My Session With Sheila Burgess
Shortly after the New Year I had the pleasure of a session
with Sheila Burgess. Rather than worry about silly things at the end of
the millenium such as the apocalypse, global meltdown, or air traffic control
computers, I tend to focus on more important issues like are Sheila’s thighs
Y2K compliant? And I’m happy to report that they came through with flying
colors!
The
beautiful Ms. Burgess let me into her hotel room just outside of Baltimore.
Prior to our meeting, we had discussed what kinds of attire might be available,
and as much as I like an FBB in an Eskimo parka and mukluks, nice guy that
I am, I thought Sheila might be more comfortable topless. Sheila had told
me that this was usually not a problem, though she makes no guarantees.
It was the first session I’ve ever tried like that, and the old axiom is
true, "Less is more!"
At
5’6", 160lbs, Sheila was in near contest condition. She’s not the kind
of gal who gains more than a few pounds in the off season, preferring to
stay fairly lean year round. She certainly looked good to me as the accompanying
pictures will attest. I couldn’t help but to admire her symmetry. Sheila
has one of the best relaxed physiques I’ve ever seen. She’s achieved that
marble statue form that bodybuilders strive for, and I couldn’t take my
eyes off of her for the hour.
When we had talked before the session, Sheila had told
me that she was trying to recover from a few injuries, and that she wouldn’t
be able to do anything more than light wrestling which was perfectly fine
with me. After my previous sessions with Karla and Gabrielle, I was ready
for something a little more laid back. But almost as soon as we met on
the bed, Sheila’s competitive nature got the better of her, and she tried
to get a piece of me!
Sheila
doesn’t do fully competitive matches, but you don’t need to try to win
yourself to be able to experience a woman’s strength and skill, and I was
impressed! I was fortunate that she had skipped her arm workout that day
and she decided to use that energy on me instead. While not as strong as
the awesome Gabrielle, I could have closed my eyes and imagined that it
was Karla slapping those headlocks on me. Pound for pound, Sheila is by
far the strongest woman I’ve ever met.
She
admitted to me that her repertoire of wrestling moves is limited, but I
found Sheila to be more knowledgeable than most of the women I’ve faced.
Though her moves might be limited in number, she applies them solidly,
and she’s extremely tenacious. Her scissors were very strong, though not
enough to make me submit. But to be fair, I’ve never submitted to anybody
else’s scissors either.
We tried a little bit of arm wrestling, but unfortunately
Sheila’s right arm was injured, as was my left, so I really couldn’t give
her a competitive match. I did however provide enough resistance to be
impressed again by her strength and technique. Sheila is the first woman
I’ve met who knows how to arm wrestle, and she likes to win!
It’d
be a shame to waste that pair of boxing gloves I brought! I invited Sheila
to try a little belly punching. She’s never done it before, but she was
game. At first, she was just arm punching, and I had to show her how to
swing and put her body into it. She’s a fast learner and she hits hard.
She also seemed to be enjoying herself a great deal. I was even worried
a bit at one point that she was getting carried away as she backed me up
with a series of rapid one twos!
I
tried a little belly punching experiment in this session. I stood with
my back to the wall and asked Sheila to hit me. I would try to clinch and
push my way past her, and her objective was to shove me back and open up
on me again. The first time I tried it, I bulled my way into her and pushed
her back about two feet before she planted her back leg, flexed those shapely
quads, and "Wham!," blew me back into the wall! Sorry if anybody in the
next room was trying to sleep! It was an explosive demonstration of strength,
and would be worth trying without the punching. Just watch your head!
Sheila
lists a 325lb bench press as one of her stats. This is an extraordinary
amount of weight for a female bodybuilder and I had to ask her about it.
I’ve met three other women who have benched more than 300lbs, and the lightest
was 185lbs. Sheila’s lift was better than all of theirs at a bodyweight
of 165lbs! Sheila made the lift in the Spring of 1997. She was lifting
heavy at the time, benching 250lbs for 4-6 reps, and her trainer decided
to find out just what her max was. He added weight, but wouldn’t tell her
how much she was lifting. At the point where she barely managed to make
the rep, the exercise was over and he informed her just how much she had
lifted. In Sheila’s own words:
"I think one of the main reasons I was able to do this
lift (besides the fact that I'm fairly strong!) was that I didn't know
ahead of time how much I was lifting. Mental blocks are often the
hardest things to overcome in lifting heavy...if you think it's too heavy
it'll become to heavy. If I'd known how much I was lifting, chances
are I wouldn't have been able to do it. I no longer do barbell bench
press, as my shoulders can't handle the strain, so now I use only dumbbells.
At the moment, I am using 90lbs dumbbells for 6-8 reps. I may try
a max dumbbell lift in the next few weeks...just to see! I'll let
you know how I make out! :-)"
We
alternated between wrestling, punching, and talking a bit in between. Sheila’s
a very intelligent and personable woman who seems comfortable with herself,
which in turn makes you comfortable with her. I think that’s very important,
particularly in a topless, or any other type of a more sensual session,
because if the woman seems self conscious about what she’s doing, neither
of you are going to be able to enjoy it.
My favorite memory of the session occurred during our
last wrestling encounter. I remember I was lying on the bed with Sheila
on top of me. I had a hold of her left wrist. I released it, and slid my
hand up to meet hers. I spread my fingers, and sensing what I wanted, Sheila
spread hers and our fists intertwined. She was glistening with sweat, and
the muscles in her arm and chest stood out in bass relief as she slowly
forced my arm towards the bed. Putting me down, she didn’t say anything,
but I could sense her satisfaction. Like I said, she likes to win!
