Tales of Helen and Lisa By Sam James Chapter 4 - In which Lisa meets her match .. or does she? One sunny day I received an invitation from Helen to join her and Lisa for a picnic down by the lake. They both had a free afternoon and it seemed Lisa was interested in some building work taking place by the lake. I might, of course, have guessed! As I reached the picnic site Helen's cheerful "Hi, come and have some food", welcomed me. Lisa, sitting off to one side, waved a hand, but continued to stare towards the lake, where a stripped-to-the-waist young man was busy building a stone wall along the water's edge. As I sat down Helen rolled her eyes skywards and said in a stage whisper, "That's Michael, the new assistant gardener ... and I'm thinking of putting a placard on Lisa's back saying 'Do Not Disturb - Lusting Hormones in Action'!" Lisa heard the comment and her hand came up again .. in a two fingered salute. I looked at the object of Lisa's attention and had to admit she had something. Michael was very handsome and built like a Greek god. He was well over six feet tall, with a blonde crew cut, and as he swung the heavy sledgehammer to break up the huge rocks for the wall, his bronzed body rippled with muscles. Helen and I left Lisa to her fixation and tackled the food, until suddenly Lisa stood up and began to head for Michael, who had stopped work and was sitting on the rock pile taking his lunch out of a knapsack. "Oh dear", said Helen, "I think the missile's armed and ready for launching ... come on, this we mustn't miss". Lisa was some way ahead and by the time we caught up she was chatting to Michael in her 'I'm-just-a-helpless-little-girl' mode. And then came one of those unforeseen turn of events that, though we should have been ashamed of it, brought a certain frisson of joy to Helen and I. As we arrived, and Lisa said "These are my friends, Helen and Sam", Michael turned towards us, took Helen's hand in his, stared at her as though she'd just come down from heaven and said softly, "Oh, wow, what a fantastic body you've got!" Our faces at that moment must have been a picture. Helen's was a mixture of shocked, but pleased, surprise; I had a job to stop laughing, and Lisa's ... well, if looks could have killed Helen would have been kebab. Michael appeared oblivious to the mayhem he had caused and enthused, "I've never seen muscles like that on a woman before, you must be very strong!" I gulped, and my mind flashed back to when I'd said almost exactly the same thing to Helen at our first meeting. Helen smiled, "Yes, I am quite strong .... but not as strong as you, I'm sure" I looked across at Lisa, her glassy expression mirrored my thoughts exactly .. we were not part of this at all. Michael grinned, and said, "Let's see, shall we?" He motioned towards one of the bigger rocks, perhaps 150 pounds. "Can you raise that off the ground?" Helen said innocently, "You mean above my head?" "I don't think you could do that" laughed Michael. Helen took hold of the rock firmly and with a powerful flex of her body brought it up to breast level, paused for a second and then, her face grim with effort and her biceps standing out in splendid display, powered it above her head. She stood motionless for several seconds, her body carved from granite, and then she let the huge stone fall with a thump to the grass. Michael gave an incredulous gasp. "Oh, Helen, that was fantastic! Sam, are you going to have a go?" I had no wish to get involved, so I invented an injured shoulder. Michael pointed towards an even bigger rock, and jokingly said, "OK, gorgeous Amazon, let's see if you can move that one!". Helen studied it for a moment, then, "No, I'm not going to try ... and I'll bet you can't either". Michael just grinned and took hold of the huge rock. With an explosion of power he hoisted it off the ground and held it chest high, gathering himself for a titanic effort. I saw his massive muscles bulge and his face contort with effort, but half way up he stopped, stood straining for several seconds and then the rock came crashing down. Michael wiped his brow and laughed, "No, you're right... well, that's that, then" And from behind us came a quiet voice that would have frozen the balls off a polar bear, "Don't I get a go, then?" Michael swung round and stared at Lisa in consternation. "Oh, yes, I'm sorry". Then he motioned towards the smaller rock and said, "You be careful now, getting it off the ground will be enough!". "No.... the other one, the one you couldn't manage" said Lisa, icily. Michael began to laugh, saw Lisa's expression and stopped, a bewildered expression on his face. "You mean you want to try and lift ....." Lisa cut in, "That's the general idea, isn't it?" She walked across to the massive boulder and spent several moments securing her grip. Then she flexed and we watched in breathless fascination as ever so slowly the huge rock came up off the ground. Lisa's beautiful face was set with determination and for the first time I saw her gorgeous body ripple with silky muscles as she exerted all her stupendous strength. She got the rock up to her breasts and began to power it upwards, willing her arms to straighten. For long seconds she stood shaking with the strain, but suddenly she gave a low cry of frustration and defeat, flinging herself clear as the rock came crashing back to earth. Michael was watching with mouth agape and as Lisa collapsed on to the grass, he rushed over to her. "Bloody hell, you are strong... most men couldn't have moved that, let alone lifted it!" He helped Lisa up and stood for a moment with his arm round her shoulders. Helen murmured quietly, "Nice one, Lisa...deserves an Oscar". I looked at her in surprise, "What do you mean?' "I mean I think she faked it so as not to beat Michael. I think she could have taken that rock up". Remembering the expression on Lisa's face I thought Helen was wrong, but I kept quiet ... time would tell. Helen and I walked back to the picnic site, leaving Lisa to chat up Michael, who had now suddenly become fascinated with her strength. We tidied away the remnants of our lunch and as we began to head back up to the school we saw Lisa coming up the slope - and she was not a happy bunny. As she reached us Helen looked at her in consternation. "What's happened, Leez, we thought you were in there". Lisa tossed her head and there were traces of tears in her eyes. "So did I, but there's a small problem - Michael's already got a live-in lover". Helen looked puzzled. "So... I've never known a girlfriend stand in your way before!" Lisa just stared sadly at both of us. "No, but this girlfriend happens to be a boyfriend .. yeah, that's right, dear Michael's as gay as they come!" As we walked back Lisa was in a black mood. "Why do all the fanciable men have to be gay?" she asked, miserably. "I'm not gay!" I said, in a deeply hurt voice. "You're not fanciable ... just available!" "And fuck you, too" "Any time you want, sweetie" "10 o'clock this evening then?" "Back off you little whore, he's already booked" snarled Helen, entering into the spirit of it all. "Oh, so sorry, I wouldn't want to interfere with the B-team" said Lisa in mock contrition. Helen 's eyes flashed and her mouth opened, but Lisa collapsed in a fit of the giggles. Helen and I grinned at each other - mission accomplished! At the school, as Lisa kissed us goodbye, I suddenly remembered. "Oh, Leez, just one thing.... Helen thinks you were faking with that rock and you could have raised it above your head if you'd wanted to" Lisa stared at me. "And what do think, Sam?" "I think you were beaten fair and square ... am I right?" Lisa gave an enigmatic smile and tapped the side of her nose with one finger. "Well, that's for me to know .... and you never to find out. Subject closed, OK guys?" "Cocky bitch" said Helen affectionately, "Come on Sam, let's go to bed".
