1999 Women's Extravaganza Weekend (Intro) By -jabber Make no bones about it, I'm going to complain yet I'm going to praise also. No I'm not schizo (or no more than you've already thought I was :-) ), but I felt mixed emotions here, about the whole darn shebang. On the one hand, it was a great blow to female bodybuilding in general to have the most prestigious female bodybuilding show to be cancelled, albeit briefly. But I was very pleased that it was rescued by whomever (you know who you are). I personally previously had plans to be at both events (the WSE on 10/2 in Secaucus and the Ms. Olympia on 10/9 in Santa Monica), so I realize it wasn't at all a hardship for me, but realize it was for many. When it got cancelled in California, okay, one less trip for the -jabber. I still personally feel it would've made more sense for it to have been rescheduled to be with the Mr. Olympia and Ms. Olympia Fitness already scheduled for 10/22-10/23 in glamorous Las Vegas than 10/2 in glamorous Secaucus, but... Anyway, all the action was jam-packed into one day - none of this two or three day stuff here. From 11:00 am until late at night, there was more female muscle than most mere mortals could handle - LOL. Because the Ms. Olympia, although "added" at the last minute to the WSE weekend, became the main event (and rightfully so), there was one casualty. I would've thought it was going to be the "new" IFBB Pro Show supplanted by the Ms. Olympia, but I was wrong. The bodybuilding strength show was scrapped, but the fitness strength show retained. While that decision was perhaps unpopular to many, I personally was delighted that I'd still get to see my favorite event from last year, the one-arm pushup contest. On with the somewhat abbreviated (for the long-winded -jabber) review: -jabber
