Great weather at the start of the month (and a hosepipe ban because of the drought), but then came the downpour. So now we have the curious situation of floods all over the place, but officially we're still having a drought.

Three months of Newsthumbs were moved to the Older server.
Since the swap-out, I've had four servers with problems. I think some of the memory sticks have worn out. For the Newsthumbs, I've had to build three new servers for future use, each of them is 28 terabytes! Why three? One for use, and two for backups.

I checked the site statistics that Sandra counts up each night.
At the end of April 2012, there were about 1,366,000 pictures (265 gigabytes), 426 gigabytes of video, 14090 text files (mostly stories) and a total of about 693 gigabytes. There's about 530 million pictures altogether in Newsthumbs, increasing at about 5 million per month.
