Carol the Boxer By Tony BSM16@hotmail.com Female boxing student has a real bout with her male instructor My name is Tony. I'm 29 years old. I am currently a high school physical education teacher by day and a boxing instructor at a local gym at night. I was an amateur boxer from the age of 18 until I turned pro at age 21. I fought as a lightweight (135 pounds). My last fight was at age 24 when I decided to teach full time. My fighting career was fairly successful, as my amateur record was 22 wins against 10 losses with 7 knockouts, while my pro career was 11 wins and 4 losses, but only one via knockout. Since that time, I have kept myself in superb shape at the same local gym where I now give two classes each night, four nights per week. One class is for men, the other is for women. My current weight remains at my fighting weight of 135 pounds on my 5'8" frame. My body is chiseled as all my muscles are nicely defined. My biceps peak at almost 13" and my waist is a rock hard 27". I am proud of my excellent conditioning and my finely tuned hard body as I always wear a tight tank top and spandex shorts during class. I occasionally receive comments as to how fit and strong I look, especially from the ladies in my women's class. Before I begin to train my students, I give them a classroom education in boxing science. Basically, I explain the finer aspects of the sport. For instance, I explain that boxers in each weight division are comprised of varying levels of ability within each division. The championship level (called "contenders") would probably include a very small number of fighters, say under 10 worldwide. The next level would include all fighters that are just below the championship level (called "also-rans") who could never attain that highest caliber. More levels follow under that level for similar reasons. What separates all of these levels from each other is basically coordination of hand, eyes and feet. Pure brute strength, although important, is not as important as the coordination factor. The quicker a fighter can react to what his eyes perceive, the better chance he has to defeat his opponent, all other things being equal. Strength rarely comes into play if the opponents are of the same relative weight. As an extreme example, Joe Louis, the long-time heavyweight champ defeated Tony Galento, a stocky, more powerful and heavier (by 45 pounds) fighter than Louis. Louis simply used his feet and hand speed to wear down Galento until he could no longer continue. On the other hand, when Louis fought Billy Conn, then the light heavyweight champion whose boxing skills were better than Louis's, Louis was able to overcome Conn, primarily because of his weight (20 pounds) and resulting strength advantage as his skills, although not as sharp as Conn's, were still good enough. Conn, in fact was winning the fight until the 13th round when Louis was able to finally overpower his smaller opponent. The saying goes, "a good big man will always defeat a good little man." A smaller opponent could defeat a larger opponent only if his skills are greater than his larger opponent and his strength is close enough as to not be overpowered. That said, what happened to me last month, made me add a corollary to my boxing science class. My men's class was given from 6:00 to 7:30 while the women's class would begin at 8:00 and end at 9:30. Each class was the same. Stretching, skipping rope, hitting the speed and heavy bags, followed by shadow boxing and practicing throwing specific punches would be the typical class routine. Every Friday, we would actually have a sparring session where the students would box each other for three one minute rounds. They would use 16 ounce gloves and full head and mouth gear. The women must would wear a breast plate. I would be the referee and prevent any student from getting in a position to get hurt as I would whistle for as many timeouts during a match as I thought necessary. After the women's class, I regularly remained in the gym to train myself and arranged with the owner for me to be responsible for cleaning up before locking the gym each night. I would skip rope, lift some light weights and hit the speed and heavy bags. At about 10:00 on most nights, my girlfriend, Lori came by to join me in working out. Lori is a stunning 5'6" with long blond hair and blue eyes. She is extremely fit and strong as she weighs a solid 150 pounds. She has wider shoulders, larger legs and arms than I do. Her biceps measure slightly more than 14". She regularly lifts weights and she has benched a personal best of 180 pounds, the same as my best lift. Our upper body strength is virtually equal as neither of us can defeat the other in arm wrestling. She has far greater leg strength than me, however, as she can leg press over 100 pounds more than I can. She started boxing training with me about a year ago. She has developed her skills to the extent that she is now good enough to spar somewhat competitively with me. We love each other to death and we have planned to marry by the end of the year. This semester, a woman named Carol joined my class. She is 27 years old, has very attractive features and is outgoing with long brown hair and green eyes. She is very broad shouldered and weighed in at 165 pounds at 5'7". She always wore a gray sweat suit whenever she attended class. She always was friendly and took instruction well as she indicated that she respected my opinion immensely because of my boxing background. She was a very good student as she seemed to catch on quickly to the techniques I showed her and she seemed to enjoy the class more that the other women. When her first sparring session occurred, I matched her up against a woman named Joan who was about the same size as Carol. Joan was more advanced and was able to move in through Carol's defense easily and I had to give Carol several timeouts as she was getting a bit dazed from being hit so often. Although I never indicated a winner or loser of a sparring match, Carol clearly was defeated in this first match. At the end of class, she asked me if I thought she should quit and I instantly told her not to as she would improve very soon and hold her own against Joan. I said that I saw signs of skill development even in this one match. I mentioned that in my first amateur fight, I was knocked down twice and lost the fight, but had a rematch several months later and defeated that same opponent on all of the judges' cards. She thanked me for the encouragement and left the gym with a smile. Over the next few weeks, Carol did continue to improve tremendously. It got to a point that she clearly "won" all of her sparring matches. She was now much better than Joan in attained boxing skills. Her enthusiasm was noticeable as she always seemed to want to talk to me at any moment I was free to do so. One night when I knew that Lori was not coming over to workout with me and I decided to forego my usual after-class workout, I asked Carol if I could buy her a cup of coffee on the way home. She agreed wholeheartedly and we closed the gym and walked to the corner caf'. This innocent event would turn out to be a very big mistake. We were sitting and talking for quite a while enjoying each others' company when I looked at my watch and noticed that it was getting late and told Carol that I guess that we should call it a night. She walked out with me and as I turned to say good night to her, she was inches from me and kissed me on the lips. I didn't say anything, but I smiled and turned and walked home. She said "good night Tony, look forward to tomorrow night." On the way home, I hoped that what she did was not more that just a friendly gesture from a thankful student to a dedicated teacher. The next night, classes resumed as they ordinarily do. Carol came in her usual sweat suit and winked when she saw me. Class ended without anything unusual. Carol did not speak to me about last night and waved to me as she left the gym. I breathed a sigh of relief. I began my after class workout, when Lori arrived to join me. She was dressed beautifully as she had attended a 7:30 show with her sister and came straight to the gym with her gear in a gym bag. She was dressed in a dark blue sleeveless mini dress with 4' blue pumps. Her bare arms exposed her beautifully defined large biceps and she looked so sexy. I had to look up to her eyes as we embraced and kissed. Just then Carol walked in as I saw her out of the corner of my eye. Her mouth was wide open as if she were in shock. I turned to her and nonchalantly introduced Lori to Carol as Lori offered her hand to Carol. Carol, ignoring Lori's hand, blurted out "hey Tony, who's this bitch?" My response was "Carol, what's the matter with you?" Carol then said "I was coming to meet you for our date tonight." I replied "Carol, we never had any such plans, and you should apologize to Lori immediately as that remark was totally uncalled for." Carol told me "fuck you, I wouldn't give this slut the time of day." Now Lori was pissed and told Carol "look I don't know you from a hole in the wall and I should not have to explain my business to you. But Tony and I are engaged to be married and I don't know where you come off with your big mouth." Carol then interjected "look bitch, if you want to make something of it, I'll kick you're ass right in that ring over there if you've got the guts." Lori answered "you got yourself a fight you fat slob." I now butted in "look ladies, there is a complete misunderstanding here and I suggest..." At that point, Lori stopped me and said, "Tony, I am not going to let her get away with this. I'm going inside to change and I am definitely going to fight this jerk. So don't waste your breath in trying to stop me." Carol said "fine, now I'll kick your ass but good." Lori went to the locker to change. Carol now entered the ring and asked me for the 8 ounce gloves. I told her "there is no way I'll let you fight Lori with 8 ounce gloves. If you have to do this, then it will be with my rules, not yours. What the hell has gotten into you Carol? I never saw this side of you." Carol then said "I thought you and I were finally getting together when you finally asked me out last night." I then said "Carol, that was a completely innocent thing. All I did was buy you coffee. I honestly was shocked when you kissed me and I was speechless. I regarded it as your being thankful for my teaching you the skills you have mastered so far." "Well, I didn't think if was just a little coffee. I thought you were making advances to me and now your bitch is going to pay for that, Carol angrily retorted. I pleadingly said, "please Carol, I apologize. Please don't fight Lori, I don't want anyone to get hurt needlessly." Carol said "the only one that's going to get hurt is Lori and if you don't shut your fucking mouth I'll take you on next." I figured the less said the better. Lori emerged from the locker room dressed in a black sports bra, gym shorts and boxers' high laced shoes. I considered Lori to be an advanced student who can hold her own in a match. I was concerned, however, that Carol outweighed Lori by 15 pounds. But I discounted this because Lori was very strong and I felt that she could handle Carol based on my observations of Carol's sparring sessions in class. When Lori entered the ring, she asked me for the 8 ounce gloves also. I explained as I did to Carol that I thought that was not appropriate. Carol overheard Lori's request and said "Hey Tony, are you afraid I might hurt your pretty girlfriend?" Lori answered Carol "don't fret you slob, I'm not afraid of you at all. Tony, get me the damn 8's okay" Lori demanded of me. I relented against my better judgment and got the gloves as both ladies taped up. I set the clock for 2 minute rounds. The ladies were all ready to start and I rang the bell. Lori circled as Carol pursued. Lori threw jabs while moving and caught Carol a few times. Carol now started to plod straight in and caught Lori in a corner. Lori shot a couple of combinations which connected to Carol's face. Carol kept coming. Carol countered with punches to Lori's mid section. Lori felt these shots as she made a couple of squealing sounds. They were now toe to toe and exchanging hard punches, most of which were connecting. Suddenly Carol caught Lori with a shot to her forehead, which seemed to bypass the headgear and Lori dropped to the canvas. I jumped in between and began to count. Carol screamed to Lori "get up bitch, I haven't even hit you yet." I told Carol to back away and she complied. My count reached 8 and Lori got up slowly. I asked her if she was okay and she nodded yes. I allowed her to continue. Lori then walked towards Carol and they again engaged with power punches. Carol again had the better of this as Lori began to back up and cover. It was becoming apparent that Carol was just too strong for Lori and she had no chance to win the bout. Carol began to unload as Lori went into a completely defensive shell. Lori was now reeling, and I stepped in to stop Carol's onslaught. I told Carol that the fight was over as Lori was now helpless, her back against the ropes. Carol told me "fuck you Tony, I'm not finished yet." I said "oh yes you are" and I grabbed Carol and turned her around so that I could now wrap my arms around her and led her to the other end of the ring so that she could calm down. I pushed Carol into the corner and was walking back toward Lori, when Carol hit me in the back of my head several times. I was dazed and, before I could clear my head, Carol began to pummel Lori who was out on her feet. When I could see clearly, I tackled Carol from behind and took her down to the mat and grabbed her arms behind her back. I pulled her arms up toward her head until she cried out in pain. I told Carol "I'll only let you go if you leave the gym immediately and promise never to return." She cried "okay let me go." Good to her word, she walked out of the ring and toward the exit, but just before she left, she yelled out "hey Tony, I'm coming back for you. You're lucky you didn't have the guts to face me because I would have beat the fucking shit out of you too. You grabbed me from behind like the coward I know you are. Take care of your little girlfriend, she needs you now." I didn't acknowledge Carol's taunts and turned my attention to Lori who had fallen down to the mat and was hurt. Carol had really beaten Lori up as she was in much pain in her rib area. Lori was very dazed at first but appeared to be okay as she was now becoming more alert. She said she didn't realize how strong Carol was. I added that I didn't either. Because we always used the 16 ounce gloves during class sparring sessions, Carol never hurt anyone prior to this. Lori said if she knew the extent of Carol's power, she would never have tried to slug it out with her, but I doubted that she could have beaten Carol in any event. As strong as Lori was, she was nowhere as strong as Carol proved to be. In any event, I think we saw the last of Carol. I helped Lori to her feet, grabbed her clothing from the locker and took her to my apartment for the night where I held her and consoled her hurting body. She said to me "I'm sorry I let you down." I replied "I should never have let you fight her with 8 ounce gloves. She could have hurt you worse and I would never forgive myself for that. So, I have to apologize to you more than the other way around." We kissed and then made love until we fell asleep. Several weeks went by and nothing of note occurred. I was completely involved in my teaching routines and continued to train after hours. Lori came by on most nights and continued to train with me as if nothing had happened. It appeared that Carol was now a distant memory. Then one evening, coincidentally on a night when Lori had another engagement, I was training by myself in the gym and as it was almost 11:30 I was about to close up for the night. Carol suddenly appeared and shouted to me from the exit "hey Tony, I told you I would be back for you, and now I'm going to kick your fucking ass." She was dressed as she always did, in her gray sweats. I told her, "Carol, kindly take your problem out the door and don't come back, understand." Carol then said "you're not getting out of this, Tony." I'm going into the locker room to change, now get your damn gloves on and be ready to fight me when I come out. Do YOU understand?" I told her "if you take one step forward, I'm going to call the police." Carol said "you pitiful coward, are you scared to fight a girl?" Carol, ignoring my threat, then turned and locked the door from the inside and walked into the locker room. I had a choice now, I either call the police and risk her returning some other night or take care of her now. I opted for the latter idea. I began to get my gear. I heard Carol's footsteps as she came out of the locker room. She had removed her sweats completely and all she was wearing were gym shorts and high topped boxing shoes. Her top was completely bare as she displayed her enormous round breasts which did not sag at all. This was the first time I had ever seen Carol's exposed body and was she an incredible sight. She had wide rounded powerfully built shoulders and her possibly 16" biceps and forearms bulged. Her stomach displayed a four pack. Her quadriceps and calves were massive and hard. I never saw a woman in person who exhibited so much muscularity and obvious strength. She was wearing her gloves and no headgear. She tied back her long brown hair into a ponytail. She entered the ring and with a stern tone said "now we're going to do this "man to man". She demanded I remove my tank top so that we can do this "like professional boxers". I complied. She then said "now these are the rules little man. There will be no rounds. The fight ends when you're knocked out." I answered sarcastically "does it end when you're knocked out?" She said "in your dreams asshole." I did not put any headgear on, just a mouthpiece as did Carol. We walked toward each other to stare each other down I guess. Although I was an inch taller than Carol, I was completely overwhelmed by her size as she was much bigger than me. I was mostly concerned with her upper body as she outweighed me by 30 pounds and I now realized from her bout with Lori and seeing the enormity of her body that she was much stronger than me. My main advantage, however, was my tremendous conditioning and boxing ability. After all, I fought professionally against men. The downside is that in my experience, I fought two welterweights (147 pounds) when I was only 135 pounds and although I had better skills than them, I could not beat them because they were too strong for me as both of them knocked me out within four rounds. The same conditions were true against Carol's greater weight and strength. My competitive nature, however, ruled over common sense in this case and I proceeded to fight her. We touched gloves and I began moving quickly from side to side and jabbing constantly. I was having early success hitting Carol at will. She never sparred with anyone as quick as me before. She tried to jab back but I was not there. I continued this routine hoping to frustrate her into lowering her guard, but she kept plodding forward trying to corner me. I tried to ignore her large provocative breasts which pulsated when she moved. She moved close to me and swung a wild right at me but missed, leaving herself open. I countered with a hard left hook to her chest just under her right breast and followed with a straight right to her head. She backed up a bit and I felt that I had hurt her and continued in with hard combinations as I backed her into a corner. I kept winging shots and connected with most of them as she was weakening. I stepped back to determine her condition and noted that she was a bit wobbly and I went back in to finish her. I threw more combinations using all of my strength, as I did not want Carol to have a chance to regroup, and she began to fall forward past me. She hit the canvass and rolled onto her back. I started to walk away, but Carol began to rise after about three seconds. I allowed her to get up and asked her "are you okay Carol? Do you want to call it now?" As expected she cursed me and said "come on is that all you got?" I was now very confident that I would win quickly. I then walked in to put her down for good as I started throwing combinations to her body and face. Suddenly she hit me with a right uppercut that sent me reeling to the other side of the ring. It was the hardest punch I have ever been hit with in my boxing career. I was hurt and I saw Carol coming at me, her biceps were bulging and I felt too dazed to move away so I hoped to cover up and try to weather the storm that was about to erupt. She began to swing at my face with both hands and I was bobbing and weaving trying to avoid her powerful fists. I tried to grab her and hold on, but she pushed me off of her into the corner. Then she hit me in the chin with a left hook and I felt my legs go out from under me and I fell to the canvass. She was glowering over me and gloated "what happened to all those manly muscles you have? I'm only a female and I knocked a "big strong man" like you down on your ass. Come on get up and fight like a man." I got to my feet but my faculties weren't that clear yet. As she was closing in, I threw a hard right to her face which stopped her in her tracks for a second or two. My head began to clear up and now I was desperately going toe to toe with Carol. We both were swinging hard and, although I was connecting she was no longer backing up. I was losing power in my punches. Again she connected to my jaw with a big right and I was down on the floor for a second time. I got up slowly and she attacked me again, hitting me more frequently. Now I knew she had me as I couldn't punch back any longer and she pushed me into the corner and started pounding me with hard lefts and rights. I felt myself falling but she grabbed me and said "I'm not through with you yet you weakling." She propped me on the ropes and hit me a few more times and I fell to the floor face up for the third and last time. The fight was over. She had beaten me up thoroughly and convincingly. I came to sometime time later. Carol was standing over me and I instinctively covered my face and begged "please Carol don't hit me anymore. You win. I admit that I can't beat you. Please, no more." She stood over me, her exposed breasts standing out as if held up by supports. Carol was looking down at me as she appeared even bigger and stronger than she had when she first entered the ring. I then noticed that she had removed her gloves and tape. Carol then said "look you weakling, I'm going to leave now and I won't be back. I just wanted you to see my face one last time so that you can always remember the humiliation that you "a professional fighter, a man" was knocked out by a mere woman." I now stood up and backed away from Carol as I simultaneously removed my gloves. Her power frightened me and we both knew I was defenseless against her. I did not want to give her any reason to attack me again. In my warmest and most calming tone of voice, I said "Carol, I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart if I insulted you in any way and I hope that we could part company amicably. I've always liked you very much as I thought you were the best female student I ever had. I thought that you had the same passion for boxing that I always had and that's why I may have seemed to "hit" on you although that was never my intention. Lori and I have been in love with each other for several years and I'm sorry that you did not know this as I never thought to bring this matter to your attention. I'm awfully sorry for your hurt feelings and I really want to help you feel better if I can. Just tell me what I can do for you." Carol now seemed to be regaining her senses as she listened intently and tears appeared in her eyes. After a brief period of silence, Carol, her voice breaking, seemed to realize how her actions against Lori and me were totally uncalled for. She said tearfully "I'm sorry Tony. You're right about everything. I'm very sorry I hurt Lori. Please ask her to forgive me for that and all the disgusting things I said to her". Carol was sobbing quietly. I felt relieved and less fearful of her now. She continued "please forgive me Tony for hurting you and for the bad things I said." She was now crying uncontrollably. Instinctively, I walked over to her and put my arms around her and brought her close to me as I hugged her and caressed her bare back. She was still crying. She responded by embracing me with her powerful arms but did so very gently. We now held each other compassionately as Lori and I often do. I had a fearful sensation as I thought to myself that I'm now consoling a very unstable person who is twice as strong as me and can kill me with her bare hands if she had a mind to. I couldn't help but notice how my muscular, but small arms dwarfed in comparison to her huge bulging biceps. I realized that I wasn't thinking clearly when I agreed to fight her as she was so much more powerful than any opponent I ever fought in my life. I was in the ring with someone who is probably as strong as some small male heavyweights. I was totally aroused while holding her naked upper torso, her breasts firmly against my chest, and had to control myself as I did not want Carol to notice my sexual attraction for her. We held each other for a few minutes as Carol regained her composure. I again backed away and we had a final conversation before she left the gym for the last time. I no longer feared that she may attack me. She got dressed and helped me tidy up. Once outside the gym, I kissed her on the cheek and she kissed me back on mine, she smiled warmly and we bid each other goodbye as we walked away in separate directions. Women's boxing is a relatively new trend. While I was a fighter, women did not compete except sporadically in small towns every now and then. Nobody ever took them seriously. Women began to attend gyms to get themselves into better physical condition and soon took up boxing in classes like mine. Soon, some talented females began to fight on the under cards of some main events and received much publicity and the sport is now thriving to some extent. Still, it is unheard of for males to fight females for all the obvious reasons. Because of my own personal experience with Carol, I have now come to a vastly different opinion as I had previously. Although, in general, women are weaker than men at the same weight level and could not compete equally, a heavier woman can definitely compete with a lighter male as long as they have comparable skills. I'm not sure at what weight to "handicap" a female competitor, but there is definitely a point where they are equal in strength and, I guarantee, in the near future, some promoter will come up with scientific proof of the proper weight handicap and set up marquee attractions featuring man versus women matches. From personal experience, I as a lightweight fighter consider myself as having excellent skills which allowed me to compete with all but the "championship caliber fighters". I felt that my skills were almost on par with those elite fighters but I was not as strong as they were and, ultimately, would lose the fight as the bout progressed. I never was able to knock anyone out with one punch. The few knockouts that I was credited with were of the variety where my opponent could not continue. I seldom knocked opponents down, as I can think of only a handful throughout my career. Hypothetically, I think if Lori, at 150 pounds, and I had a real match, I would defeat her every time because she was not at my skill level. However, if she was, I believe we would be evenly matched as she is as strong as I am at 135 pounds. Carol, however, is far stronger than me at 165 pounds and she proved that I, even with my vastly superior skills, could not match up to her at all. I did knock her down but she recovered quickly and adjusted her approach immediately so that I could no longer take advantage. Initially, she wasn't prepared for my speed. If she and I fought ten more times, I believe that she would knock me out each time because of her tremendous advantage over me in brute strength which more than compensated for my advantage in skills. I believe that she probably could compete against almost most non-elite middleweight (165 pounds) male fighters because of her tremendous strength. The main thing is that from now on, when I explain to my class about the axiom that "a good big man will always defeat a good little man", I will replace the word "man" with "person".
