1999 Ronnie Coleman Classic(Novice Women)

Novice Women:

Basically, novice means they've never won their class, it does NOT mean this
is their first show.  In this class you oftentimes get women who've never
been on stage next to women who look like they have a stage in their
backyard, they're so comfortable.  This was actually a very interesting
class to watch.

In the lightweight, in 3rd place was Carmon Parkman, 29, from nearby
Arlington, TX.  She was a thin blonde, with actually really good "relaxed"
abs that stood out just as she stood there.  That was her best feature by
far.  In 2nd place was Jill Peterson, 28, from Ft. Worth.  She was a
"better" blonde.  In 1st place was a force to be reckoned with.  Get this,
imagine Maria Calo, Tina Lockwood, and Summer Kalish all rolled up into one
excellent thick short 20 year old!  This young tan blonde woman floored me,
her name was KC Paxton, yes, only 20 years old, and from Richardson, TX (my
neighbor!).  Although I was glad she won this class, since they usually
don't go for mass at this show I wondered.  Her one fault was she didn't
know how to pose her abs well.  At the evening show, her abs kind of
glistened nicely (better than prejudging), but when she posed them - and she
did?  Nothing.  Still, very impressive.

In the middleweight, in 3rd place was a very aesthetic looking 27 year old
black woman named Marcy Lynn Hoskinson.  She very much so looked like a
muscular fitness woman who got on stage to do what I like to see - and that
is pose.  Her and 2nd place finisher, 26 year old blonde Kimberly Phillips
were both from Arlington.  In 1st place?  I'm going to go on a tangent here
- watch out - ha!  26 year old Karina Nascimento, hometown girl from Ft.
Worth.  She showed great stage presence, except for her legs, great
conditioning (yes abs!), but a bit slight on mass here.

So where's the tangent?  YES I will post pics to back this up soon - be
patient - she was one of the most gorgeous women I have EVER seen on stage,
a tiny bit slight but good for her level.  Where's the tangent?  I've
noticed a thread in the newsgroup that revolved around that it is the
extreme dieting and not drug use that causes women to become unattractive.
One word: bunk.  I did NOT ask Ms. Nascimento (she didn't mill around the
audience unfortunately - but I still wouldn't have asked her this) anything
about drugs, but she wasn't big by a long shot.  She was in great condition,
very low bodyfat, but she had to have one of the sexiest most attractive
faces I've seen in a long time.  Dieting does NOT make an attractive woman
unattractive.  Sorry, she may look even better facially with a few more
pounds (I'll be glad to fatten her up for the test :-) ), but...

I just had to throw that in there, sorry.

In the heavyweight, out of the top 3 (only the top 3 pose and have their
placement announced) was a 34 year old brunette named Lisa Bacci from nearby
Benbrook, and a veteran 35 year old Imogeannie Davis, from Bossier City,
Louisiana (where Dallas folks go to gamble :-) ).  Ms. Davis, who was a
somewhat thick looking black women was really way too soft for this contest,
but had good mass and interestingly had deep good abs without seeming to be
anywhere near dieted down.  In 3rd was another "veteran" I'd seen plenty of
times before, 35 year old Demetria Franklin from Houston, also black, she
really has quite good formidable mass and definition to her upper body (a
little soft though) but her legs lagged bigtime in mass and conditioning.
Her trainer should DEFINITELY get on her about this as she obviously works
her upper body hard and it shows.  In 2nd was a striking 43 year old Debbie
McKinnis from Little Rock, AK.  Why was she striking?  She looked a good
deal like Carmen/Virginia Brady, just a bit less massive - but her
conditioning was good.  I was curious why she didn't enter the Master's also
though.  Wouldn't matter as the woman who won the Masters, Theresa Welch,
also won here, too.  

So far the -jabber's been pretty darn quiet in terms of no need to
"disagree" with the judges.  This was a good overall posedown.  You had the
massive and cute short young blonde (20) KC Paxton, the super-sexy and
ripped and dieted down Karina Nascimento, and you had the, well, Theresa
Welch.  It was between cute very young mass and sexy also young (at 26)
ripped conditioning.  Who says young female bodybuilders are a thing of the
past?  Ha!  When I was finally able to take my eyes off Karina's face, I
noticed that none of the women's legs were that good.  They all lagged
behind compared to their upper bodies, the exception being KC's thighs had
nice mass.  Hmm...

As much as I liked KC (and think she has a brilliant future), Ms. Nascimento
got the overall to a very appreciative audience.  Excellent novice winners
and excellent judging (a rarity?).
