Tales of Supergirl, Last Daughter of Krypton featuring, Wonder Woman. NOTE: This story combines elements of the WW episode 'Fausta, the Nazi Wonder Woman' and 'Wonder Woman Meets Baroness Von Gunther'. Since I did take some lines straight from those episodes, it's best to acknowledge the writers; Bruce Shelly and David Ketchum for Fausta, and Margaret Armen for the Baroness. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful then a locomotive and able to soar across the sky like a bird Supergirl has dedicated her life to fighting for truth, justice, and our planet. Sole survivor of her home world Supergirl poses as mild mannered secretary Linda Kent ... She is as beautiful as Aphrodite, posses the wisdom of Athena, swifter than Mercury, and stronger than Hercules. Princess Diana has come to Man's world to bring Amazon ideals of love, peace, and equality to a world torn by the hatred of men as Wonder Woman ... These two champions of justice star in, Fausta the Nazi Superwoman Colonel Kesselman was a busy man. The Third Reich was fighting on multiple fronts for its very existence yet here he was about to watch a pointless presentation. Yet Fausta Grables had orders from the Fuhrer himself. Combined with the fact she was a favorite of Hitler's meant he had to listen to her. Of course that didn't mean he had to like it. "I do hope this is important Fausta." He remarked with distain. Standing next to his desk as the staff set up the film projector was Fausta. She was a tall athletic woman. Her blonde hair could have gone down to her neck and shoulders, but she had it in a braid going around her head. Deep blue eyes combined with her wonderful physique made Fausta a prefect example of the 'Master Race'. Kesselman was happy she didn't wear a uniform; it was insulting enough that this former Olympic athlete had more prestige with Hitler than him. Instead she wore a blouse and skirt with a Nazi armband. Though Kesselman was annoyed with Fausta, that didn't stop him from admiring her long nylon covered legs when she entered his office. Fausta looked at the stiff standoffish Colonel. Typical man, she thought. Although she served the Reich without question, Fausta was constantly annoyed that the men of the military and Nazi Party viewed her as nothing but a simple fraulein playing spy. Had she not preformed excellently in Norway, France, and even Africa? No matter, when I succeed in my latest mission Kesselman and all the others will be nothing compared to me, Fausta knew. "It is of utmost importance Colonel. I assume you know of our recent difficulties in America?" she began. He nodded, "Yes. Spy rings being rounded up, our sabotage efforts stopped. Many of our best agents captured." His department had no good answers for the sudden bad luck. "Not to mention the lost of several U-Boats." Fausta added. "It is war Fausta; of course we'll take losses." Kesselman snorted, foolish woman. Fausta saw that the projector and screen were ready. She nodded to the staff to turn off the lights as they left. Then she walked over to the projector. With the flip of a switch she began the movie, "This was captured in North Africa. It is being shown in America and Britain according to POWs." She explained. Kesselman sighed as the droning American newsman of the film began talking. Both Fausta and he spoke prefect English so they required no translation. First he decided that Fausta was wasting him time as he predicted. Then he saw the footage from Metropolis. The reporter went on, "Supergirl appeared last month at a War Bonds rally. The Girl of Steel demonstrated her amazing powers to a crowd of eager hardworking factory workers." The German Colonel watched in stunned disbelief as a young woman wearing a tight revealing outfit lifted an artillery piece with a single hand! Next she calmly walked through a torrent of flames without harm. Finally and most shocking, she lifted off the ground and flew like a Messerschmitt! "Impossible." He declared, "It's an American trick, one of their useless Hollywood productions!" Fausta shook her head, "Hardly Colonel, watch." Kesselman now saw something even worse, the movie told of Supergirl's continued efforts to aid the United States Navy. They were showed a naval base. Waiting was a ring of soldiers and sailors. Suddenly out of the sky appeared a large object. Kesselman's jaw dropped when it came into clear view. A U-Boat held aloft by this 'Supergirl'. She set the submarine down on the ground. He sunk in his seat as he watched the crew of the U-Boat taken prisoner by the waiting U.S. soldiers. "Enough!" Kesselman commanded. Fausta stopped the projector and waited for the Colonel to speak, "We are sure that was one of ours?" "Yes the naval command confirmed it, U-571. She was reported lost shortly before this film was made. It is all true Colonel, this Supergirl is real." Fausta said the last part with a bit of glee. She was entranced by display of power. Kesselman shook his head, "If this true we must do something. She could wipe out our entire submarine fleet. What if she came to Britain?" He began having visions of the incredible woman knocking bombers and fighters out of the sky. What is to keep her from dropping right into Berlin? Kesselman wondered. "What if 'they' came to Europe is the question Colonel." Fausta replied. She was restarting the movie. Kesselman was confused. "Fausta what are you talking about what do you mean 'they'?" She smiled. Restarting the film the woman waited a few minutes then the Colonel was shown the other threat to Germany, Wonder Woman. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .. Kesselman sat with Fausta still coming to grips with everything he had seen. First there was this Supergirl then another uberfraulein, Wonder Woman. She seemed just as powerful. The film he watched showed her easily deflecting bullets with a pair of bracelets, faster then any human should be able to move. Plus she had incredible strength as well, lifting a Jeep into the air at a War Bond rally. The newsreel had also given him the information that these women were the reason for Nazi Germany's failures inside America. "Wonder Woman and Supergirl are a threat Colonel, one the Fuhrer has demanded be dealt with." Fausta informed him. So that was it. Fausta must have heard these rumors and used her privileged status to share these tales with Hitler. He had always been fascinated by the fanciful, Kesselman knew, it had probably been easy to get his approval for what Fausta had planned, "So what has he ordered?" Fausta reached into her briefcase and removed a brown binder. There were two one for each of them. Kesselman took it and read the cover: OPERATION FRAULEINS: SUPERGIRL & WONDER WOMAN. Opening it he read the summary, "You are serious?" "That is right Colonel, the Fuhrer has given me the honor and pleasure to capture Wonder Woman and Supergirl, and then bring them back to the Reich for study. Then we will make their powers ours." Fausta proudly boasted. To think of what I could do with Supergirl's flight or Wonder Woman's speed, the spy thought. Kesselman was less infused, "Fausta how do you plan to do that? From what you showed me Wonder Woman and Supergirl are powerful. How do you intend to find them and subdue them?" "I already have a plan all I need is for you to get me into the United States safely." She intentionally didn't provide him with details since she hadn't work all them out herself. "My department is pressed we are already quite busy ... " Kesselman began. Fausta stood and simply said, "Well we could always take this up with the Fuhrer." Kesselman cursed to himself. He would not win that fight, he had to give the woman what she wanted, "Fine, I'll have transport ready for you tomorrow." "Thank you Colonel." Fausta turned and left the office. She was completely confident in her ability to defeat and capture the two superwomen. Wonder Woman would be the first part of her plan. In fact she already knew the prefect way to lure her target to her. The still undiscovered spy-ring in Washington had found someone who had a connection to Wonder Woman, Major Steve Trevor. Metropolis "Linda! Linda!" Linda Kent turned to see a rushing Lois Lane coming. The reporter was running all over the bullpen as she always did before a deadline, "Lois, what is it?" "My notes on that black market ring that Supergirl broke up yesterday, have you seen them?" the frantic reporter pleaded. "Yeah, they're on my desk. You asked me to put them there two hours ago so you didn't lose them." Linda smirked. Lois frowned then chuckled, "Thanks Linda, where are you going?" Linda was finished putting her coat on, "Going to grab a quick bite to eat real fast and meet a friend of mine." Lois of course was already leaving. She offered a quick 'have fun' before she jumped back behind her desk and started pounding away at her typewriter. The secretary shook her head and told the Chief that she was stepping out for a half-hour. Perry gave her the A-Okay and returned to his own work. Linda nodded and headed for the elevators. Going down she recalled the incident Lois mentioned fondly. Mobsters had been running a lucrative black market at the city's and Army's expense. Fake ration stickers, illegal gasoline, even military weapons were being stolen and then sold, till she had stopped them. Linda AKA Supergirl was doing her own part for the American war effort. Supergirl had been busy ever since the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor. Pledging to President Roosevelt to help out with in reason she began to make the U.S. safe from German and Japanese attacks and sabotage. Her latest efforts involved the hunting and removal of German U-Boats from the Atlantic. However she would not sink them as the Navy originally wanted. Supergirl had taken a lot of public relations flak for it, but she refused to kill anyone, even if they were the enemy. Luckily the Navy got over its disappointment fast. With each captured U-Boat they got tons of intelligence and technical secrets. Tonight though, she was staying home. It was important to Linda that she maintained her presence in the city she loved and swore to protect. Plus it gave her a chance to meet and catch up with recent but already good friend. It was a short walk from the Daily Planet to the diner she had agreed to meet her friend at. Once inside she didn't need her X-Ray vision to spot her friend. Heading over to the booth she had grabbed Linda smiled and called out, "Yeoman Prince." A woman wearing a naval uniform with black glasses got up and hugged the blonde secretary. Yeoman Diana Prince smiled, "Linda Kent its good to see you too." "Yes we haven't seen each other for what?" Linda asked sarcastically as they sat down. Diana answered, "Oh it's been weeks hasn't it." She winked at Linda. In reality Linda and Diana had just seen each other the night before at the black marketers' hideout. Except then they had been Supergirl and Wonder Woman. Just as Linda Kent was Supergirl's secret identity, Yeoman Prince was Princess Diana's. The two superheroines had met for the first time when both had shown up to stop the same group of Nazi saboteurs. Together the two had stopped the demolition of a Liberty Ship construction yard. It wasn't long before the War Department thought it would be a great idea to have both of America's ladies of liberty together for rallies. Between that and joint adventures against the Axis plus regular crime, the two women had become good friends. Linda was excited to have another person with similar abilities around. Someone who she could share experiences with and not have to keep secrets from (Finally. Before Linda just had her parents). For Diana, Linda had given her some insights into 'Man's World'. Plus it had been rewarding to know there was another strong woman who was inspiring people beside herself. Plus like Linda, it was nice to have someone to share their experiences with. As they ordered and ate the two talked about everything they could in public. Both of them enjoyed the chance to sit back and forget the pressures of crime fighting and the war. Shortly after they finished eating Linda looked at her watch, "I have to get going." "So do I. Steve is probably waiting for me at the airport, we're heading back to Washington for awhile." Diana said. "A shame we'll probably not see each other for awhile, outside our night jobs of course." Linda replied. The ladies stood up and put their coats on. Paying their bill they walked out and paused for a minute outside the dinner. Keeping her voice quiet, "So anything I should know about war wise?" Linda asked. If there were any German plans afoot it would be good to have a heads up. Diana shook her head, "No things are quiet for the moment. All I have on my plate is Steve's paperwork and my war rallies." She told Linda about an upcoming one. "One for federal employees eh? Stingy people if I recall." Linda joked. "No secretaries are even more penny pinchers as I've learned." Diana countered. They both laughed. Linda gave Diana a final hug and the two parted ways. One week later, Washington D.C. Fausta was pleased with the progress so far. The covert insertion into the United States had gone smoothly. She had made contact with a small unbroken spy group in Washington D.C. and they got a base of operations. It was an old mansion owned by a Nazi sympathizer. From there Fausta worked on finalizing her plan to capture America's superheroines. As she had learned in the war, simplicity guaranteed success. Tonight she would sneak into the War Department disguised as an ordinary maid. Then once she found Major Trevor she would gas and kidnap him. Fausta knew the Major would not be missed till later that morning leaving plenty of time to set her trap. Once they were ready she would phone Trevor's assistant and report that she had found a note. Trevor wrote the note for Wonder Woman. The location Fausta passed on would be the site of her ambush, a warehouse. Wonder Woman would come running to save him only to be captured by Fausta's men. It was a fool proof plan. However her plan was so far only covered Wonder Woman. Supergirl was proving, as the Americans said, 'a tougher nut to crack'. Fausta had spent nearly a day reading everything she could on this Girl of Steel. It was known that she operated out of Metropolis but Fausta knew that traveling long distances inside America was dangerous. The more she and her men moved around the chances of them being discovered by the FBI or Police rose sharply. There would also be no time to waste after Wonder Woman was her prisoner. The more she thought about it, Fausta decided she needed to bring Supergirl to her, but how? "Fraulein Grables, we are ready to head to the War Department." One of her men reported. She nodded, "Very well." Fausta was already dressed for the part toning down her natural beauty into that of a late night maid, "Let's proceed." ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . By the next day the confidence Fausta felt over her 'foolproof' plan had turned into frustration. Kidnapping Trevor had gone exactly as planned. Then her phone call to his assistant, a Yeoman Prince worked as well. Finally Wonder Woman had shown up. Fausta was nearly dumbstruck seeing her with her own eyes. Tall and athletic she seemed to exude power and strength. Her black raven hair fell to her shoulders and her face was that of a starlet. She was so powerful that Fausta could look past her blatant American costume; Red bustier with a golden eagle, a star spangled blue swimsuit bottom, tanned shinny tights (of satin perhaps?) over her toned legs with red and white boots. Wonder Woman even had a golden belt to go with the metal bracelets and the tiara Fausta had seen on film. This woman who had fascinated Fausta's mind was now using all her abilities to completely defeat the men Fausta had ordered to capture Wonder Woman. With ease the superheroine beat each of them. Two were thrown like dolls across the room. One man was left standing. Fausta watched as he was caught, in of all things, a golden lasso! What happened next though grabbed her attention. The man told Wonder Woman everything he wanted including the location of Major Trevor. When he was done she released him. "He is the bravest man I know." The agent next to her answered shocked by what had happened, "The lasso must have great power." Fausta thought about that out loud, "The power to force him to tell the truth?" She speculated about that as Wonder Woman freed Trevor and then left with the American officer. Fausta and her man walked from their hiding spot into the open. She knew they should leave now before the police came. "Fraulein Grables! Fraulein Grabes!" it was the man Wonder Woman had lassoed he had returned. "Yes Muller." She calmly waited for him to speak, hiding her anger. "It was incredible; I had to tell her truth! There was no choice for me." Muller explained. The other agent with Fausta grumbled, "With a weapon like that we'll never capture Wonder Woman." Fausta smiled, "That golden lasso is exactly why we WILL capture her." The men asked her to explain, "Do you remember the Maginot Line? The Fuhrer himself showed us how to take an enemy's strength and turn it into their greatest weakness. We must use the lasso to force Wonder Woman to tell us her secrets." Her man asked, "But how? She knew this was a trap, Wonder Woman won't walk into another." "We must present a situation that she will not be able to resist ... I will dress as Wonder Woman and appear in public. She will be forced to confront the obvious imposter." Muller asked how they could do that and if they could even control Wonder Woman when she appeared. Fausta answered, "We must choose the site carefully somewhere she will not suspect trouble but also a place we can control. Also we put her mind elsewhere, appealing to her sense of competition." It was Muller's turn to smile. He saw this now as a chance to make up for his earlier failure, "I know the prefect place. A noon time War Bond rally for federal employees. My cover is being part of the War Bond tour Fraulein. I can get us in." Fausta chuckled, yes this new plan will work, "Excellent. Wonder Woman can feel 'patriotic' as she makes her last public appearance." Together the Nazis headed for a hidden car before the Americans could arrive. As they drove Fausta felt renewed confidence. Except she still wasn't sure how to capture Supergirl, Perhaps this lasso of Wonder Woman's can help? They have met many times according to the papers. Maybe Wonder Woman will not only give me the way to defeat her, but Supergirl as well? The next day, Washington D.C Diana was still wondering what the whole incident with Steve had been about. Someone had obviously wanted to ambush her but didn't count on her ability to fight her way out of it. She was sure that whoever had gone to all that trouble would try again. Checking the clock on the wall of the office, Diana saw it was just about time for her to make a public appearance. The noon rally was only a few minutes away. She had already come up with a good excuse to explain her absence, donating blood. Neither did she need to worry about finding a good place to change into her costumed identity. Almost everyone in the department had gone to watch the rally, leaving plenty of empty offices and rooms. Diana found one overlooking the rally spot. She spotted Steve and Etta waiting for it to start. The Amazonian princess removed her false glasses and prepared to undo the bun in her hair. That's when she saw the rally start, with another Wonder Woman! The organizer started speaking welcoming all the employees. Everything was on stage that they had talked about, a bell she would hit to designate the day's bond goal, a huge barbell to show off her strength to the crowd. However there had been nothing about another Wonder Woman. Probably something the Special Service people cooked up, Diana thought, it will make a good show I guess. Letting her hair fall free she began a ballet like spin in place. There was a burst of energy and light, no longer did Yeoman Prince stand in the room but Wonder Woman. She wore her costume complete with golden belt and lasso. One small change was a golden mask. It had been something the Americans had asked her to wear at the first couple of rallies she had preformed in. As her face became more publicized she had decided to do without it. Of course the fake Wonder Woman on stage needed it. So Diana would copy it and play along. The crowd would have fun pondering which of them was real. ... ... ... ... .. Fausta was excited, everything was set. Muller in his American uniform and her dressed as Wonder Woman were on stage. No one seemed to suspect she wasn't Wonder Woman. The costume was working perfectly with the golden mask. She completed the disguise with a dark wig to cover her blonde hair. So far Fausta had entertained the crowd by just being there. Also she had played an American carnival game, where one tries to ring a bell with a large mallet. Luckily her excellent physical condition allowed Fausta to ring the bell easily, further wooing the people watching the stage. Suddenly there was a series of confused noises from the crowd. Entering the stage was another Wonder Woman, which only the Germans knew to be the real one. Muller and Fausta exchanged a look. The thinnest smile crept onto her face; Wonder Woman has fallen for my trap! Your competitive spirit will be your undoing Wonder Woman! Muller played up the moment, "People if I can afford to bring you two Wonder Women, surely you can afford to give twice as much from your wallets." There was applause from the audience. The real Wonder Woman walked over to the mallet and bell. She brought it up and hammered the device. Like a rocket the bell shot up, rang briefly before flying off into the air. A roar went up from the crowd. Wonder Woman smiled, "You know what we're trying to tell you, the sky is the limit when it comes to bonds!" Muller spoke again he knew it was now time to set the trap, "I bet you people are trying to decide which of these ladies is the real Wonder Woman. Let's find out shall we." Fausta looked at Wonder Woman. The superheroine showed no signs that she thought there was any danger. In fact the only look on her face was one of friendly competition. Fausta waved her hand over giving permission for Wonder Woman to go first. However the heroine had her hand outstretched. Plus the expression on her face said, no by all means you first. Knowing it would be unwise to delay any longer Fausta walked over to the barbell. This was the key to trapping Wonder Woman. Below an agent of hers waited for the right moment to release a trap door hidden in the stage. Muller had fashioned a tiny peephole so that their man could see when it was time to trigger the door. Since Fausta was also dressed as Wonder Woman, she made sure to wear something that would distinguish her from the real one. That was provided by the bright patriotic cape she wore, conveniently provided by Wonder Woman to the Special Services for use at rallies. Beneath the stage, the Nazi agent waited. He saw that it was Fausta above him so he took his hands off the lever for the trap door. Instead he made sure that his secret weapon was ready. Pulling a clean handkerchief from his pocket, the German then opened a bottle of chloroform. Unscrewing the cap he poured a heavy amount of the liquid onto the rag. He then placed it in his hand and returned his attention to the lever. Above, Fausta had lifted the barbell. It was heavy enough that she worried about showing that it was too heavy for her. Once again her Olympic training paid off and she lifted the bar nearly over her head and then returned it. Walking back to Muller and Wonder Woman, Fausta gestured that it was now the heroine's turn. Diana smiled at the imposter and moved over ready to show the people her Herculean strength. Behind her Fausta's body tensed in anticipation. Wonder Woman now in front of the barbell grasped it in one hand. She was planning on lifting it one handed over her head, then flipping it, and balancing it in the palm of her hand. Diana was confident this display would leave the crowd in awe and with no doubt who the real Amazon Princess was. Below the stage, the agent watched. His hands ready to yank the lever. He watched as the second Wonder Woman appeared and saw that this was the real one. Like Fausta he too was nervous, since he had to actually subdue the superheroine. She had gripped the bar and was ready to lift it. It's now or never, he thought. The German yanked the lever and sprang into action. Diana was ready to lift the barbell when suddenly the stage disappeared beneath her feet. Wonder Woman fell straight down through the stage. Seconds she landed. Her uncontrolled fall resulted in landing right on her back and bum. Diana was wondering what had happened when suddenly she was seized from behind. A white cloth appeared along with a hand as another arm wrapped around her waist. Together they clamped down with the rage going right on top of her face. Wonder Woman could smell something on the cloth and suddenly Diana felt strange as she inhaled. Her body became num and she couldn't seem to move. With a sickening realization Wonder Woman knew there was drug on the cloth and it was weakening her! It was unlike anything she had experienced. I can't move ... my strength is fading ... Hera help me fight it, she thought trying to summon the strength to fight back. The German agent couldn't believe it, Wonder Woman seemed completely subdued. He needed to act fast. Keeping the chloroform planted on the superheroine's face with one hand, he reached for the golden lasso on her belt with the other. Grabbing it he then wrapped around Wonder Woman. He couldn't properly restrain her so he settled for tying the lasso around her chest above Wonder Woman's red top. Once he was the lasso secure he ripped off her mask. Now it was time to see if this lasso worked on its owner. First he brought Wonder Woman in close. Her head ended up resting in the crook of his left arm against his chest. Pulling the chloroform cloth off her face, he made sure to keep it close as Wonder Woman gasped with its removal, "Now quick tell me, how do I make you helpless and take you prisoner?" Wonder Woman breathed heavily. She tried to suck in clean air and recover from the horrible chemical the Nazi had used on her. But the German was clever. Only a few inches from her face was the drug soaked rag. Its fumes were still there, being inhaled with each of her labored breaths. I'm so weak, can't stay awake, but I must answer his question. Diana could not only feel the golden lasso on her skin but its power as well. Not even her, a goddess in all but name could fight against its effect. Her eyes were half open struggling to stay that way. In between deep breaths she was forced to answer, " ... Remove ... my magic belt." "Is that the key to your strength?" he immediately followed up. Wonder Woman almost passed out before she answered, "Yes ... away, away from my home ... " she momentary closed her eyes exhausted but then finished, "on Para ... Paradise Island." She was so tried. The German agent took all this in and asked his final question, "Will this chloroform keep you unconscious?" He could tell she was finished. Wonder Woman's eyes were closed her breathing slowing. In fact he almost thought he could hear surrender in the heroine's voice as she spoke, knowing that she was helpless, "Yes ... " Wonder Woman managed to open her eyes briefly. The reward for her final answer was the gentle return of the cloth, soaked in what the Nazi had called chloroform. Diana breathed in more of the chloroform as it covered her mouth and nose again. Her eyes shut closed. The Princess could do nothing against this sinister substance as it forced her to sleep. Her body relaxed and sank deeper into the German's grip. The last thing she heard before completely passing out was, "Sleep peacefully Wonder Woman ... " ... ... ... ... ... . Parked close to the stage was their getaway car. A typical American Army staff car, it would allow Fausta and her men to escape without any unnecessary attention. Fausta controlled the urge to celebrate as Wonder Woman was hauled out from underneath the stage by her men. One held her upper body as the other had the superheroine's ankles. Carefully they began loading her into the car. "Make sure she stays out of sight." Fausta ordered. The agent who had chloroformed Wonder Woman under the stage approached Fausta. "Here Fraulein Grables, she said this was the source of her powers." He handed her the belt then the lasso. She held them amazed and delighted; now I will learn all your secrets Wonder Woman. Fausta's thoughts of power however were interrupted by a call, "Wonder Woman!" She turned and saw who was coming, Major Trevor, "Damn it, Muller stop him." The agent nodded and went to head off Trevor as Fausta climbed into the car. Sitting down she saw that Wonder Woman remained unbound. Leaning forward she wrapped the lasso around the heroine's wrists and bracelets. Then looking up she checked to see where Trevor was. Muller had stopped him. "Colonel I just wanted to say hi to Wonder Woman, she saved my bacon yesterday and I just wanted to thank her." Steve explained to the Colonel blocking his path. Muller continued to stall, "I'm sorry Major but you will have to do so later, Wonder Woman is late for another engagement." "I wasn't aware she was making another appearance." Steve responded. He took a close look at the Colonel, the man was nervous. Then he looked over at the car Wonder Woman had climbed into. There were several people inside, none he recognized from the Special Service that normally worked with Wonder Woman. Trevor was starting to think something was up, "Colonel where are you and Wonder Woman going? Plus I don't recognize any of you what happened to Colonel Henderson and Jeff Irons?" Muller knew the gig was up. Turning to the car he yelled, "GO!" and then slugged Trevor across the face. Fausta and her men didn't need to be told twice. With a roar from the engine the car shot away from the stage. Steve recovered quicker then Muller had expected and was easily able to duck his next punch. Trevor then used his duck and landed a blow of his own. A quick jab to the fake Colonel's gut slowed him, and then Steve followed up with a right hook. Muller went down like a ton of bricks. Steve reached down and lifted the man up. With a shove he had the fake colonel pinned against the stage, "Alright you're going to talk. What have you done with Wonder Woman?" "You're too late Trevor." Muller answered, speaking in his German accented voice now, "Wonder Woman is a prisoner of the Reich and there is nothing you can do about it." Steve dropped the man to the ground angry at the German and himself, damn it I should have seen through that charade. "Major Trevor!" he heard Etta coming. She had seen his conformation between him and the other officer. Thinking on her feet Etta got some MPs and led them over. Major Trevor explained the situation to them. Muller was taken away by the MPs leaving him and Etta alone. "What about Wonder Woman?" Etta asked concerned. Steve thought, "They will take somewhere secluded. Except they could possibly be anywhere in Washington, even if we had every police officer and MP in the capital looking it would take too long. Those Germans will be gone with Wonder Woman as quick as they can." Etta worried, "So what do we do." Trevor thought, we can't search the city fast enough in time, but maybe there is someone who can, "Etta we need to get back to the office. I have someone to call." Outside Washington D.C. that same day Wonder Woman was just as frustrated with herself as Steve had been. She had walked right into a Nazi trap and been captured. Now she was bound, the ultimate shame for an Amazon. There was little comfort in knowing that she hadn't been beaten in a stand up fight. I need to free myself but how? Diana wondered. Her captors had bound her with thick heavy black chains. They were wrapped around her boots, running up her pantyhosed legs to Diana's chest. The chains pinned her arms to her sides while a final length held her forearms close together in her lap, meeting at her bracelets. She had been left in a large well furnished study. Diana suspected she was in some sort of mansion. Wonder Woman vaguely remembered seeing the outside of the building as she was being hauled inside. However she was still recovering from the chloroform at that time so Diana couldn't be sure. Her thoughts returned to the present when a set of doors opened behind her. Wonder Woman resisted the temptation to turn her head and stare at her captors. They may have her but she would not let them think they had unnerved her. "Good afternoon Wonder Woman." Diana watched as a tall athletic blonde woman stepped into view. For a moment Wonder Woman was impressed by her. Without the ascent she might be mistaken for an Amazon, "I am Fausta Grables. You are now a my prisoner and one of the Third Reich." "You may have me at the moment Fausta, but I assure you, your thugs and bonds will not be able to hold me." Wonder Woman confidently replied. Fausta smiled, "Defiant just as I expected. You will find escape impossible Wonder Woman. No one knows where you are and you are without this." Diana watched with dismay as Fausta displayed her belt, "It was so kind of you to inform us of this belt. Now I want to learn more." The woman reached into the desk in front of Wonder Woman and removed the golden lasso, "I must say Wonder Woman this is the prefect weapon for an intelligence force. Once we recreate this lasso's ability in the Fatherland, there will be no where for the enemies of the Reich to hide." "That lasso was given to me to do good Fausta. If you were to use it to hunt down resistance fighters and 'undesirables' you would be twisting its purpose. I won't stand for it." Diana warned her. "An intriguing statement Wonder Woman. I'm wondering who did give you this lasso. I would like to discuss that." Fausta said. She walked over and wrapped the lasso around Wonder Woman. Once it was pulled tight she held onto the other end and asked, "Where are you from Wonder Woman?" Diana would try to resist but knew it was useless, she had to try though. Metropolis Linda was working on editing some paperwork for Perry White. He was an efficient newspaper organizer but his prose needed work. Can't look bad in front of the bosses, she thought. As she finished editing a document the phone rang. In one fluid motion she lifted the receiver answered the phone and filed the paper, "Daily Planet bullpen, how might I direct your call?" "I need to speak to Lois Lane immediately." The voice asked. A masculine voice with urgency behind his words Linda felt. She knew Lois was out working on a story. The famous reporter wouldn't be back for hours. Linda decided to see who it was, "Who may I ask is calling?" "Major Steve Trevor, United States Army." Her eyes opened a little wider at that. Steve Trevor is who Diana works for. What does he need to talk to Lois about? "Miss Lane is out at the moment. Perhaps I can help you Major?" Linda tried. Steve sighed and then said, "She writes all those stories about Supergirl, I was hoping that Miss Lane would have a way to contact her." He needs Supergirl, why? It has to be something about Diana, "Major I will pass your message on." "Please tell Miss Lane to hurry." He left a number and instructions for Lois to tell the Army operator when she called, to make sure she got Major Trevor. Linda wrote it down out of habit, but didn't need it. Don't worry Major, I'm on my way, Linda left her desk and went over to the Chief's office. One excuse later she was out the door, well out to the storage closet. Bystanders walking the streets saw Supergirl soaring through the sky, heading east. Outside of Washington D.C As the sun set Fausta was awed by Wonder Woman. Using the heroine's lasso to interrogate her, Fausta had learned tons of details about the Amazon and her home. A society of women living in secret, with incredible powers, and amazing tools, Fausta was considering the possibilities. If the Reich could attack this island it might give them an edge to win the war. Fausta had an evil smirk as she spoke, "Thank you Wonder Woman. Your information will be most useful for when we invade your homeland." Wonder Woman was furious but controlled herself, "Fausta didn't you listen to anything I said." Although she had been forced to tell the truth, she had tried to tell the German woman what they had accomplished. Diana had hoped to reach the woman inside Fausta maybe even convince her to free her. "Impressive Wonder Woman but I serve the Reich." Fausta responded, "Now let's discuss something different, Supergirl." Diana was taken by surprise, why did she want to talk about ... Then she realized, "You're not only after me but Supergirl as well." Fausta chuckled, "Very good Wonder Woman. Yes you and Supergirl will be taken back to Germany and thanks to your lasso I will learn everything I need to steal her and yours powers." "You may have been able to capture me, but you'll find Supergirl is not so easy to deal with." Wonder Woman confidently spoke. "Ah so it is true you are friends?" Fausta asked, still holding the lasso. Wonder Woman tried to hold her tongue but the power of the lasso compelled her to answer, "Yes Supergirl and me get along well." "So you know her, including anything I can use against her?" Fausta pressed. No, you fiend don't ask me that, Diana thought. She regretted Linda ever telling her the story, the night when she encountered a special meteorite, " ... Yes." Wonder Woman answered with gritted teeth. Fausta's eyes gleamed and she leaned forward, "Tell me what it is?" ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Trevor sat at his desk fuming. He wanted to be out there looking for Wonder Woman. It was late, hours having past since the rally. His superiors had decided to keep her kidnapping under wraps. No need to alarm the public they said; however it also met that the news was being kept away from the police. Only a select group of MPs were looking for her. Steve couldn't join them because he was still waiting for Lois Lane to return his call. He was about to try calling again when there was a gust of wind. Steve saw his window was open and someone had arrived in his office, "Major Trevor?" Standing in front of his desk was Supergirl in her very flattering costume. Steve was thankful he had been around Wonder Woman enough to have learned not to be distracted by such a lady. Getting up he went over and shook her hand, "Thank you for coming." "No problem, what has happened?" Linda asked the man. She regretted that it took her so long to get there. Steve explained everything staring with his kidnapping, the show with the two Wonder Women, and his fight with the Nazi agent. Supergirl listened in stunned silence, Diana kidnapped? How did they do it? She realized that didn't matter at the moment it was more important to start looking for her, "Did this man, Muller, tell you anything?" "Nothing useful, to be honest I don't think he can. It seems that he was never shown the actual hideout for this boss of his, Fausta Grables." Trevor explained. Linda took the name in, "Alright do you have any leads?" Steve took her to a map of the city, "We found the car they used here. It was abandoned and there was no one unusual in the surrounding buildings. This means they switched vehicles. Except for the car we have nothing, no witnesses, leads, and nothing on any Nazi spy-rings since Wonder Woman broke the last one up. Whoever Fausta is working with they hadn't shown their heads yet." Supergirl thought of something, based on where the car was the Nazis had done an awful lot of driving. They had to drive into the city, switch cars and had no time to take any fuel from the other car, which means ... "Major Trevor, an idea here. These Germans are using a lot of gas more then they should be able to get with rationing right?" "Of course." He answered. Steve then caught up to the rest of what Supergirl was thinking, "You think they got it on the black market." "Possibly, maybe whoever they bought it from delivers as well." Linda suggested. He smiled, "Find their supplier and we may find them. Let's get to work." Trevor called the military intelligence office. As he talked to people Linda looked out the window at the city. Night had come to Washington; however the beauty of the capital couldn't distract her from more depressing thoughts. Hang on Diana, we're coming as fast as we can. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Fausta waited in another office. She had to admit it was probably a foolish mission. In fact even though she had gotten the information from Wonder Woman under the power of her lasso, it still sounded too fanciful to believe. A rock that can harm Supergirl, impossible, Fausta thought. However the way Wonder Woman explained it seemed believable. If it was true all Fausta had to do was get Supergirl close to the meteorite, then all of the young woman's powers would be neutralized, making her vulnerable. She had placed enough faith in the tale to order a group of men to search a spot Wonder Woman suggested. An agent came in, "Fraulein they're back!" She went with the agent. Following him to the outside of the mansion, she saw the team's cars had some bullet holes in it. Angry Fausta looked for the man she put in charge, "What happened?" "There was no time for subtly Fausta." He explained, "When we saw that it was there we grabbed it and ran. There was a small gunfight with the American guards at the Smithsonian." Fausta saw a wounded man being led inside. She calmed her furry since it sounded like they had found what she needed. "Show me." She ordered. He led her to the trunk. Opening it he reached for a bag. After taking it out he showed the bag to Fausta. Holding it she rummaged inside and smiled. Her man asked, "Is that it?" Fausta pulled out the hand sized meteorite, it was warm to the touch and green, "Yes Hans this is it." I can complete my mission now, "Hans take this rock and do exactly as I say ... " ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Supergirl working with Steve and the Washington Police got several leads on black marketers. Comparing what the police knew with military intelligence, Linda picked a few of them who might have sold gasoline and other supplies to the Nazis. Then she visited each of them, personally. It was the same with each criminal she visited. Supergirl would come through, they would try and kill her with their guns, she would beat them up, and finally Linda got to the boss. All of them said they wouldn't talk of course that was till she had taken them about a thousand feet off the ground. The fear they had of her letting go was enough to loosen all their tongues. Her first five targets she had gone to had nothing. Number six finally proved to be the lucky one. He admitted to selling gas, guns, fake ration stickers to a group of men and one woman. The man had also been able to give her an address of where he had delivered the materials. With this information in hand, she flew back to the War Department. "I think we have them Steve." Supergirl informed him of everything she had learned. "Great I'll call the General and get a team ready to go." He reached for a phone. Just as he was going to pick it up though, Supergirl pushed the phone back down. "No, I can handle this." She said. Steve shook his head, "Supergirl I know your amazing, in some ways more powerful then Wonder Woman, but I need to help her. I owe her my life." "I understand Steve but I know Wonder Woman. She wouldn't want anyone else getting hurt for her. Except I don't get hurt." She explained, "Let me go. If you don't hear from me in hour though come with the cavalry." Steve hated it but shook his head after all there was still a chance they could be wrong, "Okay Supergirl we will do it your way. However one minute past an hour ... " Linda acknowledged, "I understand Major." Diana's lucky to have you as a boss and a friend Steve, "No worries I'll take care of this Fausta and her men." She headed for the window and opened it again. Trevor offered, "Good luck." Supergirl smiled and flew up into the sky. Outside of Washington D.C. Fausta was holding something as she came back into Wonder Woman's view. Diana knew that it must be related to Supergirl's weakness. After the interrogation she knew that Fausta might have the means to use it. From what Supergirl had explained to Wonder Woman the meteorite was rare. Diana unfortunately had decided to see if she could find any other examples of it. Now much to her regret she had succeeded and been forced to give that news to Fausta. Now it seemed that her hunch had been right, "Wonder Woman, I must say you have been of unparallel help to the Reich." "I would rather die then get any congratulations from your 'Reich'." Diana shot back. Fausta laughed, "I'm sorry Wonder Woman but your wish will remain that. You are much more useful alive. In fact if it wasn't for you I would have never found this." In her hands was a small green rock. Diana knew in it was the deadly meteorite that could hurt Linda. "Supergirl is no fool Fausta you think she'll simply let you get that close to her?" Wonder Woman tried to discourage the German woman from using it. "You let me worry about that Wonder Woman. In fact, she will never suspect I have it." Fausta was now standing in front of the bound superheroine. Diana had an uneasy feeling in her stomach, "Why is that?" Fausta dropped the rock. It was only the size of a small stone but now hung from a small chain, like a necklace. She then took the chain and slipped it around Wonder Woman's head and neck. Diana realized part of Fausta's plan, which the fraulein couldn't help but gloat over, "That's right Wonder Woman I won't have it you will." Then the blonde reached into a pocket on her skirt. "I think you remember this?" Fausta chuckled. Wonder Woman did, the chloroform cloth. Diana struggled for a moment in her bonds. With a laugh Fausta brought the chloroform down onto Wonder Woman's face, "Just breathe it in Wonder Woman, its much faster that way." Wonder Woman would do no such thing. She struggled to hold her breath but even her fantastic Amazon body needed to air. With sharp intake of breath Diana took in the chloroform. Since she didn't have her belt, the chemical worked even faster. Her cries into the rag were just muffled noises to Fausta who enjoyed knocking the heroine out. In just a few moments, Wonder Woman's eyes closed and she slumped into her chair. Fausta stood triumphant over her, now to prepare for Supergirl! ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Supergirl finally spotted the address, the hideout for Fausta and his men. It was a large red home, a mansion. No one seemed to be outside. Deciding she needed more information Supergirl switched to X-Ray vision. The walls of the mansion disappeared giving her a complete view of the place. She could see four to five men waiting in a dining room. Another was in one of the rooms upstairs. He appeared to be wounded. Supergirl saw the large garage was filled with vehicles. Two civilian cars one of which appeared shot up. An Army truck was also there. Checking the other parts of the mansion she was shocked by what she saw. "Wonder Woman!" Linda gasped. She could see her friend and fellow heroine bound and barely conscious. Chains were wrapped around her body, she was also missing her belt and lasso. So that's how they did it, Supergirl decided. Somehow the Nazis learned about the source of Diana's powers. Linda did a quick search with her X-ray vision and found both items in another room. The belt and lasso seemed to be laid out for study, not that you Nazi buttheads will get the chance! Inside the study with Wonder Woman was a woman. Tall and blonde she had to be this Fausta Grables that the German agent had told Steve about. She sat behind the desk that Diana faced, doing paperwork. It looked like she wasn't expecting trouble. She was wearing only a white blouse, black skirt, and nylons. There seemed to be nothing in the room that could stop Supergirl or hurt Wonder Woman. The Germans in the dining room were armed with only submachine guns and pistols. "It's time to put and end to this." Supergirl said to herself. With a dive she headed for the mansion. Unknown to Supergirl though she had been spotted. Hidden under leaves, grass, and most importantly a small lead sheet, an observation post had spotted her. Fausta had ordered them set up to warn if Supergirl was approaching. He reached for his stolen American walkie-talkie and called inside the house, "She comes!" ... ... ... ... ... . Fausta was sitting in her desk when the phone rang. Picking it up, she listened for the one word warning that Supergirl was coming. She hung up the phone and leaned back in her seat and took a deep breath. This time it was up to her to deal with the heroine and not one of her men. Suddenly the window next to her desk burst opened. A blur of blue and red entered the room and went to the double door entrance. Supergirl landed in front the entrance to the study. She crushed both door knobs, locking the room. Now Fausta's men wouldn't be able to get in, at least for a few minutes. Satisfied she turned back and faced Fausta. "Supergirl, you make quite an entrance." Fausta commented as she stood up from her chair. Linda walked over but not to Wonder Woman. Supergirl glanced at her friend and listened to her heart with super-hearing. Despite being drugged it appeared that Diana was fine. Fausta met Supergirl on the side of the desk near the open window. "Your finished Fausta, the Army will be here shortly." Supergirl informed her foe while standing in the classic stance, "I suggest you give up now." "Hardly Supergirl, if you knew anything about me you would know that I am an Olympic champion." She assumed a judo stance and grabbed Supergirl. However when Fausta tried to move Supergirl, the Girl of Steel didn't budge. Linda grabbed Fausta's arm and yanked her off her feet. Stumbling Fausta gripped Supergirl again. She still couldn't move Supergirl. The heroine chuckled, "Sorry Fausta you may be a star athlete, but I'm no ordinary woman." She tossed Fausta back over the desk. The German woman landed face first on the ground with a big ouf and grunt. With the Nazi taken care of, Supergirl headed over to Wonder Woman. Linda took Diana's face in her hands, "Wonder Woman, it's me Supergirl are you okay?" Wonder Woman sighed. She was trying to speak. Supergirl shook her head and said, "No just save your strength. I'm going to get you out of here ... and ... then ... " Supergirl started to feel strange. She was getting woozy and her stomach was upset. Looking at Diana she saw that there was a small chain around her neck, the back side of a necklace. Which meant the front of it was behind Wonder Woman's neck. Linda touched it but immediately pulled her hand away; it had hurt to touch it. Then Linda knew what was happening. She backed away from Wonder Woman, "No it can't be ... " "Oh but it is Supergirl." Supergirl turned completely around. Standing there holding a perfume bottle was Fausta. While the Girl of Steel had gone to check on her friend, Fausta had reached into a desk drawer. Hidden inside a small lead case, the perfume bottle held something much more dangerous then a beauty product. "I've been expecting you Supergirl and planned accordingly." With that Fausta sprayed the perfume bottle in Supergirl's face. A green burst of smoke left the bottle and flew over Linda's face where she breathed in the gas. Supergirl coughed and stumbled backwards. She fell to one of her knees as her strength began to fade. Fausta simply lowered the bottle and sprayed it again over the Girl of Steel but longer this time. The green cloud covered Supergirl's head for a few moments. She coughed every breath was bringing in more of the deadly gas into her system. Finally Linda couldn't take anymore of it. With a sigh she fell forwards landing onto her side knocked out cold. Fausta stood over her foe in triumph. Using her stocking covered foot she pushed Supergirl onto her back. There the Girl of Steel lay atop her red cape an arm stretched out above her head, while the other lay close to her side. One of her pantyhosed legs was tucked under the other. Fausta enjoyed the sight, your overconfidence worked in my favor Supergirl, now you're completely helpless! There was a bang as her men broke the locks and entered the study, "Fausta are you alright ... ." The man was rendered speechless by seeing Supergirl sleeping on the floor. "Yes Hans, just fine." Fausta was beaming with pride. She wanted and needed to gloat, "Give me the smelling salts." Hans handed her the smelly substance. Fausta then ordered him to get Supergirl's restraints. Going over to Wonder Woman, she waved the salt under the Amazon's nose. With a sharp intake of air Diana woke up. She thought that Supergirl had spoken to her a little ago while she was still woozy from the chloroform, then Diana saw her, "Supergirl! What have you done to her Fausta?" Fausta walked back to Supergirl who still slept, "Nothing permanent Wonder Woman. Your special jewelry played its part but my true 'Ace in the hole' as the Americans would say was this." She held the perfume bottle, "A new type of sleeping gas. It is an effective gift from the Reich however it needed some adjustment. The meteorite my men stole was not too large. So I had it broken down. One part into the necklace you wear, the other incorporated into the gas." Wonder Woman saw one of the German agents enter. He held the same black heavy chains that bound her. The agent was grunting as he placed them on the ground relieved to have the weight removed. He then reached for Supergirl and pulled her up slightly. Hans began wrapping the chains around Supergirl's upper body. "These chains are also a gift from home. Specially created for this mission, for you and Supergirl, they are treated in a special process. They are considered unbreakable even by elephants." Fausta explained to her prisoner. Diana ignored her, watching with despair as Supergirl was place into a chair like hers. It seemed that Fausta's men were taking no chances with Linda. Supergirl was even more heavily bound then her. Fausta came over and removed the necklace from Diana. Then she placed the meteorite around Supergirl's neck. Linda sighed as the deadly jewelry went over her head and then rested over the chains and the famous S symbol on her chest. "I hope that piece is small enough to only weaken Supergirl. It would be unfortunate if she were to expire before reaching Germany." Fausta finished. Wonder Woman looked at her with defiance, "You will never get away with Fausta." "I already have Wonder Woman. Now that I have Supergirl we will be leaving soon." Fausta walked away leaving the two superheroines bound and helpless in the room. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .. Steve was feeling anxious. It was getting close to forty-five minutes. Supergirl still hadn't come back. Nor had she called or sent any other sign that Wonder Woman and she were okay. Trevor was just about to call the MPs when his phone rang. Without thinking he answered, "Supergirl?" "No, this is Lois Lane." The voice on the other end said. "Miss Lane, I thought you had already gotten my message?" he replied puzzled as to why she was calling. "No I only found the note on my friend's desk now. What is this about? Why do you want to see Supergirl?" Lois inquired. Steve didn't know what to say. Lane was a reporter and in his view they were almost as much of an enemy as the Germans and Japanese. He didn't want to make Wonder Woman's capture public news. His paused spoke volumes to Lois. More then his words could before. "Listen Major. I'm not after a story here, Supergirl is a good friend. I'm just worried about sending her to see you without knowing why." Lois responded. "Okay, but Miss Lane this information is for your ears only." Steve said. He then explained why he needed Supergirl and added, "But she had already arrived. In fact she might be getting Wonder Woman as we speak." "I see it's strange that Linda didn't past that message on to me. I wonder how she got a hold of Supergirl, never mind, when are you expecting to hear from her?" Lois asked. "I should have heard something already, I'm getting worried." Lois chucked, "Don't worry Major, Supergirl is tougher then one of your battleships. She should be able to handle some Nazis." "That's what I thought about Wonder Woman. Is it possible they've captured her too?" Steve inquired. Lois was about to say no when she remembered, the meteorite. No way the Nazis can know about that, could they? She heard Trevor ask, "Lois please tell me the answer is no." For a minute the reporter thought hard about saying anything, Supergirl trusted me enough to not even ask that I don't print anything about the meteorite after that thing with Luthor. So can I tell Trevor, can I trust him? Lois remembered though that the Major had been thinking the same thing minutes earlier, and had told her the truth. Okay here goes nothing, "Major what I'm about to tell you cannot leave your ears. I mean it you can't tell your staff or superiors. I hate to say it but the Army isn't the best at keeping secrets." "Alright what is it?" he listened for a few minutes, "Your kidding." Lois's sharp tongue on the other end of the line however made it clear she wasn't. Steve sighed, "Okay I believe you. If that's true then Supergirl might be walking into a trap as well." "What are you going to do?" Lois demanded. Trevor thought for a moment then answered, "Something stupid." Outside Washington D.C. The 'something stupid' he had mentioned to Lois involved going to the Nazi hideout by himself. Wearing black and carrying only a side-arm, Steve planned on sneaking into the place and freeing the heroines. Then if all went to plan they would be able to take care of the Germans. Of course that was only if he got in there in the first place. Men were walking the perimeter of the mansion. Armed with German submachine guns and keeping a keen eye on their surroundings. Steve had decided to go with his one man raid since he had promised Lois to keep news of Supergirl's weakness under wraps. He was no fool however. If he wasn't there when Etta showed up for work in just a few hours, the note on his desk would send in the troops. Except you might not have that much time Steve, he thought. It was clear the Germans were getting ready to leave. Trevor could see how. A stolen truck from the Army, with the right fake papers they could probably make it to the coast easily. Then link up with a U-boat. He had to hurry. Over the next few minutes he sneaked his way forwards. Hiding behind a large tree he could see an approaching German. Waiting for the guard to come up he readied his pistol. As the guard walked close he stepped around the trunk to the opposite side of the tree. Grabbing the barrel of his gun, Trevor used the grip to whack the German right in the head. With a grunt the man went down and collapsed onto the grass. Checking his target Steve saw he was out cold. Before anyone could spot them he dragged the German to a secluded spot. Then Trevor stole his gun, coat, and hat. Now from a distance he appeared as one of the enemy. Walking along the same path as the man he knocked out, Trevor looked at the house. He tried to see if there was any sign of the superheroines. After walking all the way to the back of the mansion Steve found them. Supergirl and Wonder Woman were bound to chairs in a study on the first floor. Now how do I get inside, he wondered. There was an increased guard presence around the women. Two Germans were making random sweeps of the area. Steve though was able to get right up to the house. Except he couldn't climb inside without drawing the attention of the two guards, they needed to be taken out. ... ... . ... ... ... ... Wonder Woman struggled against her chains. She still hadn't found a way out of her bonds. The black metal was unbreakable, unless she could regain her strength. Diana looked over at Supergirl. Linda was partly awake but still suffering from the effects of the meteorite necklace and the gas. She had never seen the Girl of Steel in such bad shape. "I'm sorry Supergirl, I can't get anywhere with these chains." Diana reported. Linda sighed, "Its okay ... Diana, my own ... fault getting ... captured." "No I told them about that rock. If I could just get free I could take on these thugs even without my powers." Wonder Woman declared. "I hope so." A voice whispered. Diana turned to the window, where the new voice had come from, "Steve." Trevor climbed in and went over to the two superheroines. He immediately went for the necklace on Supergirl, "Here Supergirl let me get rid of this." Steve took the necklace off then tossed it out the window. Lois had told him to use lead but he wasn't going to waste time looking for it. Supergirl became more coherent but still looked pale, "Thank you Major." "How do you feel Supergirl?" Wonder Woman asked. Linda pulled on the chains that held her but then began coughing. She realized the gas was still affecting her, "Sorry still not quite back to normal yet." "Steve, check the room for the keys to these chains." Diana ordered. Trevor smiled; he held up a ring of keys, "You mean these?" He began undoing the locks that held Wonder Woman's chains in place. Diana was impressed as he pulled the metal off her, "Where did you get those?" "The two guys I bashed over the head outside. We need to hurry now, cause they have probably been missed." He said taking the last of the chains off Wonder Woman. With the bonds removed, Diana stood for the first time in hours. It felt so good. She worked out some kinks in her muscles and then turned to Steve, "Stay with Supergirl, get her free and out of sight." Linda asked, "Where ... are you going?" Wonder Woman smiled, "To get my belt back." ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .. Hans was packing up the last of the materials they needed to bring back to Germany. Most of it was intelligence reports. However the last two items to be loaded into boxes were the most important. Wonder Woman's belt and lasso. Fausta had given them a look over and even tried on the belt, trying to use its power. She had failed to summon it but Hans was sure detailed study by the scientists in Germany would yield results. "I believe you have something that is mine." Hans turned and saw Wonder Woman standing there! "How did you escape, impossible?" "Nothing is impossible when applied to me. Now will you give me my property or do we have to do this the difficult way?" she asked. Hans just charged at her. He didn't consider her a threat, after all without her precious belt she was a mere mortal and a woman at that. What Hans didn't know was the rigorous training each Amazon was put through in hand to hand combat. Diana simply grabbed him and used his momentum against him. Hans went into a wall. Although without her goddess like strength, the blow did not knock him out. The German turned back and tried to go after her again. Wonder Woman spun and kicked him across the face, then followed with a snap kick to his chest. Staggered by the rapid blows Hans couldn't stop Diana's final move. She delivered a sharp quick punch to his head. The blow instantly rendered him unconscious. Hans hit the floor like a sack of potatoes. Diana was about to reach for her belt when she heard a click. "Don't move Wonder Woman." Fausta stood in the doorway holding a Lugar. "It's over Fausta." Wonder Woman tried. "Hardly, you are still without your belt, plus one whiff of my gas and Supergirl will be weak as a kitten again. Surrender and I won't have you drugged on your trip to Germany." The blonde replied still holding her pistol. "If you were a real champion Fausta, you wouldn't need that weapon to beat me." Wonder Woman decided to go with a different route; if you used my competitive spirit against me Fausta I can do the same to you. Diana watched as Fausta thought it over. "A fair fight eh?" "Yes just as we would at my home, no weapons, and in my case no powers." Diana stepped away from her belt and lasso. "Agreed Wonder Woman." Fausta backed away from the door. Wonder Woman followed her out. They were in a large empty room perfect for their contest. Fausta placed her handgun on a table on the other side of the room. Diana picked her corner while Fausta chose her own. One of the Nazi's last acts before the fight was to kick off her shoes. She now stood in her stocking feet. Diana noted that the nylons were same that Fausta had wore with her fake costume. The blonde had left them on since the rally. Fausta rolled her sleeves up, "Ready?" "Yes." Wonder Woman replied. They moved in. Carefully each woman circled the other then they moved in and locked arms. A test of strength began. Fausta was an Olympic caliber athlete as she had boasted to Diana before. She could feel that strength in the woman's grip. Wonder Woman's was strong as well but it wasn't enough today. Diana had spent all day bound and had been chloroformed hours earlier. As a result Fausta began to win the strength contest, pushing Wonder Woman down. Sending Wonder Woman to her knees Fausta laughed and then kneed the Amazon Princess in the stomach. Diana grunted and doubled over her gut. Fausta used the opportunity to release Wonder Woman's arms and then wrap her own around the heroine's head. Now she had her trapped in a head lock. Diana struggled trying to free herself. Fausta laughed, "You're not going anywhere!" Wonder Woman focused and remembered her wrestling/close quarter fight training. With her head angled down she could see Fausta's stocking feet and her boot covered feet. It was an easy decision on what to do next. Diana brought one of her boots down onto Fausta's foot. The blonde screeched and loosened the hold enough for Wonder Woman to escape then seize hold of Fausta in a face to face bear-hug. Fausta grunted as Wonder Woman squeezed; she is strong even without her powers. She grabbed Wonder Woman's arms and tried to remove them from her waist. The superheroine's grip was too secure to easily disable. With a gasp Fausta realized she was losing. Diana saw that and increased the pressure of her hold. Fausta knew she needed to break this hold and fast. She took her hand formed a chop and brought it down on Wonder Woman's neck. It was now the Amazon's turn to be stunned. The move from the Far East took the bite out of her hold and stunned her. Fausta went for Diana's arms and finally broke free. She decided to press her advantage and lashed out with a kick. The blow knocked Wonder Woman back. While the heroine was still stumbling, Fausta followed this up with a running tackle. Both women fell to ground and began grappling. Fausta hoped the experiences of the day were taking their toll on Wonder Woman. Forcing her to grapple and roll around on the ground would further drain her. Regrettably for Diana, the fraulein's strategy was working. I can't do this for much longer, have to end this fight now, or become her prisoner again! ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Steve had laid Supergirl down behind the desk. She seemed to be recovering. Trevor was worried because there was still no sign of Wonder Woman. She should be back by now, he thought. Checking his pistol Steve was about to tell Supergirl he was going to check on Wonder Woman when he heard the doors open. Looking up he hoped for Wonder Woman to be standing there. What he got was a series of gunshots. Trevor managed to duck just in time. The Germans firing their SMGs kept up a steady spray of bullets eating into the wall. This forced Steve to keep his head down. Before he could even look above the desk again they were there. Two Nazis were standing on either side of the desk, their gun barrels still smoking. "Don't shoot." Steve tried. The Germans just smiled. They raised their weapons again. Steve was prepared to cover Supergirl with his body when one of the Germans cried out in pain. His gun had turned bright red and smoked from heat. Dropping it he cursed in his native tongue. Then he realized what happened. Supergirl stood up and looked at the other German. He re-aimed his gun at her. This time Supergirl went for wind instead of fire. Plucking her lips she blew out a blast of compressed air. The air knocked the German back and slammed him into the wall, knocking him out. The other Nazi ran for the door only to have Supergirl move at lighting speed in front of him. He bounced off her body and onto the ground. Linda now fully recovered from the gas used a kick to knock the man out with a single blow. "I guess your feeling better." Steve said standing up. "Yep, I'm going to deal with the ones outside before they get away." she explained. Supergirl headed for the window. Trevor called out, "Wait what about Wonder Woman?" Supergirl looked away from him. Using her X-Rays she saw the battle between Diana and Fausta. Linda then looked back to Steve, "She has everything well in hand." With that she flew out the window. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .. Wonder Woman might have disagreed with Supergirl's evaluation of the situation. Her struggle with Fausta on the floor had not gone well. The former Olympian managed to get behind Diana and wrap her arms around Wonder Woman's neck. She squeezed cutting off the blood going to Diana's head. Already she was feeling woozy, if Fausta kept it up she would knock Wonder Woman out. "This is what we call a sleeper hold Wonder Woman. It's useless to fight it, just give in." Fausta taunted the fading heroine. Gripping Fausta's arms Wonder Woman tried to remove them but couldn't. She was losing. No I will not be beaten again, Hera, give me strength, Diana prayed. Fausta on the other hand was sure she had beaten the Amazon once again. I over estimated you Wonder Woman, without your powers you are no match for a real woman! I'll show you once I have your powers and Supergirl's what a real Superwoman is like! Wonder Woman wasn't giving in though. Summoning up her strength she stood up, lifting Fausta off the ground. The blonde struggled for a minute but regained her footing, "Nice try Wonder Woman but I still have you." "Not ... for ... long ... " Diana answered. She threw herself forward into a roll. Fausta didn't expect that. Hitting the ground on her head and upper body she released Wonder Woman and lay stunned on the floor for a moment trying to recover. The heroine wasted no time. Dropping to the floor, Wonder Woman took Fausta's head and placed it between her thighs, then with all her remaining strength squeezed. Fausta gasped as her own blood and air supply to her brain was cut off. She reached for Wonder Woman's thighs. Except she couldn't get a good grip on Wonder Woman's nylon encased legs. It was now Fausta's turn to start feeling light headed. Diana kept the woman trapped in the head scissors ignoring her efforts to break free. I haven't come this far ... to ... fail ... no ... , Fausta thought as her strength faded. Her hands dropped away from Wonder Woman's legs. Diana saw the woman's eyes fluttering. With a final sigh Fausta slipped into unconscious. Not taking any chances she made sure to keep the hold for a few more moments. Satisfied that Fausta was fast asleep Wonder Woman got up. Taking some deep breaths she began to recover from the exhausting match. "Good job." Wonder Woman turned to see Supergirl standing there a smile on her face. Diana nodded, "Thanks you feel alright?" "Never better, I took care of her men. Steve has called the authorities." Supergirl explained. The two heroines looked down at their sleeping foe. "What do we do with her? She knows a lot of stuff we would want to be kept private." Linda pointed out. Diana thought for a moment, "I have an idea." ... ... ... ... ... .. Fausta woke up inside the study she had held Wonder Woman and Supergirl in. She was shocked to discover that she had been bound. In fact she saw they were the chains that had been meant for the two heroines. Both stood in front of her, "You may have me but this is not over." "Your men are in custody and on their way to POW camps. Then you're going to prison as well." Supergirl explained. The blonde agent sneered back, "Even if I go to prison, I'll share all your secrets with the prisoners. Soon everyone will know your weaknesses. You escaped me but I doubt you two will be so lucky in the future. The Reich will defeat you." Wonder Woman had her belt and lasso back. The Amazon wrapped the lasso once around Fausta. After making sure it was tight she said, "They will not, and not with what you know." She was confused, what in the devil is Wonder Woman talking about. "Fausta under the power of my lasso you will forget all you learned about Supergirl and me. All your knowledge will disappear as you sleep. You will awaken in two hours, now sleep." Wonder Woman commanded. "NO ... ." was all Fausta got out as she was forced to sleep. In seconds her eyes closed and she slumped against her chains. Already the things she had learned about the two heroines were fading away. "That's a useful trick." Linda commented as Diana wrapped up her lasso. Diana sighed, "Yes but removing memories can be dangerous. The human mind is a fragile place. I try not to make a habit of it." She put the lasso on her belt again. With that done she went over and hugged Supergirl, "Thank you Linda." "No problem that's what friends are for, especially in our line of work." Supergirl replied. Then she saw it was almost dawn, "Uh oh ... " Wonder Woman got on edge expecting trouble, "What is it?" Linda sighed, "I need to be at work in two hours, the Chief hates it when I'm late." Then she eyed Diana's lasso, "Hey don't think I could borrow that ... " Wonder Woman shook her head, "No Linda you cannot use the lasso to make your boss forget that you were late." Diana took Fausta and lifted her over a shoulder. All the while, listening to Supergirl beg and plead for permission to borrow the lasso. "Come on Diana, it will be this one time I swear!" the Girl of Steel tried as they walked out.
