who were not deemed to be a threat to them). The rest were stripped naked and forced to march to Themiscyra where they were paraded through the streets of the city in celebration of yet another victory of the female warriors over the men who would have enslaved them. They were then forced to stand in the city's main square where the victorious women and girls who had defeated them chose the ones that they wanted. Because only about seven hundred Greeks remained to be chosen, Alexandria decided that the warriors and cadets could choose only one each so that there would be enough to go around. And after the veterans (who because of their seniority were entitled to choose before the cadets) made their choices, the remaining male prisoners were then divvied up among the girls. After being beaten so decisively by an army consisting entirely of women and girls that numbered just a quarter of theirs, the remaining Greek prisoners were now subjected to yet another humiliation. They were all forced to stand naked in rows while the young female cadets - some no more than seventeen years old and none who had ever seen a naked man before* - walked between them looking for suitable males to train. And as they did so, the Amazon cadets giggled like little girls as they fondled the men's penises. This humiliation on top of everything else that the powerful female warriors had done to them that day caused even the toughest of men to break down and cry. *In order for Amazon girls to devote themselves solely on developing their fighting abilities to the ultimate level, the male slaves who tended to their every need while they were growing into womanhood were always fully clothed so as not to distract the females from their task. After they made their choices, the cadets forced the disheveled males to their living quarters. Many of the Amazon girls further humiliated their captive males by firmly squeezing their penises as they led them there (they had been taught by their mentors that in order to crush a man's macho ego completely, subjecting them to humiliation can be just as effective as giving them a good, comprehensive beating). The young cadets then begin to train their captives just as their elders had instructed them to do. And although their training methods were both strict and harsh, most of the males would survive and eventually become obedient and loyal servants to the strong Amazon women that they were chosen to serve. Thus were the females in the Amazon civilization raised. The harsh reality of the violent world in which they inhabited was one where all the other societies were controlled by men and to whom women were completely subservient (as it remains, with rare exceptions, to this very day). But the mighty Amazon women refused to accept this and, through a combination of their strength and determination, turned that chauvinistic philosophy completely upside down. But the only way that these strong and independent women could protect and preserve their unique values and civilization was with an army of highly skilled and powerful female warriors to defend it. And that's what they did. Such was the Amazon way of life.
