Captain Savage: The Fortress pt.4 The strong-arm man steps aside dissatisfied after his extensive, but abortive palpitation against the chained woman. He rubs his knuckles as Sergeant Harris moves away from the stove. The massive man draws himself up to his full height in front of Jane. The red-hot poker in his hands illuminates his bearded face demonically. He looks at Janes bare chest in pleasant anticipation. Her athletic body already shows the marks of the former beating and some scars from her fights, but tonight he would impress his personal seal on her soft skin. Lieutenant Basington slowly walks beside his captive. She can feel his breath at her ear as he starts to talk to her softly. “Before you decide to carry on with your silence I would like to give you a word of advice. Sergeant Harris here has never failed to make someone talk. He is very persuading and he really enjoys performing his labour. You have been very brave so far, extraordinarily indeed. But this fine sergeant of the Kings own glorious army broke the will – and most of the bodies –…“ The soldiers around chuckle grimly amused about the phrase. “…of uncounted prisoners. Tough men, strong in body and deeds, full of faith in themselves, finally told him everything he wanted to know. Often enough they even told him more than that, just to stop the punishment. When he was through with them, everything that remained of their former strength had turned into wretched sobs and weeps. Some of the men had even gone utterly insane. And YOU are just a woman…” Jane turns her head towards him and lifts a corner of her mouth. “Whatever he may do to me cannot be worse than your pathetic drivel.” He steps back, angry about Janes verbal slander in front of his subordinates. “We will see.” He hisses between his teeth. With a small gesture he beckons the sergeant to start. Sally turns up at the cell the very moment Harris receives his order. With a quick glance around the doorpost she registers the whole scenery. Jane is hanging in chains from the wall on the other side of the cell, bare-breasted and bruised with black and blue marks, but her face is still showing pride and self-confidence. Regardless of her spouse being snookered Sally feels a warm wave of relief and desire. Two soldiers are standing next to the door. One of them has taken off his coat. The other one is just giving it back to him together with his dropped weaponry. A bearlike man stands between them and Jane, holding an incandescent poker in his hand. Beside the giant there is one last man standing. His powdered wig and priggish attitude are out of place in this miserable torture chamber, but Sally had seen officers like him in places like that before. Behind their fancy uniforms and stiff upper lips usually a colossal pervert lurked. She clenches her fist in anger. This time she would put the fear of god into their black hearts. Full of grim intransigence she storms the cell right away. Janes eyes are the only ones directed towards the door, making her first to notice the sudden motion. Sensing her beloved pirate charging into the cell like the angel of death she feels like within a feverish dream. Sally looks striking and irresistible, at the same time completely unreal. The next moment Jane perfectly grasps she is not just dreaming. Sallys furious battle-cry curdles the soldiers blood as she jumps through the air like a tigress. A fierce high-kick takes the shirt-sleeved man off his feet. He smashes hard against the wall. Before Sally even has solid ground beneath her feet her sabre splits the chest of the second soldier. Both guns are falling from his hands, clattering on the floor. Blood stains his white shirt and waistcoat. He breaks down with a look of surprise on his face. “Hang in there, luv! Ill get you out of here!” Sally calls out to Jane as she swings her blade forcing Harris to block it with his poker. Although watching her valiantly fighting saviour Jane notices Lieutenant Basington cowardly reaching for his pistol. She knows that it does not matter if he kills Sally with his only shot. The thick and massive walls of the dungeon absorb most of the sounds coming from its cells, but a gunshot would alarm the whole garrison. Before the officer can cock his pistol Jane collects her strength for the only chance she has. Flashing into action she lifts up her legs entwining the chain between her ankles around Basingtons neck. Unbalanced as she violently yanks him back he drops the weapon to the ground. Down on the floor it sticks close to his tricorn. All of a sudden he cannot breathe anymore. He tries to break the hold, but his desperate measures only increase the pressure on his throat. Losing his voice he helplessly tries to call Harris for help, but the Sergeant has to defend himself from Sallys attacks over and over again. The coarse man shows an unexpected agility, but on and off the pirate breaks through his defence with a kick or a punch. Sally steadily pushes him backwards, still without dealing the fatal blow. Meanwhile Basingtons face is distorted in agony. He does not dare to take away his hands from Janes legs to grab his sabre instead. Nevertheless he feels his strength leaving more and more. “Do you remember what I promised you, Lieutenant?” Jane spits the words into his face with a grim smile. He looks at her with wide eyes. She can see the fear within as Basington slowly realises that he is going to die in this dirty chamber tonight. Nothing of his arrogance is left at once. Sallys foot darts against Sergeant Harris breast once more. Another man would have been thunderstruck. The blow shakes him again, pushing him further back, however this time he counters the attack immediately. With a heavy hit he slaps the sabre out of Sallys hand. He growls triumphantly as he attacks again. The disarmed pirate barely escapes being killed as she quickly draws aside. When the poker aims for her again she nimbly rolls over the floor. Harris weapon throws out sparks as it hits the place where Sally has been a moment before. She kicks at his knees, hitting him hard and knocking him off balance. The poker falls to the floor while he tries to steady himself. Sally reaches for the red-hot iron and scrambles to her feet. Harris turns to face her. His giant hand reaches for his sabre. This time he is too slow. With a scream Sally drives the poker through his left eye into his brain. An ugly sizzle rings out as he freezes within his last motion. The stench of burnt flesh fills the room as he falls to the floor. With a sigh of relief Sally releases the bunch of keys from his belt. Jane observes Basingtons face turns from red to blue to purple. His tongue protrudes hideously from his mouth. Jane squeezes his throat with all her power. Her arms hurt, blood drips from her wrists, but relentlessly she chokes the life out of her tormentor. His legs jerk for one last moment and then are still. The pirate captain maintains her deadly grip on his throat until she is convinced that he is dead. Panting heavily she eases off in her chains. Basingtons distorted face – mercifully covered by his shifted wig – is lying right between her bare feet. Just as Jane turns to Sally taking the keys she notices one of the soldiers moving. The man who whacked her is standing up again. Blood flows from a gaping crack at his brow. Covertly he has taken one of the muskets lying close to him during the fight. Now he charges from behind, his bayonet aimed for Sallys back. “WATCH OUT!” Jane screams out just in time to warn her lover. Losing hold of the keys Sally turns around. Out of an unbelievable reflex she avoids the perfidious hit and grabs the gun with both hands. Using his own speed against the soldier she lifts her foot against his belly and throws him over. As he heavily blazes down on the floor she already gets up on her feet. His gun in hand the pirate pushes her foot hard into his face. “Curse you!” She cries out as she finishes the soldier with his own bayonet. The pirates look at each other light-hearted. “I cant believe that you are here!” Jane says honestly as her lover picks up the keys again. “There must be a couple hundred redcoats inside this fortress.” “Might be a few less now.” Sally smiles as she opens the chain locks. Shaking off the shackles the women embrace each other like they never let go again. They are both covered in sweat, their wet skin reflecting the lights. Sally feels the warmth of Janes bare breasts through the fabric of her vest. They feel the hot breath of each other on their faces. Deeply grateful Jane looks into her liberators eyes. “How can I thank you, luv?” Full of desire Jane searches for Sallys mouth. Unhesitating the blonde parts her soft, warm lips. Their tongues meet in a long and passionate kiss. It feels so good to be together again! For a moment it does not matter to them being still down inside this dungeon, surrounded by slain enemies. They take their time before breaking the embrace. Yet they both know they first have to escape out of the fortress before they are safe…
