Amazon Amanda Part 2 by M.C. Sequel to Part 1 In the weeks that followed the 'incident' at the student union ( described in the first chapter ), Amanda's life changed dramatically. She and Chris moved off the university to an apartment nearby so they could live together. Amanda noticed the respect - even awe - many of the other students had for her now; even the macho football players stood to the side when the powerful girl walked by. A lot of the female students at the university began to see her as a kind of folk heroine; in sharp contrast to the way she had been viewed in the past. No longer looked on as a freak, Amazon Amanda - as she was now known - was held in high esteem by just about everyone; and she loved it. Proud of who she was and what she was capable of doing, the six foot-three inch, 400 pound woman strode through the campus with an air of confidence. The genie had finally been let out of the bottle; and would never return. Chris, after an initial period of adjustment, came to terms with the fact that he had found the woman of his dreams - i.e. fantasies - and showered upon her all the love he was capable of giving. Amanda returned it in kind. No longer ashamed of showing off her prodigious power - as she had been for so long for fear of intimidating people and scaring away potential friends - Amanda could now engage in contests of strength against her fellow athletes. On one occasion, during a charity fund raising event the university was sponsoring, she led the woman's basketball team to a victory over the men's team in a tug of war. Then, she took on two of the strongest linemen on the football team by herself. For several minutes the mighty woman simply held them in place. They, despite their best efforts, couldn't budge her. Amanda just stood there laughing and encouraged them to try harder. When she finally began to pull backwards on the rope, they collapsed like a house of cards and she literally dragged them across the line. While helping the stunned men to their feet, Amanda gave each one a kiss." No hard feelings O.K. guys ?, " she smiled as she patted their backsides. The crowd loved it and Chris beamed with pride. Despite her strength and new found popularity, Amanda did not let it go to her head. Remembering her many years of being an 'outsider', she had no desire to be treated as special in any way. One day, when she and Chris got on a long cashier's line at the bookstore, all of the students in front of them moved to the side to let them go first. As Chris began to move forward, Amanda gently tugged his shirtsleeve; " we'll wait on line just like everyone else, sweetie," she said. Her life had finally become the way she had always hoped it would be; and she wasn't about to let her ego or false pride spoil it. A few days later Chris came home very excited. " Amanda, guess what ? " he blurted out." I found this posted up on the university bulletin board." When Amanda responded with a confused look he handed her the flyer (advertisement) and said," here, read this ! " Amanda took the flyer and began to read : " To any student brave enough : Bill ( The Killer ) Johnson - winner of the 'world's toughest man' contest - will be appearing at the university boxing arena this Friday night. He has a standing offer of $2,500 to anyone who can beat him in a fight. Who among you are courageous enough to accept the challenge of the toughest man in the world ? " Amanda put down the flyer, looked at Chris and said in an unenthusiastic tone of voice," I suppose you'd like to see me fight this Bill Johnson, wouldn't you ? " " Well, sure honey. I mean the way you handled those guys at the student union; you shouldn't have any problem with this guy. I doubt that anybody else would even dare to go up against him." Amanda sighed. "Chris, you need to understand something. What I did at the student union, I did to protect you. I'm not - by nature - a violent person; I don't go around beating people up. In fact, I can count the number of fights I've had in my life on one hand. Yes, I'm big and strong, and I'm not ashamed of it anymore as my performance in the tug-of-war showed. But that was a charity fund raising event and nobody got hurt. A few bruised egos perhaps, but that's about it. Now, you'd like to see me fight some guy that I don't even know; for no reason other than to prove how tough I am ? Do we really need the money so bad that I have to turn myself into a circus act ? I'm sorry honey, but I've spent so much of my life being feared and rejected. Now, when I've finally found the acceptance I'd been searching for, I can't throw it all away and become a 'freak' again. That's why I didn't join the football team when the coach asked me to last month; or the wrestling team either for that matter. I just want to have a normal life Chris, and not be the subject of people's curiosity again." When Amanda finished talking Chris sadly gazed down at his feet. " I - I'm sorry Amanda, I didn't mean to insult you. I just thought that...well...I thought..." Amanda put her finger to his lips and smiled. " I know Chris, you're proud of me and I love you for it. I'm proud of myself too. Come, let's go into the bedroom, we have a couple of hours before our next class..." The next day, as Amanda was walking through the campus, she saw Amy, one of her very best friends; a person who liked her *before* the incident at the student union, sitting on a bench and crying. " What's the matter Amy ?," Amanda asked as she sat down beside her. "Oh Amanda, it was horrible, just awful. Last night Jeff ( Amy's boyfriend ) and I went out to the pub for a few beers. There was this huge man there, bigger than you even, I think his name was Bill Johnson or something like that, and he appeared to be drunk. When we sat down, he came over and started making lewd comments about me. Jeff asked him to stop but he wouldn't. Finally, when we got up to leave, Jeff told him how rude he was...and...this guy...he...he beat Jeff up. Jeff's in the hospital now with a broken jaw. Amanda, it was terrible." Amy put her head down against Amanda's massive shoulder and cried as Amanda gently rocked her friend back and forth; all the while thinking...reconsidering. " Well Chris, it looks like you're going to get your wish after all," Amanda announced when she returned to their apartment later that afternoon," I've decided to accept this challenge of Mr. Johnson." She then proceeded to tell him about what happened to Jeff. " But I want you to know, I'm not doing this for personal glory or ambition; it's simply a matter of settling a score. Nobody treats a friend of mine like that...NOBODY ! " "Amanda, I've been doing a bit of checking up on this Bill Johnson guy and maybe this isn't such a good idea. The guy's a real bastard; they don't call him 'The Killer' for nothing. He's six feet, six inches tall and weighs around 500 pounds. They say he's as solid as a rock. He's put more guys in the hospital than you can imagine. I know you're pissed off, and I don't blame you. But I'm worried about you; I don't want to see you get hurt. I love you too much." Amanda gave the love of her life a long and passionate kiss. " Thank you, Chris...you really are sweet. But my mind is made up about this. On Friday night, the 'toughest man in the world' and I are going at it head-to-head; and I promise you this... when this is over, there will only be one woman standing." End of part two
