Kyla My meeting with Kyla  Recently I contacted Kyla Luciano to do a session match. She was quick to respond and sounded really nice from our conversation. Kyla told me that she was looking foreward to our match because I am a little smaller than her and had the same experience she did. Of course I was also excited to meet her.  It took 3 hours to travel to the hotel she was staying at in North Carolina, where she was doing some video work that weekend. When I arrived I was a little disappointed that she was not there and the room was full of people. I am a bit private about these sessions, of which I have done 4, but her friends made me feel welcome while I waited for her arrival. She was running behind because the producer drove off with her gear. After a 40 minute wait she came in and looked upset. We shook hands in greeting and I told her whatever she had on would do fine. She apologized and went to change. Her friends left us and she came out wearing a black bikini that looked terrific on her!  After I changed we talked about rules. We agreed to no chokes and of course the no groping rule. I talked her into a warm up with pinfalls only, then we started. We shook hands and worked from our knees where I took control at first, bringing her to her stomach. I had a little amateur experience from one of my training partners in the past, a 250 lb champion. Let me tell you that as hard as it is to turn someone that much bigger than you it was just as hard to turn Kyla! She has only 10 lbs on me (I'm 115 lbs, 5'4"), but it seemed like more because of her excellent base. We got off the "mat" area and broke then talked for a minute.  Since I was feeling warmed up we went to submissions. She had been filming all weekend and I had not trained for almost 2 years, but when we locked up again we both fought with all our skill and speed. I was surprised that I did not weaken, even though we took a couple short breaks throughout the 1 hour session. We wrestled a technical match, with lots of reversals and counters. She was smiling and I asked if she was having fun. She said yes and replied so are you! I could not argue that!  At one point we were locked up and talking about Helen Von Mott when she got into my guard. I tried for a triangle with my legs but she pushed them away and got my back. While she went for a headlock I reached behind me and locked my fingers around the back of her neck, then stripped her off my back. She landed inverted on the floor, where I tried for a headscissor. With cat like quickness she spun under me and went to her guard. I broke it quickly and we ended in the half guard, locked leg scissors and hugged each other in another stalemate. I said "you were saying?", which made her laugh before continuing to tell me about Helen while we grappled  The entire match went like this, with neither of us gaining the advantage for long! We did not score a single fall that night. She told me that I was the smallest man she had ever faced and that she was really pleased to have had such a close match with me. I have trained with some big and powerful men in the past and can honostly say that I held my own against most of them. Kyla would surely do the same. She is the real deal! An excellent combination of speed, strength, skill, and beauty!                                                                                             The Wolverine
