The Room By Crossmanx at - crossmanx@hotmail.co.uk - comments and ideas welcome When you wake up in a strange room, anything could happen! The Room David stepped into the lift, it was empty which he was pleased about, he hated, even for a short trip a 'room' full of loud, chatty, sweaty people either talking a load of nothing or bobbing their heads to trash music that didn't stay inside their earphones. So, it was a relief at end his long day at the office to get into an empty lift. It was his brief moment to relax before he got into his car and then had his normally fight with the traffic to get home. A few moments later and the lift arrived at its destination, under the lobby and basement levels of the large office complex and into the firm's underground carpark. The doors opened and the man could see into the dimly lit large area. He sighed, took a deep breath and stepped outside the lift. The thought of driving through the City's traffic never gave him anything to be happy about. Over on the left that light in the ceiling was still flickering and no matter how many times he'd sent an e-mail to the maintenance department it never seemed to get fixed. Next followed a short stroll to where he'd parked his car, to where he always parked his car. Although there were no allocated car parking slots, everyone seemed to park in exactly the same spot day after day, week after week. Fumbling in his pocket he found his key, pressed the button, the lights flashed there was that normal beeping sound and the car was unlocked. Opening the door, he slid inside and placed his briefcase on the passenger seat. As he got himself comfortable, he suddenly started to feel so tired and sleepy, then with the keys in his hands he went to start the car and, 'Oh!' It was as if he was now drunk or something, his head was spinning, throbbing, and he suddenly felt quite dizzy. His car keys fell out of his hand as he didn't seem to be able to hold onto them, his eyelids became heavy and his eyesight was now blurred, then ... ... ! Then it all went dark, black and David wasn't, couldn't think, he was unconscious. It must have been later but at this moment the man had no idea about how much later, or what had happened. All he knew was he was coming around as if awaking from a long sleep and it took a few seconds before he'd realised that he wasn't back in his car, wasn't in the carpark and wonder, 'what the hell is going on?' Again, it took another second or two before he realised that something must have happened to him in the car, 'was he overcome by fumes and now in hospital?' But that thought didn't last too long as he soon realised this was no hospital, he was in. His eyes finally focused and he could see everything clearly now, he felt find, so obviously no injury, in fact he felt refreshed and was now completely awake. But this was defiantly no hospital room he was in, so what had happened to him? David was lying on the floor and he was still in his normal work suit. He put his hand down on the floor to push himself up and 'strange', it wasn't carpet on the floor but some kind of cushioned matting. His eyes moved along the beige coloured flooring to the wall, where it fitted perfectly again the bare brick wall. The bottom line of bricks had been painted white as if to represent a skirting board and then the rest of the wall and bricks where all painted a dull battleship grey colour. The wall was quite large going up to a high white ceiling with a couple of old black pipes coming out at the top of the wall and going across the room. He looked to his left and there was another dull grey wall but this time high up and near to the ceiling was a single long window, the length of the wall. The window itself wasn't that tall and David could see that there where what looked like old black metal bars on the outside. He could also see it was dark outside but there was some light, probably from a street light of something like that. Now the man looked over to his right as he began to get himself upright and sit there. The other wall on the right was similar to the one on the left, same high wall, same grey colour, same length and not as long as the grey wall in front of him. The only difference was the big, black, old looking metal door in the middle of the wall. An old, solid door, the kind you might see walking around a Victorian building or warehouse, something like that, and it was closed. So, this defiantly wasn't a hospital he was in! Still all this didn't make sense, what had happened to him when he'd got into his car, he'd passed out that was obviously but why? And where was his car now, his briefcase and more importantly where was he? Now he knelt up onto one knee and for some reason he got this funny feeling, he'd just looked at three sides of the room he was in and now, that same feeling made he turn his head and look behind him! Obviously, he wasn't alone as he could now see the person that was also in this room with him. Back behind the man was a chair, a single chair, an ordinary, quite old solid black metal chair, but it was who was sat on that chair that had grabbed David's interest. Sat there was a woman, a young woman, David was shocked to see her "what ... ... who are you ... ... where am I ... ... what's happened to me?" The young woman, the girl just sat there slightly leant forward, arms resting loosely on her legs and she was staring at the man. She just looked at him, said nothing, just looked. David raised his voice and went through it all again, but still she sat there and said nothing. Angry now the man slammed his hand down on the mat floor and shouted out his questions again, only for silence to follow, "What's wrong with you?" David had no idea and was now frustrated, mad. He jumped up onto his feet looked at the girl who had only moved her head to following him as he got up, but still said nothing. Off came David's jacket which he threw down to the matted floor, then he loosened his tie as he still tried to get his head around all this. David went up to the door, but even though he already 'knew' it would be locked, he still tried vigorously to pull it open. The handed wouldn't budge, wouldn't move at all and the door was big, heavy, solid, he banged on the door and shouted "Hey ... ... ! Anyone, let me out ... ... let me out now! Is anyone there?" There was nothing and banging on the door wasn't going to get him anywhere apart from hurting his hand. Turning back the girl was still sat there staring at him, saying nothing, he shouted at her again, but again the only reacting from her were her eyes that moved and followed the man as she stomped around the room in confusion. David was angry, the girl not talking didn't help, it just wound him up even more. So, he went up to the back wall, looked up to the long window there and jumped up. Lucky he was quite tall and strong, his fingers griped onto the window still and he pulled himself up so he could look out. David managed to hold himself there and gaze out the window, the glass was thick, strong and there were indeed thick, solid looking black metal bars along the length of the window on the outside. But there was also more out there for the man to see. By the looks of it, this room he was in, was on the third of maybe fourth floor of whatever building this was. He looked down and there was a large carpark in front of this building, with all the spaces marked out but only a scattering of half a dozen vehicle where still parked there. Past that was a line of tall, maybe four of five storeys, buildings. Mostly all dark, but with a few odd lights on in some of the windows, and as it was also dark outside David couldn't make out anything else that clearly. Even with some street lights dotted around the place nothing stood out to him. The best that he could guess was that he might be in part of the City's old industrial area, that was if in fact if he was still in the City itself? David let go and jumped down back onto the floor of the room, he didn't really know any more about where he was and that didn't please him in the least. Now he turned around and could see that the woman, the girl. She was now on her feet, still stood near to that chair and still just looking, staring at him. But he had a better chance to look at her, see what she looked like, to get a fuller look at the woman he was locked in this room with now. She was a young female, if she was 18 or younger, he wouldn't be surprised, if she was 22 then maybe he would be. She had one of those faces that you couldn't quite tie down to how old she might be. But there was more to her than just her face and how old she was, there was the way she was dressed. A pair of dark trainers and then blue sports legging, tight fitting that showed she had a pair of strong, firm legs. Up further there was a slim waist followed by a sporting crop top, again blue and with her arms and midriff all bare and on show. Of course, there was her face too, which seemed to have a slight grin, or was it a smirk, to it now and her long dark hair was tied back into a single plaited pigtail. She had a slender, and toned body, her exposed midriff showed off her well exercised, defined and firm abs. Her bare arm also showed that this girl was no stranger to a gym and a good, solid workout, they were toned strong arms, this girl defiantly had muscles. David took this all in, but it still didn't make any sense to him, all he wanted to know was what was going on and how to get out of this 'room', and why was he locked in here with her? It was starting to feel like a prison to him. Again, David shouted at the girl "who are you? What's going on here?" But she just stood there, her hands on her hips, staring back at him, in silence and with an attitude about her. He'd had enough now, and made his way over to the girl, the anger and frustration building up more and more inside him with every step he took towards her. Over to the girl he stormed, shouting and reaching out as if he was going to grab onto her. "I'm going to give you one last chance to tell me what the hell is ... ... ", WHACK! But before his hands got too close to the girl, before the man had his chance to shake her until she spoke, before all that the girl made her move. Her strong, powerful left arm had come around and smacked her clenched fist into the side of the man's head as he was just about on her. The sound of the strike seemed to echo around the locked room and also inside David's head. It stopped the man in his tracks, made him stagger and take a couple of steps backwards, but David soon gained his balance. He shook his head and was now angrily staring back at the girl. But Davis was still no wiser as to what the hell was going on here, all he could think of was getting his hands on this girl and, if need be, beating the answers to his questions out of her! Now it was his turn to make a move, he lurched forward and at the girl, his arm came back ready to thrust his now clenched fist straight at ... ... SMACK! OOOWWHHH! His arm had started to go forwards, started on its path towards the girl, to hit her, but she wasn't going to stand around and let him just do that, not when she could make her next move and stop him. She took a small step back, turned her firm body, twisted it back and at the same time, brought her leg up and then around. It was a quick, decisive move and time to perfection as the girl's leg came around just at the right moment for her foot and trainer to now slam into the other side of his face and so sent move pain and suffering back into his head. The girl held herself in this position, stood on one strong leg, body leant back and still with her other leg up in the air. She hooked the leg in the air back, bending it back at the knee and waiting as she stared at the man who was still staggering around after that blow to the side of his head. David took and couple of uneasy steps then, SMACK! OOUUUHHH! The young girl waited, then as the man, in a bit of a stupor, turned his body back towards her, as he was facing her again and with a stunned look on his face. She flicked her leg, the one still held high up in air, flipping her lower leg and her foot straight into the man's gawping face. Another hard hit and one that drew blood from his nose and sent stars rushing around inside his head. That blow sent David back even further, staggering and made him even more unsteady on his feet now. It took him longer to shake his head and push the pain to the back of his head so he could begin to start to think straight, all while he steadied his legs and himself so he was still upright. And he did manage to steady himself, was able to start to think straight, but all he could think of was, 'what the hell is going on here?' His mouth opened, he went to speak to shout once more at the girl, but before anything came out, she was onto to him. It was almost as if each time she just gave him enough time to recovered so he'd be fully able to see, and feel what she was going to do to him next. And next was, THUMP! OOUUUHHH! A simple jump up, then she throw a leg out and sent her foot into his gut, simple, quick and effective. The blow caught him again off guard and the foot to his stomach was sharp and hard enough to make him exhale, shudder and gasp for breath. He winced, screwed his face up and closed his eyes, sometimes a simple move could be a really effective move. With his eyes closed David didn't see the girl, now back on both her feet, lean and reach over towards him. Stretching over to grab hold of the man then yanked him harshly towards her, the sudden jerking of his body made his eyes open wide and put a kind of terrified look on his face. Which was no wonder as when his eyes opened all he saw was the girls face, attractive as it was, but with a hard, firm expression. Then he saw her arms and hands that had a grip of him, and he felt him body being dragged quickly towards her. Then it went kind of blurry, there was a sensation deep in his gut of his stomach turning, there was a hazy grey coloured, then bright white light. Which his mind kind of thought was one of the lights high above in the ceiling. Followed by dark black, which if he'd had time to think about it, he would have realised was the door to the room. All of this was then followed by a very hefty and hard, THUD! Although some of this had registered slowly in his mind it had all taken just a second or so, just long enough for the girl to grab hold, turn and use her obvious strength and skill to take the man up off his feet and then throw him over and down to the floor of the room. David could have been grateful that the floor was indeed cushioned a bit, so it didn't hurt as bad as it could have, but somehow that point was lost on him right at this moment. As he lay there, he suddenly felt himself being dragged up off the floor, but there was something different about this, the girl had hold of his tie and it was like a dog being pulled by its lead. But this time it was a girl pulling on the man. Stumbling up, he was pulled onto his wobbly legs, where, WHACK! OOOOWWWW! A well-placed fist into his gut let the air out of him, fast, and was a good show of just how toned and well developed those muscles in her arms really were! She now grabbed onto him with her hands and, WOOSSHHH! THUD! David went over the girl hips, she turned him, spun him over, sent his leg up into the air and dropped the man hard on his back and back down to the floor. With the air knocked out of him and a hard, fast spinning move sending him once gain down, David was once more hurt and confused. Plus, he wasn't now given any time to recover or think, as the girl was back onto him straight away. He felt himself painfully being dragged upwards by his hair, still confused and almost automatically one of his arms came thrashing around as if he was somehow determined to have a go at the girl and fight back, SMASH! OOOHHHH! But she had other ideas as her fist went pounding into his jaw as he came up and that knock that bad behaviour out of the stubborn man, and subdued him for a moment. Long enough to get him halfway up and almost back onto his wobbling legs, but she didn't need him all the way up, just up enough for her to CRUNCH! ARRRRHHHH! He was up high enough for her to drive her knee into the half upwards man, slamming it into him and bringing more hurt and pain to his body. She followed it up instantly with a slight hop and then her other knee pounding into his body, forcing him to gasp for breath again. Another hop on her feet and another driving knee into David, three quick strikes left him in pain and trying to drastically take in some much-needed air. The girl had been quick with her blows and now he was stunned and still half bent over, in no position to try anything to save himself from this situation he now found himself in. This feeling of helplessness only lasted for a second as the young girl tried something else on him to take his mind of the strikes she'd just delivered. Grabbing hold of his bend over body she moved her strong arms, fast, twisting them around his body, and at the same time, turning him, spinning him over, as if he was a wheel to be spun around for fun. All the way over and around he went, somersaulting him and the man was once more, for a brief moment, looking back up at the bright white ceiling of the room and thinking, 'here we go again!' THUD! It was a harsh, sudden moved, something you might have seen in a wrestling ring, a move that sent him onto his back again on that slightly cushioned mat floor, but still it hurt. There was a pause now, a silent gap in the young girls beating of him. Even though he didn't know why this was happening to him, he was grateful that more than just a couple of seconds went by without her trying something new on him. But even so he was still a stubborn man and something just seemed to click inside of him so he went to push himself over onto his front and then upwards, to get back to his feet and as he did, WALLOP! The girls leg kicked out, that blue covered leg and that black trainer went driving into him body. The blow almost, maybe ever so slightly, took him up off the floor, then the blow spun him over. It made him roll across the floor until he crashed into the single chair that she'd been sitting so patiently on waiting for him to recover a short while earlier. As he slammed into the chair his anger for her and all seemed to finally reach its limit. A kind of rage kicked in and took over and somehow, he found the energy and willingness to move himself, well as fast as his hurt body would allow, upwards to his feet. At the same time, he focused and reached out and with two hands grabbed onto the chair, he was going to take this chair, swing it around and smash it straight into that girl. He was going to hurt her for what she'd done to him, he didn't care anymore and then he was going to get the hell our of this room! As he got hold of the chair, steadied himself for a second and then brought it up off the floor and was starting to swing it and himself around and towards the girl, SMACK! OOOUUUWWW! As David came around, his arms extended and holding that old, solid, black metal chair ready to strike, the girl moved in close, not too close, but close enough. In on quick move she hopped sideways onto him, leant away from him, lifted her leg and flicked her foot out and straight into the man's face as it came around. The strike was stinging, sharp and sent blood splattering out as her trainer squashed his nose. The shock of being hit this way made him lose grip and dropped the chair, it fell and landed on its side, so much for trying to hit her now! David staggered and wobbled around. The girl brought her foot back and her leg down, she took a second to look at the man as he stubbled around in the same spot, with his eye tightly closed, his arms waving around and shaking his head as if this would get rid of the pain. After bringing her leg down she then twisted on that foot that had done the damage, spun around on it and as she did so she brought her other leg up and around and now, WHACK! The sole of her other trainer came thundering around and slammed into the side of his head. Everything went dizzy, and in slow motion, for the man, the strike had numbed his brain and it was difficult for him to focus, think or to even realise where he was and what was happing to him. In reality David's eyes rolled, he staggered slowly for one, two steps and then fell down suddenly and over and onto the chair that he'd been holding up and dropped to the floor and moment ago. There was a cracking sound as he slammed down onto the chair as if falling across the metal object had broken something inside him. Then and devastatingly the girl took a step closer, and up went one of her legs. There was skill there, for her to be able to stand so straight and firmly on one leg with the other raised up high and so straight. Then, WHACK! CRUNCH! ARRRRHHHH! The leg came down sharply, down hard and down fast, down into David's body as he lay across the chair that had fall on its side. As the heel of her trainer came crashing down there was an even louder sound of 'something else' breaking in his body and the scream from the man confirm just how much it must have hurt him. David's broken body rolled off the chair where he lay, he fell heavily onto the floor and cried out in pain once more, but at this stage cushioned floor made no difference. He whimpered again as he fell and tried to take a breath, but even that hurt. As he thought it couldn't get any worse, he now felt a female hand grab a large tuft of his hair and then, UUUUHHHHH! His head was dragged upwards and his hurt, broken body followed, up onto his knees David was heaved. Then when fully up on his knees and with him desperately and painfully trying to take in some air, the girl moved in behind him, moved in closer to the man. He felt her toned, strong body press against his as she leant against him and then there was panic as her muscular arm now slipped around his neck. David felt the young female's arm get a good hold around there, her flesh against his neck, pressing against his throat. Her other hand came down and gripped onto his head and she flexed her arm, her muscles, the man's panic turned into pure terror as she now ... ... ! It was a day or so later when Dominic headed towards the lift after a long day in his office at work. He'd been working late so there wasn't many people about when he reached the lift and got inside. In fact, it was just him in the lift, so he took the chance to relax, to breathe deeply and let the stress of the day wash over him. Even if it was only a short trip down from his office floor to the underground carpark, it was good to take a moment to relax. He'd taken on a whole load of extra work these past couple of days as one of his colleagues hadn't come into work and the department was working against the clock to get this special project finished on time. As the door opened a security man smiled and let him out and then stepped into the lift himself. Dominic had noticed the extra security men and checks that had increased the past few days. Plus, there was those rumours linking all this extra security to the 'missing' colleague! That man that hadn't turned up for work, 'what's his name', the one who'd been working on the classified side of the project and because he wasn't here Dominic's work load had suddenly increased! But that was all office rumours, there was always something been said around the place about this or that, especially with the kind of work that was down here in the company. Dominic tapped the briefcase he was carrying, he wasn't meant to take paperwork out of the office and home with him, but with all these developments that were needed for the project, he just didn't have enough hours in the office to get it all done. So, somethings had to be done at home, no one would know and he didn't have that much time to get it all done, so needs must! Dominic walked across the carpark area, and now that that light had been fixed by someone in the maintenance department it somehow seemed to feel a bit safer here in the carpark. He found his car in its normal carparking space, opened it and got inside. He placed his briefcase on the passenger seat and then at that moment he suddenly started to feel sleepy, a moment or two later and his car keys fell out of his hands as a strange sense of tiredness seemed to take over his mind and body. Then before he knew it Dominic was falling into a sudden deep sleep ... ... !
