______Heidi pulled into the parking lot of the place where she would be working. The building was three stories tall and was located in a secluded business park. She was on time for her nine o'clock interview with only a slight feeling of apprehension. The blonde entered the building and the receptionist sent her up to the second floor to meet with the human resources director.
______The HR director excepted Heidi's application and resume. The blonde sat quietly while the woman looked the resume over. The director finally looked up and smiled at Heidi. She said, "Just a moment Ms. Anderson." The woman picked up a phone and spoke quietly to someone. She put the phone back down and handed back the blonde's paperwork, saying, "Angelica will see you now. Third floor, end of the corridor." She smiled as she and Heidi stood up and said, "Welcome to Angel Systems Incorporated, Heidi."
______When Heidi stepped out onto the third floor, she was pleasantly surprized by the quiet luxury and furnishings. She felt like she was in a private residence, not a business. She entered the large door at the end of the corridor and introduced herself to a strikingly pretty woman who had to be Angelica's secretary.
______"Go on in Ms. Anderson," the woman said, indicating the inner recesses of the owner's private office. Heidi went deeper into the private quarters of her new employeer and found herself in a large but cozy office. She approached a woman seated at a large desk that was covered with an assortment of computer and communications equipment. She stopped about four feet from the desk and waited. The woman looked up at her and motioned for her to sit while she looked at Heidi's resume.
______The blonde knew this woman had to be Angelica. The woman looked different than Veronica, but she possessed the same undefinable qualities that the brunette did. She radiated something that went beyond mere beauty and sex appeal. On top of all those qualities, Angelica came closer to looking like an angel more than anyone Heidi had ever seen.
______Angelica was wearing a perfectly tailored business suit and understated but obviously expensive jewelry. They did little to conceal the woman's exceptionally attractive body. Like her brunette counterpart, her physicque radiated an effect that was disturbingly erotic. Heidi, however, could not take her eyes off of Angelica's face.
______The woman quietly studying the blonde's resume had a face that was both sexual and innocent at the same time. Her face was a perfect oval type, her sweet lips like those of rose petals, her exotic eyes an unusual blue color. "Like looking at the sky," Heidi thought. What was stunning about the woman was her hair. It flowed down to her shoulders and behind her back like liquid gold. Its glistening softness made Heidi want to caress it.
______Angelica set Heidi's resume aside and said, "Not a resume to impress." Her expression was unreadable as she looked at the other woman. Then the blonde's new employeer smiled slightly and said, "You come highly recommended, however. I'm Angelica, and you work for me now." She stood and extended her hand, which Heidi shook politely. The blonde felt a slight tingle at the touch. They sat back down and Angelica went on: "You and I are the only ones who know of your situation. It remains between the two of us unless you decide otherwise. I expect you to keep me up to date on how you're doing. I'll give you my private e-mail address and home phone numbers. Questions?"
______Heidi hesitated then asked, "How much do you know about me and my 'situation'?"
______Angelica's already softly beautiful face became even softer as she explained: "Veronica and I had a long talk by phone yesterday. She told me everything she told you, and about what happened up in Canada, about your life up until this moment, and about what she believed is going on and what her hunches are." The striking blonde leaned back in her luxurious chair and said, "I intend to see to it that you survive this ordeal. Now go start you new job, and when you get off today, we'll go out for some drinks and have a chat."
______Angelica's secretary appeared at the door. The angel said, "Take Heidi to her department and introduce her to her supervisor. Welcome aboard Ms. Anderson."
______Heidi followed the other woman back down to the first floor. She met her immediate boss, a woman in her mid thirties named Gerenda. Next she was introduced to her new co-workers and her work cubical which she shared with another young woman whose nickname was Buzz. The blonde's perky co-worker began filling Heidi in on what her job was and what she had to learn. "You'll be doing what I as doing when I started here. I've been here for six months, and I survived it. If you need anything at all, just ask."
______Heidi's first day went much better that she had anticipated. She got along great with her trainer Buzz. Her boss Gerenda left the two of them alone for most of the day. At the end of the day, she felt better than she had in a long time. When it was time to get off, she got a call from Angelica on her phone. The blonde met her employeer in the private parking lot in the back of the building, and they drove to an out-of-the-way place that had quiet music playing in the background. The two blondes sat in a cozy, private booth and ordered drinks.
______Angelica dropped her professional demeanor and guzzled half of her drink. She asked, "Well, how did it go today?" Heidi told her and thanked her for a job that wasn't 'shitty'. The alcohol was already starting to have an effect.
______A candle burned at the center of the table the two women shared, and the angel's eyes sparkled as she went on: "I know that you're not looking forward to what is going to happen to you. As you start to change, you'll have strange feelings and experience symptoms that you don't understand. You'll be afraid. You'll resist what is happening to you. You will survive it."
______Heidi was taken aback by the other woman's bluntness. Deciding to be equally blunt, she asked, "What is your interest in this?"
______"You mean," responded Angelica, "what do I get out of it and what do I want from you." She smiled a smile that was a bit wicked. "I know Veronica fairly well. If she finds you nteresting, you're worth my time and attention. You are unique and probably one of a kind. The idea of helping you through this ordeal appeals to my curiosity, and provides me with an oppurtunity to use my considerable talents to assist you."
______The two women were served their second round of drinks, and the angel continued: "I'm not like this all the time, either." Angelica's face seemed to change slightly, and she giggled, then took a guzzle from her drink. She asked, "Have you noticed anything unusual?" Heidi said that she didn't think she had. The other woman responded by saying, "Let me now if and when you do. Even if its something you think is silly or trivial."
______Heidi listened to Angelica talk about the businesses for a while, and after finishing her third drink, decided to probe. "You mentioned something about talents. Do you mean the same kind of talents that Veronica has?"
______Angelica's gaze was level, and she seemed to look through the blonde as she answered. She stated, "Veronica and I are of the same nature, but our talents, as I like to call them, are somewhat different. We can both be good and evil, if you will. You're wondering what we are, and all I'll tell you for now is that we are different from other people. Some things are better learned over time. As I learn about you, you'll learn about me."
______Heidi hesitated, then asked, "I've seen your good side, and I've seen Veronica's good side. I've also caught a glimpse of Veronica's evil side." An unspoken question hung in the air.
______Angelica's expression was unfathomable. "Have I offended her?" Heidi thought. The blonde suddenly felt a feeling of menace coming from the other woman.
______Heidi wasn't ready for what happened next. Angelica's face seemed to change. What had been a sweet and calming look changed into a face that radiated a cold malevalence and the embodiment of all things depraved in a human being. It was the same face, but a different soul. Heidi felt an almost overpowering desire to go to the ladie's room.
______The angel's face returned, and she smiled. She said, "I can be evil Heidi, but I'm very selective about how, where, and why I chose to be. Believe me, if you were the focus of that evil, you would know beyond any shadow of a doubt. But you know otherwise, of course." Angelica raised an eyebrow to accent the smirk on her face, and giggled again. She now seemed to radiate a warmth and gentleness that was beguiling.
______Heidi realized that she was going to need Angelica's presence to get through her coming ordeal. Somehow she knew, almost at an instinctual level, that the other woman was her ally. She smiled at the angel and wondered, "Have I been seduced?"
______For the rest of the evening Angelica asked Heidi questions, many of which the young blonde wasn't sure how to answer. It was late when they finally left the private club, and Angelica drove Heidi back to her car. The angel said before she left, "I could tell you tales, young lady, and perhaps I will sometime. But first things first. Later."
______That night Heidi slept deeply. She dreamed of something she had never dreamed about before. She dreamed of demons.
