Quad By A.J. Brown Guy challenges his girlfriend's obnoxious ex-roommate **Note to my readers: I write Custom Stories for those that enjoy my work that would like a personal story written for them. Please email me at ajbrown2005@yahoo.com if you would like more information on my Custom Stories** Rose was the very first girl that Tim met in college. She wasn't the most attractive girl - she was short, had pale skin, short reddish-brown hair, and not much of a body. She didn't really have any curves to her but she was just a tad chunky. She wasn't fat by any means, though. But she was a very nice girl. She was down to earth and very intelligent. Both she and Tim had challenging majors - he was a computer science major and she was a biology major. Having that in common gave the two a lot to talk about. Rose wasn't exactly the kind of girl that Tim had envisioned himself hanging out with when he first went away to college but when you first go away and start making friends, you'll tend to associate with anyone you have things in common with. One night, within the first month of school, Rose had suggested that Tim take her out to dinner. At that point he realized she was starting to like him as more than a friend and that he better back off a little bit. He certainly was not interested in her like that and he felt like if other girls saw him hanging out with her too much that they wouldn't be interested in him. Out at a party one night soon after that he met a girl - Alysa was her name. She wasn't a knockout or anything but she was very pretty and she took a liking to Tim quickly when they met. He liked it that way. He was a tad shy so it helped him to meet a girl that was a bit aggressive. And that she was. The very next day was a Sunday and she called him to ask him to go to dinner with her and her friends. There were five girls for every one guy at the college and it was about six girls to just the one Tim at dinner that night. He got along with all of them, he and Alysa hit it off even more, and the two of them quickly became an item. Although he didn't hang out with her nearly as much as he did the first couple of weeks of school, Tim and Rose continued to be friends. She seemed genuinely happy for him that he had a girlfriend even though she didn't seem to be having much luck meeting guys or meeting friends in general. She kind of did her own thing, spending a lot of time studying, eating her meals in the dining hall by herself, and often going home on weekends. She was still great to talk to and would even lend a good ear or even good advice about any questions Tim had about women or his relationship. College life was great for Tim, with the exception of Alysa's roommate. Her name was Hannah and she and Tim did not get along. She would always give Tim an attitude when he was at their room and it got to the point where Tim and Alysa had to spend the majority of their time in his room as opposed to hers. Even at that point Tim learned that Hannah would often badmouth him to Alysa behind his back. That didn't make him happy at all. "How can you let her say that about me?" he said to Alysa, sounding quite annoyed, one day. "It's just her talking," Alysa said and she was always the type just to want to be the peacemaker. "Don't worry about it." "If someone is going to be talking bad about me to my girlfriend I am going to worry about it" Tim said and Alysa shook her head. "Just forget about it," Alysa said and even though she was trying to stay reasonable the argument was clearly building up. "She's probably just jealous of us. You know how it is. She's overweight and can't find a guy so she's upset about what we have." Hannah was overweight that was definitely true. Heck, she was fat. She had long, blond hair and her face was actually fairly pretty but the fact that she was so heavy took away from that. She always wore long-sleeved shirts and long pants even when it was warm out but that could only hide it so much. She was probably 5'6 or 5'7 and she had to weigh close to 200 pounds. "OK, but seriously, I don't think you should hang out with her that much," Tim said. "I think it's disrespectful to our relationship if you're spending a lot of time hanging out with a girl that's going to talk about me like that." "I barely hang out with her," Alysa said and now the two were clearly coming close to an agreement. "We don't have a lot in common and most of my friends don't really like her either. We'll talk a bit before bed and sometimes I'll go to meals with her if there is no one else that I can. But that's about it." "Alright," Tim said and his girlfriend was so pretty and sweet that she was very easy to make up with. "But don't be listening to all of things she says." "Of course not," Alysa said with a cute smile. "She's just jealous that you are so awesome, I know that." The two of them grabbed that back of each other's heads, began to kiss, then fell to their sides on his bed. She was just so perfect for him and they were both ripping each other's clothes off in no time. They had great make-up sex, if one were to even call what they had an argument. The rest of the school year was great for Tim although Hannah was a constant annoyance. Her badmouthing him to Alysa decreased as the year passed but he'd still hear sometimes that she was doing it. That made him angry and although he and Alysa didn't spend much time in her room, he couldn't avoid being there sometimes. And whenever he was there it would turn into some sort of argument between him and Hannah. He'd see Hannah around campus sometimes too and even then there would be tension between the two of them. One time he saw her at party. He was getting fairly drunk and he fantasized in his head about beating her up right there. Normally he would never have fought a girl but he would have had no regrets at all about kicking her ass. Watching her at that party made him quite tempted to do it. "There's no way you are rooming with Hannah next year, right?" Tim said that spring when it came to be time for the students to pick their roommates for the next year. "Well who else would I room with?" Alysa said and then she watched the look of disbelief quickly growing on Tim's face like he was about to blow up on her. "I'm so kidding, sweetie. I'm living with Ellen." He figured for the most part that there was no chance Alysa would room with Hannah again when she had a group of close friends she hung out with. But a part of him was still paranoid that Alysa would be the odd one out of the group or something and end up with no one besides Hannah to live with. He was very relieved when he found out she wasn't. Sophomore year was going to be so much better. Although things were great between Tim and Alysa when freshman year ended, their parents lived three hours away from each other and he was concerned that it might be tough for them to keep a long distance relationship going for a few months like that. But they kept in touch through the phone and internet and even saw each other twice a month. They went into sophomore year with their relationship stronger than ever. "Hey Tim" he heard a voice say behind him on move-in day sophomore year and he turned around to see Rose standing there. "Oh hey Rose" he said. They had lost touch towards the end of the year and didn't communicate at all over the summer. He thought about how she was still being friendly to him even though he had lost touch with her as freshman year had progressed. He felt bad about that but there was only so much time he could make for people. "Glad to see you back," she said and she gave him a hug with him not giving much of a hug back. "How was your summer?" The two of them chit-chatted briefly. As they spoke he remembered more why he lost touch with her. She was extremely nice and seemed interested in what he had to say, probably even more than Alysa did. But she was just so boring. They were different people. When the conversation was just about over she told him where she was living. "Stop by and say 'hi' sometime," she said. "I've got a single room this year which is going to be great for getting sleep but I'm going to need some company once in a while. Don't be a stranger." The next night was a Monday night and Tim and Alysa were eating together in the dining hall. She looked prettier than ever and he was so proud to be eating with her. There were freshman walking around and he felt good being the sophomore that was with the good looking girl. "Still dating this loser I see?" Tim heard a voice say. He recognized it quickly then looked up to confirm it was Hannah that said it. Tim and Alysa were sitting across from each other at the end of the table and Hannah stood at the end of the table. She wore a purple and black striped long-sleeved shirt and she looked like she had gained fifteen pounds since the previous semester. "What's up, Hannah" Alysa said and even though she sounded somewhat annoyed with her ex-roommate she sounded like she was kind of brushing it off and being friendly for the most part. "Oh not much," Hannah said. "Excited to be back at school. I'm living with a freshman since you didn't want t room with me again for whatever reason but it's all good. I'll show her the ropes. I'm really surprised you're still dating this loser, though. Thought for sure you would have smartened up over the summer." "OK Hannah, would you cut it out?" Alysa said finally sounding like she was starting to have enough. "If you're going to just badmouth my boyfriend please leave us alone." Hannah smirked like she wanted to say something nasty but she was still at least supposed to be Alysa's friend so there was little she could say. She just looked at them with the smirk and it was clear she wasn't going to apologize. She walked away and Tim looked at Alysa angrily. "Let me follow her out of this dining hall and kick her ass," Tim said and he had a look on his face like now that it was the new school year he was not messing around anymore. "I can't let anyone talk to you about me right in front of me like that, I don't care who they are." "Just let it go," Alysa said and she gently grabbed his wrist. "I sent her away, don't worry about her. You're better than that." He still looked at her angrily as she walked out of the dining hall. Tim tried to forge about it after that but he didn't want to go through another year of dealing with Hannah's behavior and not doing anything about it. The next day he and Alysa were in line for the dining hall when Hannah and a girl walked up behind them. He assumed the girl was Hannah's freshman roommate since he had never seen her before. "Yup, this is that loser I was telling you about," Hannah said loudly to her friend. "The tool that my roommate dated all of last year and still is for some reason. I'll just give you a piece of advice. Don't date any douchebags like this this year. I won't be able to take it." The girl smiled but it looked like she was just smiling because she was new at school and was just trying to fit in with her friend. Alysa just looked ahead of her and gave Tim a look like she wanted him to do the same thing. He looked ahead but was breathing heavily. "Look at the skinny piece of crap," Hannah said and he couldn't believe that this heavy girl that had gained even more weight over the summer had just said that. "Dude's probably one of the wimpiest guys in the school and she's dating him." Even Alysa got a look on her face like she really had to hold back from saying something to Hannah. Tim was a good looking guy but he was fairly skinny. He was six feet tall and barely weighed 160 pounds. He had lifted weights maybe a couple of times his freshman year but he was kind of intimidated always being the smallest guy in there that he didn't really stick with it. He couldn't let this fat chick talk about him like that though. When they walked in the dining hall they separated from Hannah and her friend and Tim couldn't hold back. "This is enough," he said to Alysa. "Let me beat her up and finally shut her up." "OK" Alysa said like she wanted him to and even though Tim wanted to he was surprised by her response. "Really?" he said sounding like he obviously didn't expect it. "Yeah," she said and he could tell that she meant it. "She won't shut-up. She's asking for it. Do what you gotta do." For a long time his dislike of Hannah had been growing and he often thought about ways he might be able to get her. He had really wanted to go shut her up himself and now Alysa wasn't going to stand in his way anymore. He now had his opportunity to do what he had wanted to for a long time. He took a deep breath and got to his feet. He saw Hannah sitting down eating with a couple of her friends and a stupid smile on her face. This was something he had been thinking about for a while and now that the time had finally come he could feel his adrenaline pumping. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" he said when he stood behind her and she looked back at him with a smile. "Calling me a loser in front of my girlfriend." "Well you are a loser" Hannah said and her friends laughed, infuriating him even more. "You're pretty stupid if you think you can talk shit about me like that to my girlfriend and that I'm not going to do anything," he said. "Especially a fat-ass like you. I'm going to kick your ass. Get up." "Right here, right now?" Hannah said and she surprisingly sounded like she'd accept the offer. He looked around. There were a lot of people in the dining hall but that wasn't so much the problem. He didn't mind them seeing it. It would have been good to show people that he didn't let people badmouth him to his girl, no matter who they were. But it probably would have been broken up quickly. It wasn't the right time. "Friday at 3 o'clock," he said to her and he pointed at her. "In the quad." "Ha-ha," she laughed. "OK." The quad was an area between four of the dorms where the students would party a lot and no one ever bothered them. There was an occasional fight there and as long as things never got too out of hand, the fights would go on. Tim walked away from her. He couldn't wait until Friday at 3 p.m. He was going to unload on her. Word spread about their fight very quickly, far more than he expected it to. They did go to a fairly small school so something like that was pretty big news. No one seemed to be acting like it was a bad thing that a guy was fighting a girl - probably because Hannah was so heavy and he was so skinny. Tim just kept thinking about all of the trash talking she had done and it made him so incredibly excited to pummel her in front of everyone. The days passed as it got closer to Friday there was definitely a lot of talk about the fight that was going to occur. A few people had approached Tim and actually congratulated him about what he was doing. It made him feel better about fighting a girl which he thought might have been a problem at first. "She was in my freshman seminar class last year," this one guy, Rich, said. "I'd hear her shit talking you to other people in the class. Never knew why because I always thought you seemed like a cool dude. Glad to see you're not putting up with it. Girl or not, she shouldn't think it's OK to go around doing that." Hearing stuff like that made Tim furious and really charged him up. He was charged up about beating her up and he ended up talking about it a lot to Alysa to the point where she was even getting a bit annoyed hearing about it. It was OK though. When he showed Alysa what happens to people that badmouth him to her, it was going to be all worth it. Friday morning came and Tim figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to the gym and getting a workout in before the fight. He had been to the gym only once the previous semester and he was intimidated that all of the other guys in there could lift a lot more than he could. He didn't go back after that. He started off bench pressing. Most guys would start off benching 135 but Tim knew he couldn't do that even once. He did 95 pounds and was only able to do 6 reps before he had to rack the bar. He moved over to do some arm curls. He did 6 reps at 60 pounds with the curling bar but that was all he could. He was definitely embarrassed about how much he was lifting but he was at there at an hour that not too many other people were so it didn't really matter. There were a few girls in the other room doing cardio that weren't paying attention to him. There was one guy in the free weight section with him lifting a lot more than he could but the guy looked to be about ten years older than he was so it didn't matter. Might have been a grad student, might have been alumni, or might have been a professor that he didn't recognize. Either way he didn't really care. He started taking the plates off of the curling bar when he looked behind him and felt his heart starting to pound. He saw Hannah walking into the gym dressed like he had never seen her before. Normally she wore long-sleeved shirt and pants but now she had on a tank-top and a short pair of shorts. She looked so dumb in that attire and it wasn't anything she should have been wearing. Her skin was quite pale and the outfit really showed that off. It also showed off how thick she looked. He knew she was heavy but never really realized the magnitude of that until he saw her dressed like that. She looked much thicker than him. He walked away from the curling bar and moved over to a Nautilus machine so he could hide the amount of weight he was doing a bit easier. Hannah confidently walked up to the same curling bar that he had been using. She put 15 pounds on each side of the bar making it 75 pounds. She picked up the bar and did the first rep with no problem. Tim had only been able to do six reps at sixty pounds and he watched Hannah easily do six reps with fifteen extra pounds on there. She ended up doing a total of ten reps then put the bar down looking like she could have done more. He watched her do another ten reps and set the bar down easily again. She wasn't making eye-contact with him but he knew she knew he was there. He was trying to pretend like he was just paying attention to his own workout and not hers but at that point he couldn't help but observe what she was doing. He watched her walk over to one of the benches to press. She put 45 pounds on each side of the bar to bring it up to the 135 that he wasn't able to do. He wondered if she had seen the workout that he was doing without him knowing and was copying it. Either way, it didn't matter. She lay down on the bench and lifted the bar. She seemed to have a little bit of trouble with the first rep but once she got comfortable she looked good. She did a few easy reps and struggle a bit with the next few. As Tim felt himself getting afraid watching her lift weight that he wasn't able to, he lost track of how many reps she did but he knew she did at least eight. She continued to work out and so did he. But he had no confidence as he did. She finished before he did and it seemed like she had just come for a quick workout. But it was enough time to give him something to think about. He left the gym and started to feel panic once it set in what the situation was. He was going to fight her later and she was stronger than he was. How was he going to win? Lots of people were going to be watching the fight. Alysa was going to be watching the fight. The panic increased. The more he thought about it the more he felt afraid. He started getting fidgety. He needed someone to talk to. He couldn't talk to Alysa about it. He had talked way too much shit about what he was going to do to Hannah. He couldn't call anyone in his family and tell him he was afraid of a fat girl. It would have hurt his pride too much. There was only one person he could think of that he could talk to. "Well hello stranger!" Rose said when he came to her door. "Glad you were able to stop by. How are things going so far this semester?" "Can I talk to you about something?" he said. "Of course" she said. She sat down on her bed and looked at him with great interest. She was such a good listener. Alysa certainly never seemed like she was giving him that much attention. "Do you know Hannah Murphy?" he said. "Nope" she said. "I'm sure you do," he said a bit impatiently. "Heavy girl. Lived with Alysa last year. Blond hair, pale skin." "I don't know who she is," Rose said back. "I'm not in any of the cool crowds so I don't know many people." "OK, anyway" Tim said. He went on to tell Rose everything. He told her about all of the trouble she caused last year. He told her how Alysa finally said it would be OK if he fought her. And then he told her about seeing her in the weight room and how worried it made him. Rose was probably the only person in the world he could say that to and not feel embarrassed about it. She listened the entire time. He knew that she'd have good advice for him. She was a smart girl. "So I'm pretty worried about fighting her since it looks like she's a lot stronger than me," he said. "What do you think I should do?" "Well the ideal situation would have been for the two of you to work out your differences before it got to this point," she said with a bit of a lecturing tone. "But it sounds like it's too late for that now. So I guess all you can do now is do your best." He didn't know what to say. That was the last thing he was expecting her to say. He was hoping she would either tell him something along the lines that she was still a girl and that he'd be able to beat her or what he really wanted to hear was for her to tell him it was OK not to fight. But telling him to do his best didn't make him feel very confident. It didn't sound like she thought he could win either. And if she wasn't telling him that it was OK not to fight then he definitely felt like he had to. She looked at him quietly watching him collect his thoughts. "Alright, then" he said. "I appreciate you stopping by," she said. "I'm always here if you need to talk." 3 o'clock came and the quad was packed. It seemed like everyone had heard about the fight and they wanted to see it. Tim was nervous but he kept reminding himself everything that Hannah had done and said. He was fighting her for a reason and he had to remember that. When he saw her show up, though, he couldn't help but be nervous. She wore jeans and a long-sleeved shirt that showed off her thick arms. She had a big smile on her face and looked a lot more confident than he did. She strutted her stuff towards him and everyone cleared out of their way. The fight began and Hannah was definitely more aggressive than him. She went right at him and punched him in the face. Not only was she a lot bigger than him but he had never been in a fight before. He didn't know how to block a punch. She hit him before he could even come close to trying to block it or anything. He also didn't realize how much a punch to the face hurt. It almost knocked him on the ground and Hannah punched him in the face again before he could even collect himself. She punched him in the face again and it made him feel dizzy. He threw a pathetic punch at her that completely missed. She punched him again and it knocked him on the ground. He was ready to quit then but there was no way he could do it with Alysa and all of the people around. He looked up at Hannah smiling about what she had done to him. He was so scared to get up and he didn't want to. "Come on," she said and she slapped her chest with both hands. "Get up." He started to sit up. He had a headache and he felt dizzy. His face really hurt where she punched him. She had already rocked him pretty good when the fight started so he didn't know how he was going to have a chance now that he was shaking up. He touched his face and saw blood on his hand. With no confidence at all, he got to his feet. "Come on," Hannah said with a smile and she took a couple of steps back. "Let's see what you've got." She put her arms down to her side like she was leaving he body open for free shots. Based on the way that Hannah had punched him he realized that he didn't even know how to punch. He was afraid to even throw a punch at her but everyone was waiting for him to. He threw a wimpy punch at her face and she easily stepped out of the way of it. He threw another that she dodged. With a lot of frustration he threw a harder punch that she blocked. She grabbed his arm and punched him in the face hard. It sent him back a few steps and he almost fell down. Hannah went at him aggressively again. She punched him in the stomach then punched him twice more in the face. The second punch knocked him down again. This time Hannah got on the ground with him. She wrapped her legs around his ribs and locked her ankles, trapping him in body scissors. He knew that she had strong legs from watching her leg-press but he had no idea what it was like to be squeezed between a pair of strong legs until that moment. It felt like she was crushing his ribs and he was having a hard time breathing. It was extremely painful and he felt his eyes watering up. Heather just smiled as she trapped him in the hold, resting her head on her one hand while her elbow rested on the ground to show how easy it was. She would loosen up just a little then squeeze tightly to make him really suffer. After holding him like that for a bit, she let go, and he felt even more pain in his ribs when she let go. He was in too much pain to react and she got behind him. She put him in a chokehold with her thick arm around his throat and the other around the top of his head. He desperately pulled at her arms trying to get out of it but he was not nearly strong enough. His arms seemed so weak as he used all of his strength to try to pull her arms away but they wouldn't even budge. She was taking away his ability to breathe as she did this and he felt like he was going to pass out. It was now frightening for him and he started to cry. He had no choice but to admit that he was beat. It was the last thing he wanted to do but Hannah had certainly proven that she could beat him up and he couldn't take it anymore. He tapped out on her arm but she wouldn't let go. He tapped out faster and harder showing how desperate he was and she still wouldn't let go. "Alright, come on," Tim heard a guy say. "He's tapping out, you gotta let go." She still didn't let go and a couple of guys came up to pull her off. Even they struggled a bit since she was set on keeping him trapped in the sleeper-hold as long as she could. When they finally pulled her off and he looked up at all of the people watching he really started to cry. Looking at all of the people that had just seen him completely get his ass kicked by his arch rival was worse than actually getting beaten up. He jumped to his feet and took off running away. He ran for as long as he could but didn't get too far because his ribs were really hurting him as he ran. He sat under a tree and cried like he had never cried before. He touched his face to see it was still bleeding. He sat by himself for a couple of minutes before Alysa showed up. "Are you OK?" she said and the look on her face combined with the tone in her voice made it seem like she was just annoyed with him for losing and she didn't sound the least bit sympathetic. She didn't even touch him to try and comfort him. It really upset him. "Just leave me alone!" he said loudly and he cried more as he said it. "Fine" she said and she shook her head. And then she started to walk away. He couldn't believe it. This was his girlfriend that he cared about so much and she looked like she didn't care about him at all. He had told her to leave him alone, not because he meant it, but he just hoped that she would realize how upset he was and gave him some affection. Girls did things like that all of the time. But she just walked away, not even looking back. He cried louder intentionally and she still didn't turn around. He couldn't believe it. She walked out of sight and he wondered if she was going to even stay with him. Getting beaten up was bad, getting beaten up by someone he disliked so strongly made it much worse, and now it may have affected his relationship with his girlfriend. But that wasn't the top thing on his mind at that point. He just wanted someone that would show him sympathy. Someone that would try to make him feel better and not judge him for getting beaten up. He got to his feet and wiped the tears away from his face but still kept crying. He knocked on Rose's door hoping so much that she was there. "Oh you poor, poor thing," Rose said when she answered the door to her friend whose face was covered in blood in tears. "Come on in here. I got plenty of stuff to clean you up with. Just have a seat on the bed and try to relax, OK?" He walked inside and made sure to close the door behind him. He sat on the bed and Rose immediately reached into a cabinet to pull out some Band-Aids and ointment. She walked over to him looking a doctor ready to treat him. He just sat there as she tended to his face. He tried to hold back the tears. "Cry all you need to," she said as she cleaned his face up. "You have nothing to be ashamed about at all. Don't feel like you need to hold your tears back at all." He listened to what she said and cried more. She continued to fix up his face and it felt completely OK to cry in front of her. Her touch felt so wonderful right then. Alysa made him feel horny but he had never felt this kind of gentle touch from his girlfriend that just felt so calming. Rose wasn't the most attractive girl out there but did that really matter? This was the way he wanted to feel around a girl. "I think Alysa is going to break up with me" he said, still crying. "Why, because of this?" Rose said. "That's ridiculous." "She barely even tried to see if I was OK," he said. "She followed me and asked if I was OK and then she just walked away." "Did you say anything to her?" Rose said. "Well I told her to leave me alone," he said and he felt kind of stupid saying it. "But I didn't actually think she would just walk away. I was just upset." "Well she didn't know that," she said with a bit of a chuckle but she sounded sympathetic. "She probably just thought you wanted some time to yourself to deal with it. She loves you and she's not going to break up with you over this, don't worry. This doesn't even matter." "I don't know how I'm going to face Hannah next time I see her" he said. "You just ignore her," she said. "If she badmouths you anymore to Alysa don't even respond. If she tries to pick a fight with you then you call for campus security. Whatever you do though, don't fight her again! Nothing good comes from fighting." This certainly wasn't the position he expected himself to be in when he first challenged her but he did learn a lesson about what happens when you fight. Rose continued to work on his face, getting the blood away, and putting cream on it. It felt so nice getting that kind of attention after the beating. "There you go," she said when she finished up. "You're still bruised up but I did what I can. Remember, you have nothing to be ashamed about. Now come here." She reached in and gave him a big hug. It felt so nice and it made him want to cry more but he didn't want to do anymore crying in front of her. Instead he just hugged her tightly enjoying every moment of it. He didn't want to let go. When they did let go, she gave him a sweet smile. He walked back to his room hoping that Alysa would be there waiting for him. Maybe she would be there waiting with some nice food or just a hug. But she wasn't there at all. He laid on his bed, still feeling extremely upset. He was too embarrassed to call her. He waited for her to call, hoping so much that she would, and he wasn't going to tell her to leave him alone again, that was for sure. He ended up lying on his bed staring at the ceiling until 2 a.m. when he finally fell asleep. There was no call the entire time. He woke up the next day to no messages from her or anything. He was still very upset but he felt like things were getting ridiculous. He called her and left her a voicemail message to call him. He left her a couple of text messages that she didn't respond to. He tried contacting her a few more times during the day with no response. It was not good. When he woke up on Sunday and she still hadn't responded to any of his messages, he had had enough. He walked to her dorm room to see that it was open. She was sitting at her desk on her laptop. Luckily, no one else was there. He closed the door as he walked in and she didn't even look up at him. "Hey honey" he said. He kissed her on the lips and she kissed back but she didn't even look at him and there was no emotion in the kiss. This was not good. "Are you mad at me?" he said. "I'm sorry I told you to leave me alone the other night. I was just upset." "I know," sounding like she just wanted him to leave and she continued to look at her computer. "It's fine, don't worry about it." "OK, then why not responded to any of my calls or texts yesterday?" he said with annoyance. "What's the deal?" She finally looked away from the screen and looked him in the eyes with a look that worried him. "I don't think we should see each other anymore" she said. He couldn't believe this was actually happening. All because of Hannah. "What?" he said and he was angry. "Cause of fucking Hannah? Think about this for a minute, Alysa!" "I thought about it all night Friday and all day yesterday," she said. "That's why I didn't return any of your calls or texts. I needed some time to think and I thought really hard about it. I'm sorry." Tim wasn't sure how to respond. Their relationship was great and she was breaking up with him because he got beat up. What kind of person would do that? "You're breaking up with me because I got beat up," he said and he felt extremely ashamed saying out loud that he got beat up. "You're not really that shallow are you? Why don't you think about all of the good times we've had and think if you really want to break up with me over one stupid incident?" "I did think about all of that yesterday, Tim!" she said and she spoke loudly to show how sure she was. "I know, I'm a bitch. I'm a bad girlfriend and that's why it's better you just move on. You just looked so pathetic getting your ass kicked by Hannah like that and then crying over it. I can't be with a guy like that. I'm a bitch and you deserve better. I'm sorry." There was nothing left for him to say. She obviously wasn't going to change her mind and he would have looked even more pathetic if he stayed there and tried to convince her otherwise after what she had just said. He walked out of the room and stared crying again, not even caring if anyone walked by and saw. He had already been humiliated in front of everyone enough so any more public crying didn't matter at that point. He walked to Rose's room. "I can't believe Alysa would do that," Rose said when Tim told her. "I never would have expected her to act like that. But you're better off. There are plenty of fish in the sea and you deserve better than her, like she said." Rose was right. He did deserve better. And Rose deserved better than he had been treating her. He had turned her down early on when she showed interest in him and that was dumb of him. He could have avoided all of this if he just gave her a chance. But he learned his lesson and he knew who the girl on campus for him was. "Can I take you out to dinner tonight?" he said to her. "I'd love that" she said. He took her to a nice Italian restaurant and the two talked the entire time. She was much easier to keep a conversation going with than Alysa was. She was such a great girl and the thought of dating her made him happy and it made it seem like all of the other stuff didn't matter. When they got back to campus he walked her to her room. He went in for a kiss but she was quick to put out her hand and stop that from happening. "No, sorry Tim" she said with a smile. "What?" he said and he looked embarrassed. "Why?" "I had a great time with you tonight," she said. "So I hope the dinner didn't lead you on. I just want to be friends. That's all, OK?" "Yeah, sorry" he said. "No need to be sorry," she said with a sweet smile. "Thanks again for a great night." She closed the door and he felt his heart sink. She had liked him from the get-go and he knew it. She just didn't want to be dating the guy that she had seen crying after getting beaten up by a girl. College was supposed to be a fun experience and Hannah and now ensured that he wasn't going to get a girlfriend on campus, at least for the rest of the long year. He shook his head and walked away. **Email ajbrown2005@yahoo.com if you would like more information on my Custom Stories**
