Mud Boy By A.J. Brown A story of loss and sadness send comments to ajbrown2005@yahoo.com It was a beautiful fall afternoon and 25-year-old Bob stood next to the large mud pit and watched his 23-year-old brother, Seth, play in the mud. One might ask why a 23-year-old man was playing in mud and the reason was that although Seth was chronologically 23 he was mentally challenged. Seth had the mental capacity of a 4-year-old and he would for the rest of his life. It was very difficult for Bob to get custody of Seth. After both of their parents had recently passed away the authorities said that Seth was a person who would be in constant need of supervision and that Bob wouldn't be able to provide that for him so they wanted to put him away in a home. Bob fought extremely hard to gain custody of his mentally-challenged brother and was ecstatic when he finally gained custody. Bob watched as his brother bobbed his head in and out of the mud with his snorkel in his mouth. "Bobby, want to come in and play with me?" Seth asked in his slow, handicapped- sounding voice. Bob knew that if he jumped in the dirty mud pit with his brother it would absolutely make his day but as he stepped towards the pit he looked at his white sneakers that he didn't want to get dirty and decided against it, even at the risk of hurting his innocent brother's feelings. "That's OK, I'll just watch you from here" Bob said back to his brother, expecting disappointment. "OK" Seth replied happily and he got right back to bobbing his head in and out of the mud with his snorkel on. Bob was extremely proud of Seth for not throwing a tantrum after not getting what he wanted. He watched Seth having the time of his life, bobbing his head in and out of the mud, pretending like he was exploring in the ocean. Playing in the mud pit was Seth's favorite thing to do. Bob watched his brother play and looked at how innocent he was entertaining himself in the dirt. Tears began to fall down Bob's face as he thought about how much he loved his brother and how he felt so bad that such a sweet boy had to go through his life mentally- challenged. Bob's tears quickly went away and his sadness changed to fear when he turned his head and saw the college girl Amber walking towards him. About 6 months ago he had met Amber at a bar and she lured Bob back to her dorm room making him think they were going to hook up. Instead, for absolutely no reason other than the fact that she was a bitch, Amber put Bob in neck scissors and tortured him. Amber was a horseback rider which Bob learned gave her extremely strong legs. She had held him in her scissors that night, choking the life out of him, toying with him, making him feel like she was going to kill him. Bob would never forget those strong legs Amber had, as they were rock solid and stronger than any pair of legs he had ever felt. He would never forget the words she said as she scissored his neck ... "You have NO IDEA how strong my legs are!" Amber walked towards Bob wearing a two-piece bathing suit and carrying the bitchiest looking smile on her evil face. She had blond hair that was kind of curly. Her boobs were enormous, at least a 36D, and the swimsuit she was wearing definitely showed them off. Most girls Bob knew who had big tits also had a lot of junk in the trunk but despite her big chest, Amber still managed to maintain a nice tight little ass. She was well tanned, her legs looked as strong as ever, and she was also barefoot which Bob didn't like because it reminded him that the night she scissored him she forced him to suck on her toes, which he found totally degrading. Bob tried to hide his fear as Amber walked closer but he could tell he was not doing a good job. "Hey Bob" Amber said with her bitchy voice. "Lie on the ground. I want to scissor you again!" Although Bob was a skinny guy he stood at about 6'3 and Amber was only about 5'6 so as long as he stayed on his feet she wouldn't be able to scissor him. "No way" Bob replied sheepishly and he took a couple of steps back. "C'mon Bob, lie down" Amber laughed sarcastically. "Let's have some fun again." "Amber, seriously, don't bother me now" Bob said trying to sound assertive. "I'm taking care of my brother right now, and I told you about his situation. Let's talk about this later." Amber responded with a bigger, bitchier smile. "Well then you better lie down then" Amber warned. "Because if you don't I'm going to call Seth out of his mud pit there and scissor him." Fear and anger shot through Bob as he thought about Amber's strong legs scissoring innocent Seth. He could not let Amber scissor his brother no matter what. But as he looked at Amber's legs of steel he knew he didn't want to be scissored either. He was scared to death of her. Bob was not going to lie down. As evil as Amber was, even she wouldn't bully a retard. "I'm not lying down" Bob said sternly. "Now leave us alone." "Suit yourself" Amber smiled sinfully. "Hey Seth come out here for a second" Amber shouted in Seth's direction. Seth popped his head out of the mud, rose to his feet, and began walking out of the mud pit. Bob saw Seth walking out and he knew he had to stop him immediately. "Seth, don't!" Bob yelled at his brother but was ignored. Seth usually listened to everything his brother said but for some reason he didn't listen this time. He saw his retarded brother walking out of the mud pit and he knew he had to save him immediately. "OK fine" Bob said to Amber with urgency. "You can scissor me, just leave Seth alone. "Too late" Amber replied with a bitchy smile. Seth walked out of the mud pit and Amber picked up a towel that was on the ground and wiped him off with it. "Let's get you cleaned up a little, Seth" Amber said as she wiped him down trying to sound like she was actually a nice girl. "There we go. Now lie down on your back." "Seth, DO NOT LIE DOWN!" Bob shouted like it was the most important thing he had ever said in his life. "It's OK" Seth said to his brother with his innocent, retarded voice. "She seems like a nice lady." This was the first time ever that Seth had ignored an order from his brother. It's funny how a genuine sounding female voice can manipulate any man. Seth lied down on his back. Amber quickly fell to the ground and wrapped her legs of steel around Seth's torso. "Ow, ow" Seth cried out loud as he struggled to break free. "Ow! Bobby, help me. Please help me Bobby!" As Amber squeezed tighter Seth's words became less clear. Bob watched his innocent little brother being tortured between Amber's strong legs. He wanted to help him so badly but the only problem was there wasn't really anything he could do. Amber was a lot stronger than Bob and if he went over to help Seth out she would just end up beating both of them up and it wouldn't do any good. What was the sense in both of them getting beat up by Amber? Bob watched his poor little brother crying as he helplessly tried to break free of Amber's powerful scissors. He felt horrible that he wasn't helping his brother out. He had to do something. He began to walk towards the two until he saw that Seth's struggling was beginning to pay off and it looked like he was slowly, but surely, breaking free of Amber's scissors. It did make sense. Bob was tall and skinny and although Seth was a few inches shorter than Bob he was a good 30 pounds heavier and had an overall bigger frame. Bob became excited as he watched his brother slowly breaking free from Amber's rock-hard legs. Seth struggled some more and wasn't completely able to break free but he was able to twist his body around so him and Amber were facing each other. Seth wound back his arm and gave Amber a hard punch right in the eye. Amber appeared to be knocked out cold and her legs obviously loosened up right away. Bob was so proud of his brother. He had defeated Amber! He was certainly more of a man than Bob was. Bob walked over to congratulate Seth on what he had done but then realized Seth was bawling his eyes out. Seth didn't want to hit Amber. He knew hitting girls was wrong. He just didn't know what else to do. Bob took followed his brother's lead realizing that there was nothing to be happy about right now. He walked towards Seth to console him instead of congratulating him. Either Amber was faking being knocked out or she came to consciousness very quickly because once Bob got close to them Amber opened her eyes and kicked Bob in the forehead, hard, with her heel. Everything went black for Bob for a second and he immediately fell to the ground from the hard kick from Amber's strong, bare, foot. He got himself to his knees and saw that Amber now had Seth in head scissors, which he knew Seth was not going to be able to break out of. Bob knew he had to do whatever possible to save his brother but when he tried to get to his feet he immediately fell to the ground, still as dizzy as can be from the kick to the head. Bob looked around and saw stars and blackness but he could hear his brother crying and gasping for air. He knew how horrible the torture Seth was enduring right now was and he wanted to help him but he was too shaken up from the kick to the head to get to his feet. Bob lied on his back, seeing blackness and stars, listening to his innocent, mentally-challenged brother get tortured by bitchy Amber. After quite some time Amber eventually stopped and left and the two beaten brother just lay on the ground trying to get themselves back together. When the dizziness and blackness finally went away Bob got to his feet and went to console his brother who was still lying on the ground crying. "Why did she hurt me, Bobby?" Seth cried. "I didn't do anything wrong. I thought I was being a good boy!" Bob began to cry and held his brother in his arms. "You were a good boy" Bob said. "You were a good boy. C'mon, let's go home." Bob helped his brother to his feet and the two began walking home. Seth continued to cry the entire walk home. "She hurt me" Seth cried. "I did nothing wrong. And she really hurt me!" Bob looked at his innocent brother's suffering and he knew he had to do something to make him feel better. He thought about the one thing that Seth enjoyed almost as much as playing in the mud. "Tell you what Seth, do you want to go to the fun park?" Bob asked. Seth's eyes lit up right away and his tears dried up. "Can we really, Bobby?" Seth asked excitedly. "Yes we can" Bob replied with satisfaction. "And can I ride the horsies?" Seth asked referring to the merry-go-round. "You can ride the horsies as much as you want" Bob replied and seeing the cheer in Seth's eyes began to cheer him up as well. "When can we go, Bobby?" Seth asked. "I can't wait!" "We'll go tomorrow" Bob replied and was so glad that his innocent brother had so quickly forgotten about the horrible experience he had just endured. The next morning Bob sat in his living room waiting for his brother so he could take him to the amusement park. Seth walked into the living room and Bob looked at his slow brother. Seth was wearing a mesh baseball cap that had a completely flat brim. He wore a collared plaid shirt, khaki shorts, bright white sneakers, and white socks pulled all the way up to his knees. Seth looked like an absolute fool and Bob loved his brother for the person he was. Bob felt great pleasure that he could spend the entire day with his brother at the amusement park. There was a knock at the door and for some reason it gave Bob an extremely uneasy feeling. He peeked out the window to see who it was and he felt his stomach drop immediately. It was the agency. They were there about Seth. This was not good. Bob opened the door and Michelle from the agency was standing there with an angry look on her face. Two big men stood behind her. "Bob, did Seth punch a girl in the face yesterday?" Michelle asked sternly. "Yeah, but ... " Bob replied nervously but was cut off. "Well that poor girl has a black eye now" Michelle stated and Bob didn't feel the least bit of pity for the poor girl. "You're lucky she is not pressing charges. We told you Seth needed to be put away with special care" Michelle continued. "We told you that! We'll be taking him away now." The two large men entered Bob's house. He wanted to stop them but there was nothing he could do. The two large men grabbed Seth by the shoulders and began to drag him out of the house. "What are they doing, Bobby!" Seth cried. "What are they doing??? We're supposed to be going to the fun park!" Seth bawled as the two large men dragged him out of the house. Bob couldn't help but cry himself. Seth was removed from the house and Michelle closed the door as they left. Bob walked to the window and watched his poor brother cry as they locked him up in the van. He could still see his brother's innocent face looking out the back window of the van as it drove away. Bob thought about the previous day, watching his mentally-challenged brother happily play in the mud, and how playing in the mud was all innocent little Seth needed to feel happy in life. Tears poured down Bob's face like they never had before as he thought about the fact that Seth would never be playing in the mud again.
