Expo by -jabber Well, it's difficult to have a distinct start and finish to an Expo commentary such as this. In retrospect, at the Convention Center, it still got quite crowded (not sure if quite as crowded as at the Veteran's Memorial Hall last year though), difficult to move around. Plus, the fact that there were a couple other things going on for me that weekend, I didn't spend quite as much time roaming the aisles as I'd have liked, but. I did take perhaps more Expo pics than at previous shows since I know some of you clamor at the bit for off-stage pics. Okay, ya happy now? >From a distance, the armwrestling really wasn't that impressive to watch, I hadn't gotten a roster of the armwrestling competitors, I only know Margie Wharton (the female who was on Kathy and Regis last year) was there. Interestingly, I saw at an armwrestling booth, some guys from the team were offering advice/tips to folks at the booth. I should've found out if the females were also offering tips - as you know I would've enjoyed that immensely. The folks who seemed to be perennially at Denise Masino's Muscle Elegance booth this year, in addition to Denise was Debi L. Petersen (the L stands for Laszewski) and Karen Konyha. Some folks thought Debi looked a bit more streamlined, but I still found her quite muscular. And Karen's one of the more defined fitness women out there. Although too numerous to mention, one visual that I like seeing at these Expos is the somewhat smooth looking fitness competitors (they may have implants but I ignore that - that's not the draw) who have only one muscular bodypart: their abs. I'm sorry, I find that incredibly neat. We saw April Hunter milling around a bit, and it was difficult to miss that "Andrea" no last name that Bill Dobbins recently posted some pics of. In person, she isn't bad muscularity-wise, but it is her height that is the first thing you notice about her. One of the most attractive women there was Kim Harris, looking a bit off-season but quite muscular. At The Valkyrie's T-Shirt Booth, hanging out was both Bethany Howlett and Jasmin Johnson. I'd heard Th-resa Bostick joined, but I never saw her all weekend long. First time I ever got a chance to meet her, Pauliina Talus was there, looking VERY off-season. I got a non-flexing pic of her where she was nearly bursting out of her white blouse. She said she was afraid to flex for fear of the clothes ripping. Alas, the next day, she was supposed to wear something flex-worthy, but I never got a chance to photograph her again. Remember the name Samantha Madsen? She was a natural competitor from way back, and was in an old WPW video. To me, her claim to fame was her ability to show off her traps while sitting down, gripping the side of a seat. I took two pics of her, the first, a "normal" flexing shot - the second, I tried to get her to recreate that trap shot which, I wonder why, is etched on my mind all these years later. J I briefly saw Melissa Coates and Ericca Kern (separately) at the Expo, as well as Theresa "Abs" Hessler. There was a sighting of Ana Schriener (I "think" she was on-stage announcing somethingorother - memory's the second thing to go with old age, can't remember what the first thing is) and someone supposedly said Anja Langer was there, too. So far, that's been unsubstantiated, IMO. I saw and spoke with two Femsport females, Sarah Dunlap and Alisha Joyce. Sarah was looking QUITE thick indeed. Pity, win or lose, I missed her grappling match. Alisha quietly has plenty of muscle for a not-quite 19 year old from Columbus. Tre' bills her as looking something like a Mariah Carey with muscles. Not sure about that, but she is quite eye-appealing, with a shy personality that you have to talk to bring her out. Then she seems more at ease. Hell, at 18, I wouldn't have been able to absorb all of this (the whole Arnold Fitness Expo, etc.) well at all. Really difficult to name every cute muscular female there (OODLES of them), but if I was going to, I'd have to put a virtual unknown (sorry no pic) who I saw waiting to get in the Kickboxing finals audience as the 2nd most attractive female there. Just a dirty blonde with a white halter top on, she had very artful upper back muscles and nicely plump arms. In fact, I was trying to figure out why this vision was so stirring to me. Then it hit me, she looked like a more muscular version of a female named Laryssa I had the pleasure of knowing in '99 when I was up in Calgary, Canada for many weeks during the summer. Her resemblance was uncanny actually - 'cept with bigger muscles. Who was the most attractive female there? You're going to absolutely HATE me (go ahead throw yer tomatoes at me) but I never took any pictures of her. Why? 1) I didn't get a chance to meet up with her a second time, and 2) she has had TONS of pics recently taken of her. On the web page, she goes by Kristi, but when I asked if her name was Kristi, she corrected me, Krista. She's a fitness competitor, bodybuilder, AND powerlifter, AND all natural. Pity she's as short as she is (probably no taller than 5'0"), because she's positively the most dreamy person seen there. It's VERY difficult to come up with a winner among all the eye candy there, but I crown Kristi/Krista the winner. Check out some of her pics at: www.builtmore.com, go to the parts modeling I believe section, looking under arms. If you have trouble finding it, email me (sorry I couldn't get the specific URL right now). She's WELL worth digging for. See if you don't agree. In person, she looked just like in these pics? only even MORE muscular! Until next show, I remain? -jabber
