True Love As Derrick sat in the bar, he thought about how he got here. Losing his internship at major company in the hardware business due to lay offs, he took his last check, paid his bills, and decided to take his last $20 and down it at this dive with its $1 beers. He felt lower than dirt at this point. As he was about to drown his sorrows, a woman in a nice sweater came to the bar. She was a regular and her name was Lucy. Derrick turned and looked at her. The young man wanted to approach her, but was so depressed that his courage failed him. To top it all off, he wasn't a looker anyway, at least to him. At 5'8 165, he was a total stick for a 21 year old white guy. Lucy, on the other hand was anything but, being a strong 5'10 200 lbs and 36DD-26-26 of solid Asian muscle beauty. Her doctor said she was going to grow 2 more inches to top at 6' soon, so she was still filling out at 19. Derrick couldn't believe that she sat next to him. He felt that he wasn't worthy of her beauty in his presence. She smiled at him as he paid for his drink. After 5 beers, Derrick was cut off by a strong, yet gentle hand. Lucy looked at the bartender and said, "That's enough for this guy." Derrick started to become irate with his language. He said to Lucy, "Look little miss prim and proper, go save someone else!" As he began to curse, he puked. Lucy chuckled and called a cab on her phone. She tried to grab Derrick and point him in the direction of the men's bathroom door, but he fought her. After a few minutes, she pulled him in and took him to the nearest toilet, where for an hour he puked and cursed, not in that order though. The young man then passed out on the bathroom floor into a drunken haze. After checking his vital signs, Lucy heard him breathing. She then picked him up in a cradle carry. "No wonder I was able to push him. He's light," she said to herself. The young woman then hoisted Derrick over her shoulder and left the bar. Once in the cab, she said her address and paid the cab. Lucy then had to carry Derrick into her apartment. Once inside, she laid him on the couch and then undressed for bed. When Derrick awoke, he felt miserable. Lucy said, "Good morning Derrick." He jumped up and looked around. "What happened last night?" he asked in a concerned manner. "You got wasted. So I took you to my place. You can go home if you want." Lucy said this calmly, yet with a smile. He said, "Wait, how did I get from the bar to the cab and from the cab to your couch?" Lucy asked him: "Do you really want to know?" Derrick gave her a look that said "Duh". The young lady then stood up and flexed, making a 20" ball in each arm. Derrick immediately backed away towards the door, while apologizing for his irrational behavior. "Look?uh?um?no hard feelings uh??" "The name is Lucy and you insulted me last night." As she said all this she walked towards him with a look that could kill. "I don't usually get that drunk, or that racy for that matter. I just went through something terrible and I just wanted it to go away that's all." Derrick said this with the utmost honesty and fear. Lucy then approached him at the door with that look still in her eyes and said: "You also wanted to do this right?" She had found some meds that dropped out of his pocket. The young man then stared at the bottle as Lucy spoke. "These can kill you instantly. Ask yourself, no matter what happened yesterday, is it worth it?" Derrick then felt rage inside of him boil over. "YOU CONDESENDING, NOSY LITTLE PRICK! YOU ACT LIKE YOUR PERFECT AND I DON'T DESERVE TO BE NEAR YOU! MAYBE YOU'RE RIGHT!" Derrick took his things and turned to leave as Lucy stood their stunned and surprised by his reaction to her words. When he got home, he found an eviction notice taped to his door. Derrick called his landlord and said that it was a mix up since he gave him the money already. The landlord reminded him: "The rent increased last week, remember?" The young man screamed, "Aw come on man, I gave you $350 and you increased it? How much? " Derrick said this with anger in his voice as the landlord wrote the amount. The landlord then handed him the paper with the amount. The young man was so livid, he was near tears. "You want 450 now? I don't have 100 dollars man. You know what, I'll just pack and go." The landlord jogged to him and said: "You were my best tenant, but in order to make the owners happy, I had to do it." Derrick turned to his apartment and surprisingly, found it open already. "I thought you would make this decision. I'll help you if you need it," his landlord said. The two of them packed Derrick's stuff and he said his thanks and left. Once inside his own apartment, the landlord and his wife heard Derrick sob so hard, they couldn't help but cry themselves. Lucy just wanted to apologize, but didn't know where Derrick was or what he was doing. Then she heard a cringing sound that made her want to scream, yet as she got closer, she could hear sobbing. Then the young woman saw him and cautiously approached him. When he saw her, Derrick asked her to, "Go away, please." She knew she had to make things right between them, so she stayed. "Fine, then I'll go." As he left, Lucy stepped to the side and let him in his truck. "Let me talk and apologize and you'll ever see me again." When Derrick heard this, he stopped the ignition and looked at her. "I was wrong in how I approached the situation, and I'm sorry. I saw that you were wasting away as a person and I wanted to help." The young man then opened the passenger door to let Lucy in. "You're lucky that you're cute," he said. As they rode, he explained his current situation in detail. After an hour, Derrick yawned, and then said to Lucy, "You starving?" They stopped at a local hotel and restaurant combo, ordering a two bedroom and some cheeseburgers and lemonade-iced tea. Then they both plopped on their respective beds and slept long and hard. For Derrick, it was sweet and long overdue. The next morning, they ordered steak and eggs with orange juice. "I don't know how to say thank you for letting me vent for hours on end last night," Derrick said. "You could love me." The statement from Lucy took him by surprise. "Wow?let's just be friends for awhile ok?" Lucy smiled at his statement. After they (well mostly Lucy) packing everything in the truck, they drove back. After two hours, Derrick was pooped, so she gently, but firmly took the wheel, pulled over and turned off the engine. Then she got out and opened the driver's side door. The young woman then unbuckled the sleepy occupant, grabbed him gently around the waist and picked him up out of the seat and laid him down in the back of the truck. "You got to eat some Derrick. This is getting too easy." She said this jokingly, of course because she loved everything about him. She then climbed into the truck and drove to her apartment. Once she was there, she took Derrick's stuff out. Then she carried him to the couch and laid him there. They slept like babies. The next morning, Derrick awoke to find his stuff and him in a room. He went to the bathroom and knocked. "Be out in a minute." Lucy had heard his footsteps as he walked to the door. When she opened the door, the young man was awe struck at what he saw. She was fully clothed yet still strikingly beautiful. She had her annual physical exam today, which was her birthday. He went to do his business and clean up, shower included. "I'm so happy! Today I'm 20," she said. Derrick said his happy birthday greetings and went to the store. When he came back, Lucy asked him if she looked taller, to which he replied yes. This caused her to smile, and when she went to the doctor's office it was confirmed that she grew two inches. "So, how tall are you now Lucy?" Derrick asked this for fear and curiosity sake. She replied: "I'm now 6' tall and 220 lbs of beautiful muscle. I've stopped growing in height, so this is it for my growth spurt." As she said this, the young man backed away from her and turned to run. Lucy yelled, "Your stuff!" "Send it to my post office," he replied. She then asked him if they could talk, to which he replied with a hesitant nod. The young woman then asked him if he liked her, to which he replied with another nod of approval. "Then why won't you let me love you, take care of you and make you happy?" She asked this with a straight face and calm demeanor. "You say that now, but if I say yes, you'll become an ultra-feminist and try to control me," Derrick said. Lucy responded with a look of disappointment, and then she walked away. "This is all so sudden for me. I mean I've never had a girl care about me. To top it off, I've been through so much in the last couple of days that my head's swimming." He said this with the hope that she would understand his jumbled mess of a life right now. Lucy heard him and responded: "I get that it's rough right now and I want to help you through it, but I can't if you won't let me try!" After the fighting had ended, they each went to their respective rooms and thought about what the other had said. He couldn't believe it. Things had gone from bad, to worse. Derrick packed all his things and left Lucy's place with his 15 bucks, but no where to go. On top of that, he received a letter stating that he still owed the $100 in rent from last month. Then things started to turn for him. The young man called his old land lord, who upon hearing of the situation wrote a check in Derrick's name to the owners. "Just come and sign the check kid," he said. Derrick drove to the complex and signed the check which paid the debt. Now he began his search for a job, which was unfruitful for a couple of days, but he found something steady in his old company's rival. "Why that company laid people off I'll never know," his boss told him. The next thing was a place to sleep and eat. Thanks to his boss, he found one in a good spot 30 miles from his job. Derrick paid the $450 rent, which included free access to the laundry units. Now he could hold his head up and know that everything was good. As he lay in his bed, he heard a knock at the door. Turning his clock, he saw the time read 8pm. "Who could this be?" he mumbled. It was Lucy, who was dressed casual and covered. "Yes, can I help you?" the young man said with a mix of astonishment and annoyance. She stood at the door and motioned to be let in, to which he obliged. "You left some things at my place, so I'm dropping them off" she replied in rudeness. "Anything else?" he replied. "Nope" the young lady said. Lucy then said: "Once I leave, I'm gone from your life forever Derrick." "Why the harsh coldness, if I may ask?" he said. "I'm tired of playing games that's all. You either love me or you don't." This hit a nerve with Derrick, but he simmered down. "I don't know much about you and I needed to straighten some things out first, which I'm sure you'll understand." Lucy turned to him and said: "I like you because you're interesting and smart, as well as tough. You didn't fall for my advances and you showed me it takes patience to build a relationship. I won't 'break' you or try to change you in any way. I promise." He still did not want to admit that he loved her, but it was getting easier for him. "Please let me prove my love for you. I want a shot at making you happy." Once she said this, Derrick thought about it and agreed they could date on one condition: no controlling of the relationship for either side. Whatever decision one person makes, the other must respect unless it causes physical or financial harm to the other person. Lucy agreed to this and sealed it with a kiss. For once everything was going right in Derrick's life. He had a hot and muscular girlfriend, with his own place and a steady job. 6 months ago, he wouldn't have had this luck. As usual, he came home from work tired and hungry, so he grabbed a sandwich and a drink at the deli and went home. Lucy called him to check on him as always, which he now didn't mind at all. Sometimes they would stop by the other person's place and chat or eat. This went on for another 6 months until Lucy finally came over and asked him what the next move was in their relationship. She suggested a spiritual counselor. Derrick thought about it and agreed they should give it a shot. Soon, they were in the parking lot of the nearest church to both their places. The pastor was in her study pouring over Scripture, when she heard a knock. She got up and opened the door to let the young couple in and smiled when they stepped in. "I don't usually get too many visitors to the church during this time. Is there a problem I can help you two with?" At that point, the young couple opened up to her about their concerns and issues involved in their relationship. After 4 hours, with a half hour lunch included, the young couple got up to leave when the pastor gave them her card. Reformed and Delivered was the church name and Stephanie Andrews was the pastor. On the back of the card was the service dates and times. The two love birds then went their separate ways, as they were instructed by Pastor Andrews. "If you are meant to be, let it come. Don't force it," she said. As they each drove away, they knew they would see each other again. It was only a matter of time, but just had to wait for the right moment. The only question was: Did they have the patience to wait? Derrick stepped out of his truck and went into his apartment, whistling an old rock song. The night air was crisp and cool as he closed the door behind him. "Derrick?" a voice called to him. "Mom!? How'd you get here?" He hugged her, smiling as he did so. While this was not expected he welcomed it none the less. She told him everything and they talked for 30 min. He then said goodnight to his mom and went to bed. Sleep as usual came easy to him that night. His mom left that afternoon to fly home, so he drove her to the airport. After that, he returned home because it was his day off and called Lucy, who came over at noon to talk and check on him. They kissed, but nothing more so as to not give into temptation. He then asked her the question. She screamed a delighted yes and went home on cloud 9. The young lady called her parents and they had some reservations, but were happy for her none the less. As the couple planned the wedding, they put out a budget, which was 100k. They rented the suits and dresses for two weeks to give time for alterations and replacements. The food was a mix of catered and home-made dishes to appease everyone. The décor was your typical middle class, with a twist. Asian tapestry was hung on Roman columns with neutral Italian paintings, which blended quite nicely. The wedding and reception were in the same room which was good. Everyone enjoyed the wedding quite well and said there well wishes to the happy couple. The honeymoon suite was in the same hotel as the wedding and reception. Finally, the young couple settled down and retired to they're suit, where Lucy undressed Dan and picked him up and carried him to the bed. As soon as his head hit her bosom, he was out. She didn't blame because she was tired as well, so they both went to sleep that night. They made up for lost time over the two week period they were off. By the next month, everything was finalized and set in motion for a house, which they bought with a 30-year fixed rate mortgage. To this day, they are a happy couple.
