A Chance at Love Part 2




As Sarah was thinking about this, her parents arrived. After talking to her to
see if she was alright, her mother asked if she could see Dan. As soon as her
parents saw Sarah's mother, they mouthed, "Oh my God." "It's been awhile,
hasn't it?" said her mom. "Yes it has Jackie," said Natalie. "How have you
been Josh?" "Great, until now of course, he replied to her. Her father then
approached the scene, smiling and shaking hands. "Drew, can we talk?" Josh
asked his former partner. "Sure man, what's going through your head man?" He
then turned to him and said, "You and I both know that we could walk right in
to the station, pick up our stuff, and walk the beat, no questions asked."
"Yea, but it's not wisdom, man. We can't just scratch the itch every time it
itches." Josh then cooled down considerably, understanding that this would
have to be fought with them sitting on the outside.

When Mrs. Stone, Dan's nurse entered the room, she could feel the emotions, so
she left. Then Sarah's mom took Dan's hand, looked into his eyes and asked him
who did this. He motioned for paper and wrote Grant and his friends' names.
Everyone seethed with fury at the list. This was the final straw for Sarah,
who stormed out of the room. She couldn't explain it, but somehow she fell in
love with the guy. "I'll take a chance on the guy, once he feels better" she
reasoned. Someone needed to see what made him tick. She was determined to find
out. Love had to wait though, because justice had to be served. Sarah knew who
to call for this job.
