Corbin: The College Years, part 10

By Corbin, nex_xus@hotmail.com

How life tests the endurance, patience, and sometimes faith of one young woman.

Pre-Story Introduction/Ranting/Venting/Rambling…

No angst to vent today as I send this off to Diana’s web site, I woke up this morning and the weather is turning wonderfully warm. I look forward to heading off to the gym later today :) and a long summer ahead.

I had someone inquire as to “…why I chose to post this story at Diana’s web site?” It’s a good question really and there was more too it then the simple one line I repeated above, but essentially that was the heart of it.

The answer for me has nothing to do with muscles or women beating men…or women beating women...or women suddenly growing …anyway I could go on…. The reason was that as I began writing all of this out, I found that there was a bond, a strength in the relationship that I have with my girls and they with me. We may bicker…argue…fight…but at the end of the day we still love each other and give each other strength. There is, if you will, a secret society within groups of women that men cannot fathom; I hope if nothing else to convey the heart…pain…love…and close bond I share with these amazing women. If along the way you women and men enjoy reading about the occasional mention of muscles…conflict…and maybe even a little sex…then good, and just maybe you’ll get some further insight into a few other things. I think there is a fit at this web site for this story which reflects on women ‘strong of heart and spirit’ as much as any story posted dealing with ‘strong muscles’.

Part 10

Practice was typically exhausting and while most people were up and just starting to party their assess off at ten or eleven o’clock at night, Corbin was turning her light off and that Thursday night was no different as she routinely went to bed around ten or eleven.

‘Damn’ she blinked as she heard the door knob unlock, rolling over she looked at the clock, “1:35am” and rolled back over in frustration. ‘Damn Sharon, have some courtesy!’ Corbin sighed privately, although Sharon ‘tried’ to be quiet as the girl went into the bathroom, the sound of sink water running was actually soothing for some reason and her eyelids became heavy again. But her peace was soon significantly startled when she felt additional weight on her bed;
”What in the…” Corbin jerked her head up to see Sharon kneeling on the edge of her bed. “Sharon, do you know what time it is?” Corbin hissed.

“Scoot over” The brunette drunkenly slurred as she crawled over the bed, decked out in her nightshirt.

“You’ve been drinking, haven’t you?” Corbin moaned and scooted over as Sharon pulled the covers over her.

“Just a little….OH! Your body puts off so much heat!” Sharon squealed with delight. Corbin felt Sharon curl up behind her and snuggle up close, this wasn’t an odd occurrence, and Sharon did this frequently when she drank, wanting to crawl into Corbin’s bed and oddly enough, Corbin thought little of it, and in fact it was all very innocent to her. Unlike what happened with Nikki a couple of nights ago, something was going on with her and Nikki and Corbin found herself fighting to keep her thoughts from spinning off too far out of control.

Sharon was indeed a bit intoxicated and feeling guilty for the distance that had started to split down the middle of their relationship. She thought several times about saying something but the late hour kept calling out to her in the form of sleep. But even as her subconscious called out for to rest, the words came out of her mouth, “You and that Nikki girl are getting to be good friends huh?”

“That Nikki girl Sharon? What kind of statement is that” Corbin sighed.

“Don’t get defensive, I didn’t mean anything by it” Sharon complained and wrapped her left arm around Corbin’s torso, giving her a friendly hug.

“Yes, we’re hanging out and doing stuff, ever since I started with Soccer”.

“How’s that going?” Sharon quickly changed the subject as her left hand moved up and began playing with Corbin’s blonde hair.

“Good, so far” Corbin quietly sighed.

“I know it’s late, I’ll shut up and let you get some sleep” Sharon said, still stroking Corbin’s hair.

“It’s okay Sharon, I know you mean well, thanks” Corbin left hand reached back rubbed Sharon’s thigh, although covered by a blanket.

“Hey, don’t get fresh” Sharon teased.

“You wish” Corbin mumbled.

“Pervert” Sharon quipped right back.

“Freak” Corbin snapped back and pushed her elbow into Sharon’s ribs gently.

“Don’t start something you can’t finish” Sharon grabbed Corbin’s prodding elbow.

“Tough talk for a wimpy cheerleader” Corbin jerked her left elbow sharply, freeing it from Sharon’s grasp.

“OW!” Sharon suddenly belched and Corbin felt her friend curl up.

“Sharon? You ok? I’m sorry” Corbin spun around in the bed, “I was only teasing” she moved the covers back to see Sharon clutching her ribs. “I’m such a clumsy idiot. I’m sorry” Corbin flipped her hair back and went to sit up, “Let me turn the light on” and she reached for the bedside lamp. Her fingers touched the knob and she was about to give the switch a click when suddenly an involuntary groan came from her mouth as a pair of thighs clamped around her waist. Corbin tried to feel her way around in the dark and twisted her torso, quickly feeling Sharon’s legs clamped even tighter. With her back turned, Corbin felt an arm flung around her neck as Sharon pulled her back down to the bed.

“What? What you saying about some wimpy cheerleader?” Sharon whispered into Corbin’s ear as she flexed her thighs causing the blonde to grunt.

“But I thought…” Corbin gasped.

“SUCKER!” Sharon smiled and kissed Corbin’s left ear. But Sharon knew better then to let up now and flexed her jaw as her legs trembled with effort, if she didn’t get Corbin to cry ‘uncle’ in the first few minutes then it would be an uphill battle for her.

“Fuck Sharon, not so hard” Corbin whined as her legs kicked and thrashed on the bed, agonizingly she struggled first by grabbing Sharon’s forearm and out muscling her friend, forcing Sharon’s arm from around her neck. Slowly she began to twist her body, her abs flexing to keep Sharon’s incredible thighs from crushing all of the air from her lungs.

“Not so hard Sharon” Sharon mocked as she strained, “Now give up” she demanded while struggling to keep Corbin from turning around.

“Okay fine, it’s going to be like that” Corbin moaned getting irritated at Sharon’s mocking and went about trying to secure Sharon’s wrists, but the brunette was tucking them in close to her chest and was pretty strong. Corbin hated this, her nightshirt had ridden way up and as she drew her knees up, forcing her butt to stick way up in the air. With her right hand, Corbin reached behind her and found Sharon’s left foot, giving it a twist to break Sharon’s ankle lock.

“Ouch…ouch…ouch!” Sharon snapped as her left foot was wrenched from around her right ankle.

“Cry baby” Corbin sighed.

Sharon gave up the scissor hold; it was only a matter of time any way and jerked her legs back trying to kick her way out from under Corbin and both girls’s thrashed back and forth as Corbin fought to keep from getting nailed by Sharon’s flailing feet and knees. “No way bitch” Sharon seethed as she struggled, but it was a struggle that seemed to be turning into a mostly defensive battle as she was constantly yanking her hands and legs free, expending nothing but valuable energy. While she had finally wiggled her way onto her right side, Corbin kept throwing her right leg up and over Sharon’s waist trying to get back on top of her. The short battle had taken allot out of both girls, each gasping for air although Corbin seemed to be a little less tired. Their bodies bathed in sheen of perspiration as their movements become slow and more calculating in an effort to conserve energy. Corbin didn’t know why Sharon enjoyed these little impromptu fights, she could never quite figure it out, but every so often she would prod Corbin into a wrestling match which Sharon always lost if Corbin wasn’t in the mood to ‘go easy’. But Sharon hated to loose…at anything, and would fight as underhanded as she could to win.

With a hard slap of their sweat drenched bellies, Corbin finally pinned her friend to the mattress, forcing Sharon’s arms over her head as she grapevined her legs, the sweat making it easy to hook her feet around Sharon’s calves.

“Fuck” Sharon gasped. Secretly, and this is something that she would never reveal, she got a thrill out of fighting with Corbin…yes some kind of sexual charge from it as she lay there, trapped under the blonde’s body and what a body it was with her long muscular legs and arms. Sharon loved watching them in action and even more so loved feeling them working against her own muscles. Yet that was the extent of it, Sharon had no reservation she was heterosexual and liked boys.

“Do you give to me?” Corbin smiled as she lowered her face close to Sharon. While Sharon’s antics initially annoyed the hell out of Corbin, she did get a thrill out of making the brunette suffer for her games.

“One of these days my tough friend, I’m going to turn the tables on you” Sharon sneered.

“Until then…tell me” Corbin flexed her hands around Sharon’s wrists.

“I surrender, you win” Sharon sighed.

“Good” Corbin said as she relaxed, her entire body going limp as she collapsed on top of Sharon. Slowly as her body went totally lax, Corbin stretched out her legs to ease some cramping in the back of her thighs. In a moment of spontaneous affection, Sharon drew her knees up and wrapped her legs around Corbin’s waist as her arms came up and hugged her blonde friend as if embracing a lover.

“I love you Corbin, you’re my best friend” Sharon sighed as she pulled tight, feeling their sweat drenched bodies cling to one another.

”I love you too” Corbin moaned into Sharon’s neck. But things were not so wonderful; she was torn by the fact that deep down inside she was in hell over the suspicion that her two best friends in her life couldn’t stand one another. For another minute Corbin laid their, until she realized a few uncomfortable things…the way their shirts had ridden up so high that their breasts were almost hanging out and most embarrassingly, the way their panty covered mounds pressed against one another, the heat from Sharon’s crotch seemed to radiate out and pass thru into her own.

As if in some unspoken initiative, both untangled themselves from one another and rolled apart, breaking their embrace, each lying their looking up at the ceiling hoping the confusing moment would simply pass…and it did. Corbin chuckled and pulled the sheet back up over her body.

“What’s so funny?” Sharon rolled her head over to the right and smiled.

“I don’t know, just…just how silly we can be” Corbin shrugged.

The past couple of weeks had been a dramatic change in Corbin’s life, in fact she felt as though her entire life up until now, was unable to compare with the emotional growth and changes she was going thru.

Physically, Corbin felt like she was pushing the boundaries of acceptable behavior by being so affectionate with both Nikki and Sharon…Nikki’s affection was intense…purposeful…even dangerous, while Sharon on the other hand didn’t seem to take any of it too serious and that was a relief.

‘Yet was such behavior between two friends of the same sex okay?’ Corbin had started to wonder, ‘Thank god I haven’t developed the urge to kiss any of them’ while the thought of actually having sex with her friends was unthinkable. Her romantic fantasy’s were still dominated by a male presence…although she was miserable in that department as well, she couldn’t understand how she could be on the receiving end of so many dopey comments, which left her wondering if there was an intelligent man to be found. ‘Such a silly question’ she considered as many of her male professors, her father, and many men she had come across over the years were highly intelligent and spoke intelligently…and they spoke to her intelligently…

‘And then the pendulum swings in the opposite direction when guys hit on me, trying to talk about nothing put technical…politics…or just be too intellectual…instead of just being themselves. I guess it’s true about what people say; a man’s brain shuts off when confronted with a pretty girl’ But Corbin shook her head at that notion, ‘Sounds stupid’ she never thought of herself as pretty…or attractive…or beautiful…regardless of what her friends told her or however many guys hit on her.

Looking down at her watch, Corbin was suddenly startled to see the time was getting away from her, she had a date tonight…the ‘blind’ date that Sharon had setup.

“Fuck!” Corbin cursed out loud as she sprinted up the stairs to her dorm room….”I’m late…I’m late…for a very important date!” she mumbled under breath with a smile…unable to remember where she had heard that catchy phrase from before.

“Sharon should be over in a little while” Kevin got up and paced the room a bit more, a smattering of guys watched him with envy. He was the Fraternity President and was dating one of the hottest girls on Campus, much to the dismay of his recent ex-girlfriend. An ‘ex’ who had tried to launch an unsuccessful campaign to discredit Sharon, but that wasn’t the big news for the evening, it was Kevin’s Frat brother Will who was on the hook tonight, he was the one going on the ‘blind date’ with Corbin.

“I can’t fucking believe it, you two have got to be the luckiest bastards in this school, and you!” he pointed to Will, “How did you manage that score? A date with Ms. Untouchable…Ms. Attitude…whatever you want to call her problem”

“Untouchable is right, I bet you try and lay a hand on her she’ll break you over her knee” Another guy piped up laughing.

“Sounds good to me” Will said nervously, sparking scattered laughter. Kevin froze as he saw Sharon walking up the sidewalk and quickly went to the front door.

“There he goes, like some love struck puppy dog” a guy mumbled as Kevin bolted for the front door.

Sharon followed Kevin into the main area of the house;

“What’s up guys” She said while pulling the sunglasses from her eyes. Sharon radiated charisma and everyone perked up, well almost, there were always the ‘slackers’ as she like to refer to them, that barely responded or tried to act ‘too cool’ to show good manners while attempting to make lame jokes.

“So?” Will sat forward anxiously.

“What?” Sharon acted dumb.

“You know!” Will nervously smiled.

“No I don’t know” Sharon kept staring seriously at him, as he stared blankly at the sitting guy.

“About tonight?” Will seemed to be getting flustered until Sharon finally smiled, to which a number of guys laughed at Will’s expense, obviously she was making him sweat it out a bit.

“Jesus Sharon” Will flopped back on the couch running his hands thru his hair, “Don’t do that”

“God Will!” Sharon laughed and put her arm around the back of Kevin, “Your about to have a heart attack, aren’t you?”

“I hope he does” A guy got up and walked towards the Kitchen, “That way I can get next in line”

“You’re damn right I’m going to have a heart attack, I’ve never even spoken to her before, what if she hates me or something” He laughs at his own expense while glancing around.

“Will, chill out” Sharon waves her right hand in the air, “Everything is going to be fine, this is all going to be casual. In fact, let me talk to you two guys outside for a second pulling Kevin along” Will looked around and cautiously got up to follow.

“You sure you ready for this?” Another frat brother looked up from the corner chair while flipping channels on the remote, to which Will shrugged without replying.

Sharon stopped in front of Kevin and Will, waiting for Will to shut the front door, “Okay, let me lay down the ground rules” Sharon said.

“Rules?” Kevin asked in shock, “Yeah, what rules Sharon?” Will asked hesitantly.

“Hey, you want to back out well now is your chance!” She quickly emphasized.

“No, but I think you making this into a bigger deal then it is” Will said to which Kevin nodded.

“You’re damn right I am” Sharon’s eyebrows knotted up angrily, “Because I’m sticking my neck on the line for you. You’ve been bugging the shit out of me for weeks and now she’s agreed, so you want this? HUH?” Sharon stepped up challenging him.

“Yes!” he said defensively, leaning back a little.

“Corbin can be very direct…” Sharon went on, her voice a bit calmer.

“You’re kidding?” Kevin blurted out with sarcasm, based on the way he had seen her carry herself.

“…no, I’m not kidding at all, she’s not big on Social graces. So, no pressures and I would recommend going very, very slow, understand?” Sharon placed her sunglasses back on.

“Got it” Will said with a shrug of his shoulders and left it at that.

“Oh, and good manners, that’s very important to Corbin…”

“Sharon…Sharon, why are you so tense, and what’s with all the ground rules with Corbin?” Kevin reached out and gently touched her shoulder.

Sharon took a deep breath and looked each in the eye before continuing, “Look, maybe I’m making a bigger deal out of this then I should, it’s just Corbin can be very ‘abrupt’ in her responses and I don’t want you, Will, to take anything wrong. She sometimes has a tendency to speak her mind, at the worst possible moment”

“So she can be opinionated or maybe outspoken is the better choice of words?” Will shrugged as if he was just fine with that.

“Okay” Sharon exhaled and let it go at that, see you guys later and turned away with a smile. Watching and waiting for Sharon to get into her car, Will shook his head and gripped, “Dating has got to be easier then this”.

“Your telling me” Kevin sighed as they turned around to go back into the house.

“So tell me again, why am putting myself thru this?” Will asked as they went back into the house.

“Because Corbin is one of the hottest babes on campus” Kevin responded.

“Oh yeah” He smiled knowingly.

~~~~~~~
“This sucks” Will sighed and slumped forward to sip on his beer.
“Chill out, the night is not over” Kevin tried to shed some light at the end of the tunnel, but he knew that Will was doing down in flames, and not due to his own hand either.
“She’s barely said a word all night, I mean, what’s going on? I’ve laid low this whole evening, tried to engage her in conversation and put NO moves on her, at all!” Will felt himself lean over the table a little more with ever word.
“I’ll talk to Sharon and find out what’s going on” Kevin sighed, “But hey, she looks pretty fucking hot, huh?” He smiled.
“Oh yeah…” Will rolled his eyes, “…every look she gives me is like she wants to stab hot pokers in my skull, that’s real sexy”
Sharon leaned over the sink and placed the ruby lipstick against her bottom lip, her eyes darting over to watch Corbin run her fingernails thru her blonde hair, adjusting it over her shoulders.
“Why the primping?” Sharon said casually.
“Huh?” Corbin froze and looked over.
“Why bother, you’re not having a good time” Sharon twisted the bottom of the tube and the lipstick disappeared into it’s container as she evenly rubbed her lips together.
“What? Who says? I’m having a fine time” Corbin shook her head with dismay at Sharon’s analysis of her.
“Oh, then could you do me a favor” Sharon leaned away from the mirror and straightened her dress a little.
“What’s that?”
“Could you share some of that good time with Will, he looks miserable” Sharon dropped the lipstick into her case and turned to face Corbin. She watched Corbin’s jaw clench tightly and her head pivot forward, a classic sign of irritation on the blonde’s part, but Sharon didn’t give a shit.
“I am not going to throw myself at him or paw all over him” Corbin slowly turned to look at Sharon, Corbin’s voice low and tense, with a hint of defensiveness.
“I know you don’t want to be here Corbin, but he’s been nothing but polite to you, so you could pay a little attention to him. Is that too much to ask? I mean the poor guy is miserable, just take a look at him when you go back out there! Whatever you decide to do is fine with me, but do something!” Sharon leaned in and tugged on Corbin’s left arm.
Taking a deep breath Corbin rolled her eyes, “Okay, okay…we’ll see” Corbin slipped her purse over her right shoulder.
“Thanks” Sharon smiled and gave Corbin a slight hug before turning around to walk out, “And don’t roll your eyes at me, I hate that” Sharon said as she opened the door.
“Sorry” Corbin said, following Sharon out into the bar. The girls navigated past a series of pool tables that were part of the back of the bar area. Actually, the entire establishment was nicely segregated into a Bar, Restaurant, and Pool area. But they were unable to make it back to their seats without several comments and lingering stares as they walked by the groups of guys playing pool.
Closing in on the table Corbin eyed Will closely and she did in fact notice his lack of an upbeat mood which had been there earlier. Corbin frowned a little, and realized it was her fault to some degree, she could easily make or break guy with a few kind words and some kind attention
“Hi Will, sorry we took so long” Corbin said softly and sat down, he sat up and smiled, but it was forced, that much was evident to Corbin and she scooted her chair a little closer to his and then he sat up some more. His darting gaze bespoke of some confusion as to what that meant, not to mention that one minute he was ready to verbally trash Corbin upon returning to the Frat house. But now, by her simply moving her chair closer to him she had caused his mood to lighten, although he still had not totally shaken the funk off. Corbin smiled across to Sharon, who smiled back.
“You guys want to bounce some pool balls around and maybe hit a club?” Kevin looked around the table.
“Oh yeah, sounds good” Sharon perked up and looked at Corbin for support.
“Okay” Corbin smiled and looked at Will who agreed and seemed to perk up a little, although it was obvious he still was in slight slump. Sharon was up first and Corbin had moved over to stand next to Will, something that seemed to improve his mood and when he felt her hand touch his back a shiver went up his spine causing him to totally lose touch with reality. ‘What the hell?’ he thought, totally confused by her signals now and looked over to his left, Corbin was simply staring straight ahead, but even so he smiled a little and took a deep breath when she began to rub her hand up and down his back. ‘God that feels good’ he thought as her fingernails gently scratched his back.
“Huh?” He quickly turned his head to the left, thinking her heard something.
“You’re up” Corbin said and he blinked.
‘I’m up?’ Will thought, ‘Damn straight I’m up…’ but his mind quickly jolted itself back to reality…”Oh…oh…it’s my turn…shit” Will suddenly stepped forward shaking his head at how his mind was totally on his dick right now. Actually he was thinking about her being on his dick. ‘What the hell’ he thought, he was so out of it that he didn’t even hear her the first time. For the rest of the evening Corbin became a little more touchy feeling, allowing him to hold her hand on occasion, while keeping things a little at arms length. But overall, it kept his spirits up and he was after all a nice guy Corbin told herself. At the end of the evening, as he went for a kiss she gave a lingering, but quick peck on his lips and pulled back, but he immediately went to follow up for more and Corbin turned her head, offering her right cheek. She smiled and he laughed a little, getting the hint;
“Would you like to go out again?” Will asked with a little more confidence then he had shown all evening.
“Sure, that could be nice” Corbin smiled and took a step back, signaling the end to the evening.
“So how do you think it went?” Sharon asked as they drove home.
“Fine” Corbin said, but smiled when she saw Sharon grip the steering wheel with frustration, she knew Sharon was looking for a better answer and continued, “Well, I mean, Will seems nice you know, I don’t know what he thought of me. I was kind of quiet most of the evening”.
“Oh, I don’t think he minded, he couldn’t take his eyes off you, especially when you more attentive to him later in the night” Sharon looked over.
“Yeah, that seemed to lift his spirits. Was I still too quiet?” Corbin looked over with concern.
“No, not too bad, do you think you want to go out with him again?” Sharon followed up.
“I guess so, are there any other guys that would want to go out?” Corbin asked.
“What?” Sharon looked over at Corbin while they sat at the stop light, “You’re joking, right? I can’t believe your asking that question”
“What do you mean?” Corbin looked over, not quite following Sharon.
“Fuck almighty! Do you know how many guys are in line to go out with you!” Sharon was flabbergasted and slumped back in her seat.
“Really? I guess so…I don’t know” Corbin sighed with a faint smile and looked out the window to her right. Sharon was still shaking her head in disbelief.
“So many to choose from” Corbin looked over and laughed a bit, a big grin showing up on her lips.
“Oh no, I’ve created a monster, look out!” Sharon laughed.
“No…no, no” Corbin quickly muttered and glanced out the window, “I’ve got so much work to do and with practice and going to the gym, I really need to focus….”
“On getting a social life!” Sharon interjected.
Corbin just let out a big sigh, “We’ll see”.
~~~~~

“I haven’t a fucking clue” Will complained walking up the sidewalk, the cool night air caused him to close his jacket tightly about him.

“Don’t worry about it, at least things picked up towards the end of the night” Kevin consoled him.

“Oh fuck” Will groaned as he stepped into the house and saw that most of the guys were up. So of course he got peppered with questions.

~~~~~
But in the days and weeks to follow, Corbin never made any real effort to follow thru on those social commitments, seemingly more content on falling back into her regular routine. Sharon however, did continue to focus on her social priorities, and the two friends seemed to privately admit that the growing distance in their friendship was going to have to run its course. Sharon just couldn’t keep trying to drag Corbin on dates and Corbin wasn’t about to force herself to get enthusiastic about dating when she would rather; study, run, practice soccer and workout at the gym.
Corbin decided she was going to let things ‘ride out’ for the next few weeks or even months, ‘Just try to be the best friend that you can’ Corbin would tell herself, even though it was tough as Sharon was spending more time and even nights at the Sorority house now, but Corbin got used to going bed alone, after all she grew up as an only child.
~~~~~~

“Damn girl!” The voice called out from behind Corbin, causing the blonde’s whole face to light up. Even before turning around, the voice was unmistakable as she saw Sharon standing there, sunglasses on. It was an unusually warm day and for the first time that fall, Corbin was wearing a tank top out on a sun drenched patio while reading. Sharon removed her sunglasses and leaned down, she had never seen Corbin in this great a shape. Her shoulders, arms and abs that rolled distinctly under the tight tank top were impressive.

Corbin's book practically fell to the ground as she shocked Sharon by reaching over and hugging her as if she had not seen her in months, when in fact it had only been a few days. A few guys looked over and watched, in fact they had been stealing glances at Corbin for the past several minutes as she sat reading.

"I know..." Sharon sighed, "...I've been a terrible friend, but you wouldn't believe the schedule I am on..." Corbin sat and listened as Sharon talked on and on about everything, it was just like that, they just chatted and talked. But underneath, despair had taken root within both of them, they knew their friendship was taking a strain although neither would admit it, in fact they had both become weary of discussing it at length.

Corbin watched Sharon’s hand reach over to grab her tank top near her stomach, “Hey!” Corbin smacked Sharon’s hand away before she could get a grip.

“Come on, let me see” Sharon teased, “I see something under there”.

“See what?” Corbin growled.

“Those abs, that’s what, your time in the gym is paying off big time” Sharon leaned down poking her fingers at Corbin’s stomach.

“Stop that!” Corbin looked around nervously to see if anyone was watching and continued to swat Sharon’s fingers away.

“Not until you show me” Sharon demanded leaning back placing both hands on her hips.

“Jesus Sharon…” Corbin looked around and rotated her body away from the where most everyone was lounging around on the large common area.

“What are you doing? Just lift it up” Sharon watched Corbin turn away.

“Not in front of everyone” Corbin hissed, “If you want to see then step around here” Corbin whispered.

“You’re sad you know that…nobody gives a shit if you lift up your shirt, it’s not like your flashing your tits Corbin” Sharon shook her head.

“Not so loud!” Corbin blushed and looked over her shoulder, but she did watch several guys staring in their direction and honestly did feel stupid…stupid all the way around for being bashful.

“Holy shit” Sharon sighed and leaned down while her right hand rubbed up and down the rolling abdominal muscles of Corbin’s stomach. “Don’t flex, just relax…” Sharon sighed.

“I am relaxed” Corbin sneered impatiently, “This is flexed!” Corbin sighed feeling ridiculous watching Sharon perform some inspection like she was shopping for something.

Sharon’s eyes narrowed as she watched the transformation take place from what was simply obvious before to something seemingly etched…hard…exquisitely defined and Sharon’s fingers reached out moving from side to side following the deep cuts that separated the muscles along Corbin’s stomach around to her waist.

Serratus anterior” Corbin said quietly.

“What?” Sharon glanced up.

“What your touching now” Corbin said.

“And this?” Sharon looked down and back up.

“Abdominal oblique” Corbin replied and actually felt proud of her body and the effect it was having on Sharon and her. Sharon didn’t say anything but simply dragged her fingers over Corbin’s warm, smooth skin until she stopped and looked up again. “Rectus Abdominis” Corbin smiled and a chill went up her spine at how Sharon’s touch lingered and caressed her skin, gently probing her definition.

Slowly Sharon withdrew her touch and straightened up, shaking her head in disbelief, “Wow Corbin, that’s impressive…I mean I knew you were built…but…” Sharon smirked; she was actually at a loss for words for once.

“DAMN” A guy’s voice suddenly interrupted their moment and Corbin’s whole body jumped as she watched a guy walk by, but quickly come to an abrupt stop staring at Corbin’s exposed stomach.

“Shit” Corbin complained and yanked her shirt down, quickly reaching for her books.

“I meant that as a compliment” The guy looked on. But Corbin kept walking away, head down and embarresed.

“I didn’t mean anything…” The guy waved his arms out to his side with a smile.

“Corbin…wait!” Sharon called out and chased her friend down.

Corbin suddenly stopped walking to face Sharon, “Hey, can we have dinner tonight?"

"Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry, I would love too but I have this..." Her voice trailed off as the look of disappointment washed over Corbin's face a look that Corbin fought to hide, she didn’t want to throw any attitude in Sharon’s direction. "...I'll see what I can do" Sharon said seriously, but Corbin knew it was bullshit. Her entire social and dating life was a priority, Corbin stood at the same time Sharon did, who was getting ready to depart. Sharon gave a somewhat reluctant hug, as it felt like the next time they saw one another might be a long time.

Sharon paused as she went to leave and put her sunglasses back on, Corbin froze and recognized the hesitation, and she got somewhat excited with anticipation.

"Look," she said seriously, "...I have to tell you something"

"Yeah? What is it?" Corbin stared blankly.

"Look babe" Sharon gripped Corbin's right arm, a little surprised how defined it was, “I know I’ve been staying at the Sorority house more and more often now, but once my pledging is up…” Sharon paused, which gave Corbin time to think, wondering perhaps if Sharon was going to say that they would have more time to spend together.

“I know things have been crazy Sharon” Corbin smiled.

“Oh yeah, totally…” Sharon smiled, but Corbin detected a little hesitation behind the smile and maybe this wasn’t good news and she felt that ‘sinking feeling’.

“…but once the pledging is up, and I get accepted…well, I’m pretty sure I’ll get accepted, I’ll be spending more nights at the Sorority house. Basically, I’ve gotten a few hints they are going to offer me a room at the house, it’s a really big deal!” Sharon tried to perk up and emphasize the importance of this to her and gripped Corbin’s arm tighter. But, Sharon could tell by the way Corbin’s smile began to fade that her news wasn’t being received so well.

“I’m sorry” Sharon frowned.

"Sorry? About what? I’m busy with school work, practice and all that stuff, nothing as exciting as your schedule" Corbin shrugged and half heartedly smiled, “But that’s okay Sharon, really I know it means allot to you…”

“You sure?” Sharon stepped in and hugged her.

“Oh come on!” Corbin leaned away with a perplexed look, “I’m a big girl, it’s not like I can’t handle being on my own!” Corbin laughed a little but she was falling apart inside, but would never admit it. She felt closer to Sharon then almost anyone and had started to envision their friendship falling apart day by day.

"Okay" Sharon quickly hugged Corbin again, but she didn’t feel the hug returned so enthusiastically. Pulling away, Sharon leaned in close, “I promise babe, I’ll make plans for us to get together and we’ll spend loads of time together, just like we used too”.

"Yep, sounds great" Corbin sighed and picked her book up, watching Sharon walk off, another chip seemed to crumble away from their friendship. Nikki was the only saving grace along with her sports. Thankfully, holiday break was coming up and Corbin thought a few days back home would be nice and she would be able to nurture a friendship which seemed to be falling apart. 'Who the hell am I kidding' Corbin was skeptical, Sharon had not mentioned one thing to Corbin about getting together, and obvious sign that Sharon had no intention of slowing down her activities at College.

She paused upon entering her dorm room and glanced and Sharon’s tidy, well made bed…wondering if perhaps it would be the last time she would look over and see her friends’ collection of stuffed animals and other belongings.

“This sucks” Corbin sighed and tossed her back pack over onto her own bed.
