Lost Valkyrie, part two.
______ As they drove away from the hunting retreat deep in the forests of Canada, Heidi looked at the woman driving the SUV through different eyes. Now she knew just how different the woman who called herself Veronica really was. She thought about what she had witnessed and had been a part of, about how different Joan Abbott had looked, and of the young woman she had participated in helping.______Veronica had told her, "She changed very fast; I suspect you're change will be gradual." ______Heidi thought about the other, her kindred spirit. Her name was Lix'anna, and that night after they had arrived at the lodge she and the other had lain down on their backs on a large bed. Each lay close to the edge of their side of the bed, with Veronica lying between them on her stomach. Both young woman had been tense, but the brunette placed a hand on each one's stomach and had said, "Sleep." ______The next morning, the only difference Heidi had felt was as if she had not slept at all and had slept for a hundred years. The change in Lix'anna had been explosive. By that evening, the blonde and the brunette were headed back towards the States and Houston. ______On the way up to the lodge Veronica had asked Heidi questions about her life, her desires, her dreams, and her fears. She told the blonde just before they arrived at the retreat, "On the way back, I'll tell you about Angelica." ______Heidi slept through the night as the SUV moved relentlessly southward. The next morning the two women got breakfast, and then got back on the interstate. Well after sunrise, Veronic asked, "Questions?" Heidi looked at her and answered, "What's going to happen to me now?" ______The brunette said matter-of-factly, "You go to work for Angelica, and as for what is going to happen to you, how you're going to change, I'll have to explain. We'll get a motel room and some rest this evening, and I'll tell you what I've learned about you." ______Heidi spent a good part of the morning hearing about Angelica and her three businesses. What kind of work she would be doing, and what would be expected of her. She learned that Angelica was like Veronica, a woman of unusual talents. She learned that Angelica would know about Heidi and her history, and would be there when the young woman began to change. ______At dusk they exited the interstate and got a double motel room. The blonde threw her things on her bed, but the brunette just dropped her bags on the floor and flopped down on her queen-sized bed. As Heidi sat down on her own bed, Veronica rolled over and said, "This will be the first real sleep I've had in eight days." The blonde looked at her benefactor and thought, "So, your batteries are finally running down." Heidi had been starting to wonder if Veronica was human. ______The brunette sat up on her bed, yawned and stretched her fabulous body, then announced, "Go ahead and take your shower. I'll go get some food." She grabbed her bag and headed out the motel room's door, locking it. The blonde shrugged, then smiled a little. She got up and took her things into the dressing area, and started to undress. Completely naked, she looked at herself in the mirror. ______Before her stood a young woman, twenty-five years of age, with short, blonde hair and soft blue-green eyes. She stood five feet six inches tall, and had a body that was at variance with her pretty face and seemingly quiet personality. ______Heidi possessed long, well-formed legs that led up to a shapely pelvis and hips. Her waist was small and her stomach indented above the navel. Her body hair was a soft blonde color and her rear end was prominent, and like her legs and middle, hinted at strong muscles just beneath the skin. From the base of her rib cage on down there could be no doubt that this was the body of a female. ______From her ribs on upward, however, Heidi was different then most other women. She was proportionally larger. Her rib cage seemed a bit to full and deep, her shoulders a bit to broad. The muscles of her chest, back, arms, and shoulders were thick, and her neck had a sturdy form. To complete the effect of the top-heavy look, the blonde's bust was of a size that more than matched the proportions of her upper body. ______She looked strong, and she was. Since she was small she had known that she was a lot stronger than the other kids she had played with. She didn't learn how powerful she really was until she started taking Karate and other forms of the arts. She had avoided sports until that time, and thought little of her body and its potential athletic ability. She had always concealed her physique, and rarely used makeup. When she had taken up martial arts after highschool, she had excelled beyond anything she or anyone else had epected. Her instructors had encouraged her to compete in tournaments. They thought it might bring her out of her shell, as they put it. ______Heidi had a problem though. She couldn't really attack an opponent. She could fake an attack very convincingly, but she always held back. She could defend herself so well that even her most knowledgeable teachers couldn't get past her defenses. When she deflected their blows and kicks, she did so with such speed and strength she often injured them without meaning to. ______The blonde knew why she couldn't attack. The thing that had been growing inside of her was preventing her from being the engine of destruction she knew she could be. It cramped her aggression, dulled her fury, and diluted her bloodlust. It did something else also. It began to change the positive benefits Heidi was getting from her recently discovered reason for existance. Heidi's body and life had changed, and now her soul was beginning to change. The feelings that had caused her to pursue then become a marvel with her newfound physical abilities were now undermining her. She began to withdraw from her martial training, at least in public. She no longer trusted herself. Something dark and malevalent seemed to be taking hold. She continued to practice and work out on her own, but when she did so she didn't like the thoughts and moods she was experiencing. She decided to lay off for a few months. Only exercise, nothing else. Then finally, she quit doing that also. ______Heidi had finally decided to just work and considered going to get counseling. Then she learned of a women's group that focused on what she thought was a problem like hers. She joined, and though she didn't get any better, at least she now knew other women who could sympathize with her plight. It was there that she had encountered the man who called himself Tabrins. From some reason she hadn't understood, she had taken him up on his offer to help her. After that hour at Joan's house where he was staying, she had left feeling better but strange. A kind of emptyness had replaced the darkness within her. The blonde had moved to a small town outside of Houston to get a good paying factory job. The job fell through after only one month, but rather than return to the city, she took a job in the same town working the graveyard shift at a place called Fast Food Freddie's. Three months later, she encountered the woman who called herself Veronica. Now her life had change dramatically. ______Just after Heidi got through in the bathroom, the brunette returned with food and drinks. They ate in silence, then the other woman took her turn in the shower. She came back into the room wearing only an oversize tee shirt, her long dark hair wet and still rich and beautiful. She sat down on her bed, stretched her magnificent legs, motioned for the blonde to do the same, and said, "Ask your questions." There was a hint of a smile on her face, which told Heidi to relax and sit down. ______"What's your diagnoses?" Heidi asked, feeling apprehension creeping into her demeanor. ______Veronica started, "It's not bad knews, Heidi, just unusual." The brunette propped herself up against the bed's backboard and continued, "You know that people are believed to be made of three basic aspects: The body, the mind, and the spirit, or soul as some would call it. These elements combine at the beginning of person's life and form what they are. You are a bit different. You have a fourth aspect." ______Heidi had remained sitting cross-legged in the middle of her bed and said nothing, but her face said, "I'm not sure I want to hear this, but I know I have no choice." ______The brunette continued: "There are many things in this world that few people know about. One of these things is a kind of force. An embodiment of nature, but possessing no physical substance. You might call them elementals. They can represent just about anything. Under very rare circumstances, they can become attached to a person. Under even rarer circumstances, they can become a part of a person. That person is then composed of four aspects, not three: Body, mind, soul, and elemental. You are one of those very rare human beings, Heidi Anderson." ______Heidi said nothing and just looked at the woman in a way that said, "Continue." ______Veronica explained in a voice the seemed to come from far away: "When you came into the world, an elemental force joined with you. It became a part of you, but remained dormant until about the age of fifteen. Then you began to change. The darkness you felt growing in you was this elemental trying to finish merging with the rest of you. It had always been a part of you, hence your physique and abilities, which you are well aware are unique. Now it needed to become completely merged with the rest of you. You resisted. Your body, your mind, and your soul could not accept this fourth part of yourself. You tried different things, and nothing worked. Even your experience with Tabrins didn't work." ______Heidi remained motionless and silent. For some reason, she found herself believing this mysterious woman. She also felt fear beginning to grow in her. ______"Now," continued the brunette, "your fourth aspect will finally join with the rest of you. You'll change physically, mentally, and spiritually. The joining will be gradual but inevitable. As a matter of fact, I can already sense a difference in you. You do too, don't you?" ______The blonde nodded. She did feel different, and it wasn't just the recent events that she had witnessed and participated in. She knew that she wasn't the same Heidi anymore. ______The brunette stretched and finished: "Heidi, the only thing that is happening to you is that you are now going to become what you were meant to be from the moment of your birth. Up till now, you've been incomplete. Now the true Heidi is going to join the world." ______Veronica yawned sensually and the two women decided to get some sleep. The blonde didn't sleep well and was glad to be back on the road the next morning. ______The two arrived at Heidi's modest apartment in the late evening. Veronica hopped out of the Mercedes and helped the blonde carry her things inside. She spoke in a voice that was quiet, deep, and mysterious: "I've put a little extra cash in your checking account. Don't thank me, I enjoy doing something nice for someone once in a while. You did something nice for Lix'anna and me. I appreciate a favor." ______Heidi thought about how to thank her benefactor, but for some reason she felt her words would sound trite. The beautiful brunette's face softened, and she reached out and gently touched the blonde woman's cheek. In parting, she said, "We will meet again, Heidi Anderson. And have faith in yourself. I do." ______Without saying anything else, Veronica got into her SUV and drove away. Heidi closed the door and locked it. She knew she wouldn't sleep well that night.
