SISTER EVA BEGINS THE COSMOLOGICAL ARGUMENT

Sister Eva stood before the court ready to summarise how far the trial had
gone so far. She had dealt with the absurdity of atheism. She was now ready to
move on to the Cosmological Argument.

She began to summarise the argument as follows;

1. Everything that exists has an explanation for its existence.

2. If the universe has an explanation for its existence that explanation is
God.

3. The universe exists

4. Therefore the explanation for the existence of the universe is God.

I would like to summarise what I have stated about the absurdity of atheism by
looking primarily at the problem of values. This is where the greatest
inconsistencies in the atheist position. I have already criticised Camus the
atheistic philosopher who held that life is absurd and that we can believe in
love and brotherhood too. Russell another atheist was also inconsistent in
that although he was an atheist he believed in being an outspoken social
critic denouncing nuclear weapons in the most vigorous way. He was in a
dilemma in that he condemned war and yet believed ethical values were just a
matter of personal taste and confessed he did not know the solution to this
dlkiemma.As for Dawkins although he states that there Is no absolute evil or
good , he Is a complete moralist himself. He totally condemns the harassment
and abuse of homosexuals, religious indoctrination and even offers as
alternative Ten Commandments for human living!'

'Thank you very much for that summary Sister Eva. Please would you proceed
with the cross examination of the prisoner.'

Sam Harris the defence counsel interjected.

May I please speak for the defence Mother Athena?'

'You will only be allowed to speak when I order you to and I have told you
before about offending other people's religious views. Sit down! I will hold
you in contempt of court! and order Sister Marissa to tie you down to the rack
if you continue to interrupt this court!'!

'As I said Siste Eva will you please continue you cross examination of the
prisoner?'

Sister Eva stood up and addressed the court in Her impressive uniform of shiny
black latex. She wore a face mask with Her mouth being the only part of Her
anatomy that was visible. Meanwhile Dawkins sat there in the prisoner's stool
shivering with terror and feeling the cold as dressed only in his underpants
with sister Marissa standing behind him holding his hand in a painful grip
while She held him tightly by the neck occasionally digging Her razor sharp
finger nails into his neck . that was now so red and sore. He realised that he
had been totally floored by Sister Eva and that he could not cope with Her
aggressive cross Examination. He was not used to being cross examined about
his views and only to pontificating them to a bunch of students at New College
Oxford.

She stood before the Catechision Court speaking not only to the Court but to
the whole world. She walked over to Dawkins who was now shivering with fear.

She shouted in his face.

'Why is there something rather than nothing in the world?'

'I don't know I've never really asked that question. You see I believe there
are all kinds of questions that are ridiculous such as what is the colour of
jealousy.

Once again Sister Marissa dug Her nails into his neck.

'What do tou say at the end of every sentence?'

Err Sister Eva.

'Well great philosopher called Leibniz(1646-1716) who discovered calculus said
that it was the most important question anyone could ask. Do you know anything
about Leibniz?'

'I'm err a Darwinian Evolutionist not a philosopher.'

Mother Athena intervened.

'It is obvious from your performance in court that you are not a philosopher!'

The whole court roared with laughter

'What is more you failed to address the Prosecutor as Sister Evan if you say
once more you are a Darwinian Evolutionist I will order Sister Marissa to tie
you to the rack!'

Sister Eva persisted in Her questioning.

'Dawkins why anything exists is the most basic question anyone can ask! .Like
Me Leibniz came to the conclusion that the answer is found not in created
things but in God.'

'Well err I don't accept that I'm a Darwinian Evol-'

Sister Marissa's nails dug into his neck once more.

'Did you not listen when Mother Athena a warned you not to use that term
again! If you carry on like this I will tie you to the rack!!

Mother Athena called out.

PROCEED WITGH THE CROSS EXAMINATION SISTER EVA!!
