Playing the trainer, as if I know what I'm doing. by Zeke This would be the first time I'd wrestle a 200 pounder. True, Tiger had less than a half dozen sessions under her belt but she'd grown up wrestling with brothers, cousins, and kids at school. I'd set the session up as a training session but had no way of knowing whether my 160 pounds and the experience I'd had with top level session wrestlers would be enough to allow me to control her or provide any useful tips as she started getting experience in the trade. I pulled in a little late but quickly found the room number near the back of the motel. I knocked quietly. She was waiting, a little uncertain maybe of what to do, so I gave her a big hug. I was pleased that her weight was not flabby - she was simply a big boned kid with the weight well distributed. "Last friendly hug you'll get from me," she said with a grin. We chatted just a bit - I find it awkward at the beginning before any rapport is established. Easier to just get down to the mats and see how we match up. So I excused myself to change in the bathroom, which took no time at all, but she was down to a one piece swim suit by the time I emerged. If you like big girls, this is one you should give a try. I reviewed quickly what I was interested in - wrestling for pins starting on knees with a pin not counted until the loser admitted they couldn't escape. All holds allowed but none used to cause pain or exact a submission. As I expected she didn't have a clue as to how to start. She settled for a pushing contest but quickly determined that I was strong enough to match her strength. Then we went to grabbing arms and trying to throw the other off balance. She showed much better balance than I had expected and greatly surprised me with her stamina. Still she was unable to gain an advantage. Finally I went to a collar and elbow lock up, quickly pulling her head down and sliding behind her. That gave me control of her movement but it was quickly apparent I was not going to have much success trying to control her lower body. I moved back to her side and slipped into a half nelson. She was slow to adjust and before she could figure out where her legs should go, I'd rolled her on her back. Quickly moving to a school girl pin, I pulled her arms straight over her head and flattened out on her body. Again she demonstrated a gritty resolve not to give up, pushing from side to side trying to get an opening, then switching to get her feet under her and giving a series of pelvic thrusts giving the sensation of riding a mechanical bull. It was a long ride before she finally submitted. We maybe did two or three more sets during which I tried a variety of attacks and defenses to see how she'd react to each. Then we went into the teaching mode. First we worked on gaining the advantage by controlling the head either by pushing it down and locking in a front headlock or by swiveling into a standard headlock. In either case she quickly recognized the truth to the statement that where the head will go the body will follow. Then we worked on feinting one way and then snapping on a body scissors and controlling at least one arm. Finally I suggested that if nothing else worked she should be able to pull down on my arms, then come over my body with a reverse body hold, letting her powerhouse legs control my head. Finally we worked on some finishing holds. She quickly saw the benefit of spreading out on a full body press, pulling my head into her breasts, and adding submission pressure by using the bone in the wrist to dig into my neck. She also adjusted quickly to a cross body press scissoring one arm and pulling out on the other while rotating her hip bone to secure the head. Lovely sensation to both of these holds - totally helpless but so tantalizing - until she puts on the pressure. And then of course there was the reverse scissors hold. I was reduced to stroking her thighs since it was obvious I wasn't going anywhere. We then went back to wrestling and she was quite pleased when something new we'd worked on indeed provided a winning hold and just as important, she quickly realized when she'd missed an opportunity. She's got a great personality for a session wrestler. Our match was filled with grunts, groans, and laughter. She is not a clock watcher and makes you feel like an old friend. Tiger is a great addition to the small session wrestlers in Ohio. She's a quick study but needs more practice to become a truly great session wrestler. Fortunately she is a delightful woman to be around and is clearly capable of fast improvement. I can't wait to see her again in a month or two to see how much she's improved. I really should work on getting her to make the most of that lower body strength - but then would I be able to survive?
